Have a good fourth of July everyone!!
What is everyone's favorite thing about the United States of America? Mine is the first and second amendment, they're both so good that I just can't pick one.

The united states is far from perfect, but it's at least halfway decent.
And if any nation is going to be the dominant hegemony of world power, it may as well be one that's halfway decent. God help us if a county like china ran the world to the extent the US does.

my favorite thing about america is that they're everything they hate and they'll fight to stay that way. the 4th of july is a celebration of independence from english authoritarianism and low and behold they've created their own authoritarianism. their national 4th of july assembly had tanks. this shows two things: they want to make it a point to remind other nations to fear them, and they want to make it a point that they're exactly as authoritarian as the english they hated. essentially, america is the beautiful irony this world doesn't want but needs.

Mine are the First, Second, and Tenth Amendments of the Bill of Rights as well as the court appeal system since the last part enables challenging decisions that were either wrong or went too far.
Also, we don't try to fine people or put people in prison for making edgy jokes online. We also allow for state governments to reform civil liability laws to hold plantiffs' attorneys financially liable for wrongful lawsuits and to block violent criminals from filing lawsuits against targets who fought back successfully.

If they kept them in their own sky, the rest of the world would have less problems. I was married to one of their citizens and lived there for a while and I'm glad both experiences are behind me.

t. American
Americans don't have to worry what America does to anything not America, but everybody else in the world has a dark shadow cast overhead at all time, between outright war crimes perpetrated by the US or one of it's client states, and exploitative monetary policy, the US is no better than ANY other nation state, and most of the time, because of the outsized influence and power the US has on world affairs, materially worse than all of them
