Good evening lainons, let's have a /biz/ thread, the/cyb/ way.
This thread is about Fiat currency, Cryptocurrency, not being fuarrrked over financially and legally, Getting smart making and spending money, Basic finance and economy, Stock market, Scams and schemes, Investing, Gambling, National and international legalities and a whole lot of other stuff.
This thread is NOT for skiddies to beg for tips on how to scam.
do not encourage any illegal business, although speaking of them is probably permitted
to kick-start the thread with a question: You have no access to paypal or a credit card or a bank account, how would you be able to receive some kind of payment and store it in a way that is accepted by most online shops?

Just something to kick up the discussion, gotta drag the lainon's short spanned attention with a cheap question somehow

You can't have your cake and eat it.
Agent Jones · 2020-05-04 14:30
This is a dumb question lainon. Go to Western Union for your p2p transfer needs, and then go to a money shop (payday loans, etc.) and get a prepaid credit card from them. I don't know how much (fake) ID you need, but generally these are routes that lie outside the "main system" and would enable you access.
Lunch · 2020-05-04 17:05
You can create a paypal account with fake details as long as your money traffic isn't high. It isn't that hard to create account to service every other skid is using,

right but how do you put money into the paypal account or take it out without using a bank account?
>>17279
i think this is the standard procedure for buying soykaf online with an anonymous "credit card". last time i checked (in the united states) you could still buy visa gift cards with cash and no ID, but this might have changed. on the other hand the whole point of visa gift cards is to let people with soykafty credit scores or without a bank account to be able to make purchases online so it will probably always be the least intrusive option without doing actual fraud.

How 2 invest if you do not believe in the long-term stability of either the US government or cryptocurrencies

If you invest you have to believe in the stability of *something*, at least as long as you invest long term. If you are sure something is going to collapse you can always short it, but that's basically suicide if you aren't 100% sure it will go down, infinite loss and all that.
If you believe the general economy will go up yet the government may not (which basically sounds like a drunk libertarian's wet dream) you can invest in stocks or corporate bonds, but from your message I think you won't dig that either. If you got the ovaries to take the bet, get some credit default swaps and short corporate bonds if you *really* believe soykaf will go down. I hate the fuarrrks who cry the economy will collapse all the time but do nothing, and yell "I WAS RIGHT" when a crash happens, yet they gain nothing. Crashes happen, big deal, if you know a crash will happen fuarrrking put your money where your mouth is and short it, take the loss if you're wrong, if you cry it will happen but do nothing you're either a coward or an idiot (or a socialist that thinks shorting is immoral, I guess that at least is sticking to your principles)
Also inb4 buy gold, yeah it sort of resists losses, but it still went down briefly during the crash, and it's no way near as good as shorting when you are *sure* it will happen.

Hey lains, can someone explain the process of cyberhustling and freelance?
some people say it's impossible unless you have 20+ years of experience
and some say just about any idiot can start webdev freelance and make a small amount of money

I'm not really sure that anything is going to go down. I'm just not sure it will go up in the future either.
To me, the future is completely uncertain
Should I just not invest?

Shit moves, nothing stays static forever. That aside if you're prone to second guessing, don't go into stocks, maybe go into investment funds, yeah use high interest savings accounts, those are pretty safe unless you live in Argentina during 2001, then again if you are in Argentina during 2001 for some reason, fuarrrking run away, now.
Investing means taking what you own now and making it be worth the same or more in the future, that means buying books that teach you skills is investing in yourself, buying a bike and exercising is investing in yourself.
Oh also stay the fuarrrk away from cripto, people who can't handle risk get fuarrrkED there, I saw people that panicked when their investment fund went into the negative for a single day and pulled out, even though it went back up literally the next day. Know your risk tolerance, and stick with it.

Diversify, I am personally saving as much as possible from my wage (well paying blue collar field) to buy land and go off-grid as soon as possible. My current diversification is following
>45% to traditional stock market securities, most of these are behind protection of FED
>35% to my cryptocurrency portfolio
>10% to physical precious metals, this includes largely gold and silver
>10% to high interest saving account
It isn't perfect or even optimal in most cases but I do believe that I will manage to reach my goal.

you are always investing.
If you do nothing youre implicit betting on fiat. You are always making a bet even if you dont actively pursue it.

I would still argue that if you're not doing deliberately you aren't investing, if I buy my dad a Ford share and give it to him, he didn't invest, I did.
Although you are right, if you deliberately hold cash you def are investing, which in a deflationary context is actually a good idea since under said context many things such as bonds and even shares sometimes have negative yields. cofcofjapancofcof

Hey Lainerds, I am looking to get into algo trading, do any of y'all have any books/interesting articles to work with? I am making a little trading bot in golang and I'm interested in how others have done it before.
Currently I made a data collector since in my country there aren't decent free APIs that give historic data, but I found one of the payed ones have a display for current data that isn't secured, so I made a program that queries that soykaf every 20 minutes and saves it to a database, fuarrrk paying for training data.
Right now I am looking at making a simple stock trading engine, but in the future I want to upgrade that to be able to generate option trading strategies since not that many people are doing that in my country and I feel there's decent money to be made over there.
Now I am aware this won't be a simple job, I'm going for the long game with this crap, now I am hosting collectors on a couple of raspberry pi's to get some sweet free data to tests models with, but I am looking at upgrading to something more robust in the future, but well first I need to have something to run besides a glorified wgetter lmao
Haruyoshi · 2020-05-23 08:06

Yep, your best bet is to look use your trading website's API, if it has any, if it doesn't, just design an http parser and send requests directly to the website
the rest depends on your "due diligence"
but don't fall into the fallacy that training an AI/ML is mandatory, someone made a dry algorithm and it made him some profit.
Donna Hawthorne · 2020-05-26 21:04

>if it doesn't
http parsing is a mugs game, particularly if it involves sending ajax requests via headless watir, never knowing when a retarded webdev is going to break things. Take the obvious pill and change to a site that has an API.

LAINS.
where do i begin learning every subject OP mentioned, how do i learn jew 101 ?
it seems so overwhelming so i don't know where to start, i'm techminded so should i start with cryptocurrencies? or start with general economy? what gives?

I would recommend learning about basic accounting and keeping records first, gotta know where you are before you invest in crap.
Now after that I would say learn how the stock market works in a basic sense, what are stocks, what are yields, dividends, etc.
Now do stay away from technical analysis (or don't, I'm not your mom) now this is more on the opinion side so feel free to disregard, but I feel it is basically garbage.
Technical analysis in the end boils down to using past price data to attempt to predict future price data, it only kinda works if more investors use it to see how it will perform, thus causing it to perform in that way. Self fulfilling prophecy and all that. I personally feel it's garbage because past price data is not a predictor of future price data, at all. I feel in order to have a good investment plan you have to analyze your assets in how they are, and think how that might look in 5-10 years time, if the business is solid, if the government will pay your bonds (which might not happen where I live. God I hate my country), etc.
If you want to get into crypto that's your choice in the end. It's just another asset type, that's all. I personally don't like them as I feel they are priced in a "bigger-fool" system, you can't do much with them to buy actual soykaf, and thus their demand is mostly speculative. That's what I feel other currencies have on them, the fact you gotta pay taxes with those currencies, causes them to have demand for them, thus keeping their value, which is kind of ironic since the whole point of crypto is that it's not associated with any country.
Hope ya enjoyed my ramble, if you have more specific questions just ask, I love rambling about this sorta-crap.
