Lain, I have an addiction and it's not under control. I don't want to tell anyone I know but trying to stop alone hasn't worked for 6+ years.
plastic · 2017-07-07 20:40
You can't do it alone. Take my words.
You need some companion mate.

Would an online addiction friend work? Anon boards are kinda nice since I'm just someone on here and not a specific person. But that's kinda unhelpful in this case.

I hate admitting it even tho I know it's true. It just seems so silly. Especially with my reputation for being a calm well disciplined individual, it feels like I'm lying to everyone secretly.
It's porn, I go to it when I'm anxious, stressed, lonely. Just typing it gives me goosebumps. I have added a porn list to my hosts file to block out most common sites. But lately I've put in extra effort to get it with the hosts file intact.
I just feel like soykaf rn.

I thought it was something serious.

same, friend.
Try convincing yourself that porn is REALLY dangerous. Go on yourbrainonporn and similar sites and indulge in your worst fetisheh for your last fap with porn. Think about what is going to happen if you don't stop immediately. If you really have an harmful addiction, this will more useful than tricks like blocking porn sites.
Also try not to indulge in anything similar to porn (captions, erotic literature and so on), if you do you'll be back to pornhub in 2 days max.

Is it really that bad? How much do you fap?
Latest developments in science show that for men it is in some ways healthy to fap around 20 times a month(Mostly as a prevention against prostate diseases).

I'm pretty sure over half the users on 4chan are addicted to pornography.
You can install leechblock as an extension on firefox, uninstall other browsers (deactivate internet explorer in win 7) and then turn up all the crazy denial settings in leechblock:
- add all the worst sites to a block list, test if it works
- turn up the blocking to be round the clock, permanent, and test if it works
- check to add password, enter random numbers, write on a post-it note
- ritually burn the post-it
- check the option to hide the extension entirely from the addons menu
- check the OTHER option to make about:config unavailable while the extension is blocking something (which is ALWAYS)
- suck it up and just do it already you pansy
- from now on you will jack off without porn, on the toilet, using your imagination, till you simply get bored of it and just stop
For guaranteed success, move your workstation/laptop to a room where you can't strategically hide your dick under your desk if someone opens the door and walks in on you. Even better if you can't hide what's on your monitor. If there's no one to walk in on you, then try studying/working at a library for a while.

He said porn was the vice, not masturbation.
Try reading erotic stories for a while, reading fiction builds your imagination like going to the gym builds muscles. Then just try fantasizing with no media. I can't masturbate without visuals anymore; the difference is it doesn't bother me but apparently it's bothering you.

Porn addiction is often linked to internet addiction, which can cripple a person by eating their time.
It is serious, and Opie is doing well by asking for help.

The thing with addiction is that you can build your defenses when you're not craving, but when you do you will tear through them quite easily.. unless you have self control.
>>3867
Breaking habits is hard, try substituting them instead. Identify your triggers (there's a moment when subconsciously you make the decision to watch porn, this happens before you consciously choose to do so).
When you can identify this feeling, push yourself to do something specific (always the same thing) instead of watching porn. For example..
do excercise, go for a walk, draw, start thinking about the void, make some food.. I dunno man.
Thing is, you have to be consistent.
The brain is lazy, it does what is easier. If you don't have to choose then it's easier to do things. So choose only once and then roll with it.
I wish you stength OP.

I know how you feel maybe, it's ruined relationships for me. I'm not interested in normal sex anymore.

erotica can be nice if you can find writing for your preferences that's written well enough. you can get around it entirely if you write your own, and having to finish writing a whole scene and delay gratification would probably be good for someone with an addiction.
good luck op, I'm in your corner

SSRI's might help. Oddly enough they either kill or stabilize libido. Opiates help too. but replacing addictions is a dangerous feat.
