What does Lain think about Drone racing? It's pretty cyberpunk Drone Racing League: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiVmHW7d57ICmEf9WGIp1CA Drone Racing Simulator: http://store.steampowered.com/app/641780/The_Drone_Racing_League_Simulator/

id like to get into drone racing but not enough brozouf atm. maybe after i get a job, i am a ham radio tech so i can transmit on those sweet uncrowded remote control freqs (and i think the video transmitter is on the 23cm band)

Cyber, sure, but punk ? Not until we have illegal gambling circles and a hacker hired to hijack the opponent and the mafia hunting down said hacker because he messed with a fixed race. Still, I love that this exists.

>>5828 what about unregistered drones (in the united states) across controlled airspace? like who can run the longest over a military installation or government building
The Phantom Phreak · 2017-11-09 04:14
>>5830 you don't have to register drones https://www.recode.net/2017/5/19/15663436/us-drone-registration-rules-faa

>>5831 still if the intent was to see who could fly the riskiest tricked out drone, courses over restricted areas like airports would be the place (like how illegal street racing works) even though an accident would be devastating, its still falls into the "punk" or "low life" category for breaking laws https://hackaday.com/2015/06/23/the-shady-world-of-drone-racing/

>>5828 the loser gets turned into soylent, is that le cyburrpunx enough?
Dox · 2017-11-09 17:47
>>5830 wouldn't be much of a contest really, they'd either deploy electronic warfare soykaf (like jammers, or just get the mps to arrest you )
Bobby Newmark · 2017-11-09 18:49
>>5831 In Canada, drones and laser pointers have made the news for interfering with commercial flights quite a few times and drones may be unregistered toys now but I have a feeling this is going to change one day. Air traffic is obviously a lot sparser here too (with the exception of Pearson and a few other major airports) but it's already slightly "newsworthy".

>>5824 >cyberpunk >c y b e r p u n k How? There's literally no meaning behind this. Cyberpunk!=technologically superior, lainon. Why has everyone bleached cyberpunk of it's real meaning so they can sip Starbucks and go to Walmart with Apple phones and Beats headsets without feeling like they're not cyberpunk? Just because it glows and it whirs doesn't mean it is cyberpunk. It has to have a deeper meaning dumbfucks. Stop turning punk into a soykafty label and fashion because it's obviously not your culture. Especially since half of you are nazis.
Delilah · 2017-11-12 16:40
>>5845 The number of nazzies was far fewer thas you imagine, it was mostly the same roughly 2-3 people with no jobs, classes or friends posting allday erryday. And they mostly stopped. Building a drone from scratch and then racing it in an abandoned parking structure would be cyberpunk as fvck though, just try and tell me I'm wrong.
Guthrie · 2017-11-13 16:20
>>5845 >can sip Starbucks and go to Walmart with Apple phones and Beats headsets without feeling like they're not cyberpunk? The only place where you are socially accetable to have something to drink is a shop of a multinational, everyone has to have an iphone to be tracked and expensive soykaf to feel like they are on the right side. That's the cyberpunk world. >Just because it glows and it whirs doesn't mean it is cyberpunk. Maybe but everything glows and whirs in a cyberpunk world. Also the nazis are no more here
