Any tips for making a new facebook account? I gotta make a new fb for my job but anytime I create one, it gets disabled right after. Seems my IP is blacklisted and now my even my computer. Anyone has succesfully dealt with this? I hate fb but I have no other choice nut to use it.

Could we talk about how FB doesn't even allow to see a user's page if you aren't logged in? I'd like to check someone's posts on there but Zuckerberg says fuarrrk you and presents me with a login screen. Is my only way to try to create a stupid account for that?

just be persistent. it's a balancing act of adding the right number of people but not too many otherwise it'll flag you as a spammer. its an uphill battle if you don't let it scrape your phone contacts since that seems to be facebook's metric for whether you're a real person, but obviously don't do that. it can be done without giving them any useful personal information it's just annoying and inconsistent. however if you can get it to stick for more than a day or two you're probably good to go indefinitely. i've had most success with accounts created with gmail emails rather than emails from my personal domain or services that don't do phone number verification (cock.li, yandex, etc.). btw you can get a gmail account with no phone number verification if you run android in a VM and choose "i don't have an account" in the google account sign in screen thing.

>>18416 also i think it might help to create the account using the fb app instead of the web site. just stick it in a vm and burn it once you're done. you only need it for signup.

>>18356 Have you tried creating an account via facebooks .onion address? It's https://www.facebookcorewwwi.onion/ it even has a wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facebookcorewwwi.onion I've no idea how it actually works because I don't have a facebook account but I suspect that you'll still have to provide your full name and possibly your phone number because how else are you going to send text on the internet if you're not willing to spread your asshole for facebook I hope that your time on facebook will be limited and that you'll be using a fake name

It's stupid. I just tried to register a Facebook account, it asked for "phone number or email" and I was like oh god, wait what, is it really possible to avoid giving them a phone number? Obviously no. Gave them an email, pressed the register button and my account got disabled immediately. Of course, the only way to get it back is to provide a phone number.

We've come to the point where users on lainchan are actually discussing joining facebook... Anyway to input my experience, the one time I did try a couple years back I was asked to upload a photograph of myself. I'm glad I didn't. Even when someone near me is using facebook I feel my brain deteriorating from all the stupid dumbshit it puts you through. Seriously. I just need hear the kind of content they produce and the usual methods they use to get it through to attention-span-defficient trash consumers, it makes me feel like an idiot. Anyway, I don't really get it, how come people say how china is oh so bad and they mine your data and do censorship, all the while most willingly using facebook. I don't mean to defend china, I just wonder if they don't suffer from cognitive dissonance or how do they think fb is any different from the PRC. Anyway, I'm glad I am largely asocial and can do entirely without those who are not already in my immediate vicinity. If we don't already see each other regularly then there is likely little use interacting at all, while if I do see them often there's no point communicating through a screen. Either way a messaging service is more than enough. I know they aren't optimal either but they're at least not as glaringly invasive, and don't keep trying to fill your mind with trash (to the extent of my experience). I guess it shows how much I dislike that thing, I am just happy that the new generations are moving away from it to tiktok or whatever, not that I've ever used tiktok. I'm just happy that the ever changing trends are still changing. At some point it seemed like facebook and twitter would claim the "social media" market to themselves for perpetuity. Also the tiktok part is what makes me wonder about the attitude towards china. Thank god for chans and their no-registration-needed format. I just regret that they're so inherently plagued with politics and low-effort posts. On the other hand registration doesn't prevent low-effort posting, just look at facebook for an example of the crappiest content ever. /rant

>>18740 In this case, wouldn't be good to have a burner phone just to register facebook? >>18767 Thanks for showing us how utterly awesome you are, really.
Zero Cool · 2020-08-01 04:21
>>18768 >burner phone In my part of the US VoIP lines are cheaper.
Mitnick · 2020-08-02 06:11
You could buy a burner phone and use it to make a facebook profile. It's also possible that your phone supports multiple users so that might be a way to set up an account and then access it with Opera which has a soykafty spyware VPN built right in.

>>18409 Must be the account settings of that account.
Spooky · 2020-10-13 20:55
>asks for sms, therefore game over Just use a real-number verification service. juicysms does real (not-VOIP) numbers from the netherlands, I got a free trial (normal cost = $0.50 but I had no way to get bitcoin during lockdown) and it worked fine for M$ and Discord so now I can use them over VPN.

>>18356 Huh, Facebook blocks IP as well from creating accounts. Didn't know that.
