I've gotten permaderezzed from 4chan (they rejected my first appeal, and I'm not making a second one) and need new hobbies. Any recommendations? Something you'd do during a five minute break rather than something you'd do for hours. Thanks in advance.

Drano · 2020-04-12 21:39
>>16868 I wouldn't call it a hobby if it's going to be only for 5 minutes. I usually read posts on lainchan, sometimes I also play tetris in emacs.
Motoko Kusanagi · 2020-04-13 06:21
I don't know if you would consider this a hobby, OP but doing some math problems every day can help clear the mind. It could sound a little odd but go for it, this is something you could certainly do for just 5 minutes a day.

>>16885 My bad. English isn't my first language, so I slip sometimes. >>16886 >studying maths >take a short break solving maths problems I'm still accepting recommendations for problem books or other sources if you have any.

>>16893 You should be able to find them. First two are problems books third is theory but with lots of good excercises.

>>16897 I worked through quite a bit of a graph theory exercise book and it was pretty comfy. >>16898 >Probability Through Problems Sounds excellent, thanks.

>>16893 >>16886 Euclidea & Phytagorea are 2 math problem games for android from same devs. Both are geometry challenges but the first is pure while the second adds a raster and thereby changes how things can be solved mimicking the historical difference between those two. Seriously best hands on geometry math ive seen.

Just wait an hour. Your ip will change. 4chan bans don't mean soykaf

>>16958 Might I ask what you were posting?
Judge Fang · 2020-04-19 18:00
>>16959 I didn't post anything illegal, anon. It doesn't say in the appeal why I got derezzed, but I guess (emphasis on guess) that it was this: https://desuarchive.org/qa/thread/3178624/#3178624 It's also possible that my neighbour figured out my wi-fi password and posted illegal content, that a mod decided he dislikes me and derezzed me for no reason, etc. Wouldn't really know. I suppose I was discussing content that violates U.S. law, but i wouldn't say a perma ban is reasonable.
Trinity · 2020-04-19 18:11
>>16962 Wtf is this question even. What is the difference between getting a new permaban or getting an extension to permanent on the existing one? How does it matter, what made you ask this?
Naomi Nascimento · 2020-04-19 19:00
>>16963 I was wondering whether the bans showed up stacked on top of each other on the derezzed page or if it just shows the longest one. For reference (as I found out because of this, screenshotted on April 9th btw), being derezzed and warned at the same time looks like this. They just get piled up on top of each other. >why were you even wondering about this stuff I was bored and curious.
Nameless · 2020-06-17 03:18
>>16868 use a language learning app and learn whatever language you've been wanting to learn. I did this for about 8onths and fizzled out but have been slowly getting back into it instead of checking a chan and I'm positive it's been more fulfilling.
Dujour · 2020-06-17 13:37
>>16958 It's extremely easy to change your IP. You can go do it through your router settings or if you're actually retarded unplug your router overnight and plug it back in in the morning.

>>16958 Same thing happened here, derezzed for a whole month for talking about 8ch. I've been derezzed like 6 times this year alone and all of the bans were for bullshit reasons, at this point I might as well migrate to greener pastures (aka other chans) to see if I can at least get a conversation going without going insane in the process. >>17892 I guess I'm too dumb, since this method hasn't worked for me yet.
Pulse · 2020-11-05 01:05
>>16868 do you not have a dynamic IP? Take up drawing. Challenge yourself to see what you can do in 5 minutes. How did you get derezzed? Please tell me it wasn't /tv/ related
Hououin Kyouma · 2020-11-05 01:09
>>20637 I got derezzed for posting a pepe in a porn thread on /a/ but the thread wasn't taken down haha. It was deliberate though, I wanted to see what would happen. Mods are autists. I have also been derezzed countless times on /biz/. It seems like someone there is a PRC sympathiser.

Getting derezzed from 4chan was great. I posted porn on /g/ asking to be permaderezzed and some nice janitor obliged. Im also lucky to have a static ip so unplugging the modem eont give me a new one. Its just the same soykaf everyday and can become a huge timesink. Thats why slow chans like this are so comfy. You cant just hit f5 all day and get constant stimulation. Same reason i prefer matrix over discord. The rooms are slow and you cant sit there all day wasting time pretending you have friends.
Unknown · 2020-11-05 22:23
>>20641 This. One of the features of 4chan is that it's addictively fast. I actually set abstinence periods for myself before exam weeks at school/college so I didn't timesink into debates about their poor taste in cartoons. It worked out well, but I've transitioned to some generally-high quality slower boards that you can just check into once daily.
