Web Certificates

Hello Lains! I'm hoping to get any advice that you can give me on web certificates. I'm in a situation where I don't think I can go to university to study but I have learnt web development stuff like html, css, javascript, php, sql by myself and want to be able to show that to employers. I get the impression that most of these web certificates aren't worth the paper they are written on from looking at what others have said, but I kinda need something to prove I have these skills. Is there certain online certificates that you would recommend as being the best to get? Or are there better ways to prove these skills to employers? Thanks for any help you can offer!

>>11323 In the UK (according to some of my college lecturers) the sololearn.com certificates are some what useful. Theres also sites like freecodecamp.com and of course the most popular of all codecademy. IMO it might be better to contribute to a larger project and be able to show how you contributed towards it.

>>11323 >Or are there better ways to prove these skills to employers? Actually writing code and putting it on Github is a good way to prove you know something about writing code. Also writing a technical blog is a way to prove you actually know things well enough to explain them, which will separate yourself from hoopleheads who just take a course and pass an exam and then immediately forget everything.
