So fuarrrk it, bout time - lets see if we can get a Lain meet going... Lets make this a general - so any location any time - use this thread to arrange soykaf. I'm gonna shoot first and say can we get a late August Lain meet in Bristol UK? Location? open, exact day - Open... But how about to get the ball rolling... Date: Sunday 27th Aug Its a bank holiday Monday following and it still allows you to keep sat free! Location: my vote is a pub with a garden! Maybe the Farm St Werburghs? http://www.thefarmpub.co.uk/ Or if you cunts want to be adventurous (I'm well up for whatever) lets go for Beeses http://beeses.co.uk/ by the river side - well private and kinda nice with the access by boat an all... no promising wifi - but then we should start our own meshnet anyway i'nit - and we got phones yeh? This isn't a 'recent decline' in who is posting, its just you are dealing with people with very little interest or trust in appearing places in person. I won't be going (Canada is a but far) but I was wondering if there was ever any success with that site where we pinned our locations on a global map? There was no one within 1000 km of me as usual.

I'm going to be traveling down from bumfuck-nowhere (milwaukee) for a week and staying in hostels. I would love to meet lainons in a more central place. If you come, I'll buy you food. If you're interested, post what days work best and we can figure something out. I'm an ambitious boy wanting to meet more interesting people and have challenging conversation.

Tried to meet someone in Portland, OR last year and they ghosted me. They were the one who contacted me as well. If they just had gotten too nervous or otherwise just had second thoughts, I wish they'd just said so. I'm willing to try again with any other lains in Potland. I think there are about 5 or 6 at least based on the maps I've seen.

Bsides Manchester next month (17th). Free tickets are released tomorrow. Bristol on the 27th sounds good as well. It's a long way to travel but a pint's a pint.
