What do you eat when you're in a hurry, Lain? Almost all of my meals for the past few months have been in a hurry and goddamn, i'm eating like soykaf. I can't even buy any snacks anymore because i'll just eat them instead of making food.

I've been eating a lot of junk recently, mostly things like precooked chicken and supermarket donuts. I'm not even in a hurry these days I just forget to eat, then when I get to the shop for alcohol I realise that I'm hungry and sperg out. I should stop.

Do any of you feel like soykaf all day if you don't sleep enough? I'm not that old (early 20's), but i remember a few years back this didn't happen at all, i could wake up sluggish but as soon as i got moving/took a shower the feeling would go away.
Now if i sleep two hours less than what i was supposed to sleep that night, it's hell. I can't work, i can't think and i always just wanna go back to bed. fuarrrk.

Yes, it is like kicking dead whales down the beach.
I too remember that, whenever I would sleep only 3 hours or so, I actually felt more energetic than normal (though that would be followed by an unbearable sleepiness after a few hours).
Last night I barely had any sleep, and I had zero energy. I didn't want to do anything at all, even getting in the shower took a soykafload of premeditation because I was feeling super low.
At 26 years of age I am starting to feel the effects of ageing.

I was thinking about what is the comfyest super power you can possibly have, and i think being rich is better than any super power, in degrees of comfyness.
Think about it, body temperature would be neat, always being in the perfect, most comfy temperature. Unless you're reach, then you can always be in whatever temperature you'd like. You can even travel to a country with the right temperature.
Telekinesis, able to read stuff on your bed without getting your arms tired. Unless you're rich, you can pay someone to build you a simple structure to hold the book for you on the bed. Not only that but everything you own as a rich person is comfy, so you don't really need to read on the bed, your chair will be bed-tier-comfy.
Ability to conjure up food - rich people have it better.
Never getting fat and eat all you can, well, here powers might come in handy as even rich people can't engineer their bodies like that. But that's not really that comfy.

i think having the ability to shrink or expand your body size could be comfier. if you're not rich enough you have to worry about finances, if you're too rich you have to worry about people trying to kill you. but if you can shrink down to a tiny size any comfortable blanket would become a mountain of comfy as long as you got rid of any insects in your prior regular size. food wouldn't be an issue as you could eat while small and be full from tiny portions.
the best all around superpowers i think are either: ability to stop time for everything but you/time travel or telepathy, both of which could easily be exploited to make big bucks. again though, being rich is probably better aside from the cool factor, if you had superpowers you'd probably get recruited to some group of superheroes/villains or there would be a supervillain/hero (respectively) who'd want to fight you all the time which seems like a bother.

Pasta with alfredo sauce if I don't care about how healthy it is, keep some crushed garlic in the fridge for it. Very quick, about 15 minutes. boil pasta, fry garlic (to taste, I like a lot as in a whole bulb worth but less if you hate it or none if you really hate it. Maybe replace with another aromatic?) in pan a minute or two before pasta is done, drain water from pasta and pour pasta in pan with garlic. Add 1 pint heavy cream or half and half per 1 pound pasta, at least a couple of tablespoons of butter or some sort of oil, and cheese to flavor. Add seasonings. I'm a creole seasoning with extra paprika sort of guy myself. stir it all together and by the time you've mixed it in it'll be done, but make it as thick or as thin as you like. This whole process should take about 15 minutes max not counting peeling garlic, which should take about 5 minutes. Get the good stuff, it's easier to peel and tastes better. You'll get to use less of it to get the same flavor.
Many other types of sauces to go on pasta take very small amounts of time as well. The big block here is the boil time of the pasta. Pasta is basically empty carbs though so keep your eye on how much you eat. Also be aware that you can add tons of things into this, including veggies and meats and other things that have actual nutrition in them. Some sauces lend themselves to this more than others.

Why would anyone consider a company with a culture that involves anarchy like that? How does anything get done if no one is pressured to communicate?
Hacker · 2017-05-24 17:05
>>2835
Sadly, no. It's a serious job offer from a serious company. I've seen worse soykaf tbh, companies asking you NOT to be a neet (aka to work with us you MUST go out a lot because we're fuarrrking cool haha!), companies asking for gurus as if programming was a fuarrrking belief and not a craft, on and on.
WebDevelopment has a lot of people who don't know what the fuarrrk they're doing. Butchering the definition of anarchy was a first, though.
>>2837
Companies with async communications aren't that rare (it has nothing to do with anarchy though). Things get done because if they don't get done people who are not doing them get fired.
People naturally communicate in async environments, that's like asking "how open source projects ever get done".

I like programming, the act of programming, but i've never been particularly drawn towards any sub area of programming (web development, game dev, system dev). I'm currently focusing on webdev just because it's easier to get a job.
The only area i feel a raging boner towards is infosec, but i want to keep my hikikomori ways and it wouldn't be realistic to get a remote infosec job so, webdev is safer.
Does anyway feel similarly? that they enjoy the act of programming, but not the end goal? Not necessarely making sites, games or engines? Just programming itself.

>ways to generate these sets recently and just the nature of fractals in general
mandelbrot sets are easy:
>z_0 = 0 + 0i
>z_(n+1) = (z_n)^2 + c
pick a boundary value M. for each complex number c in the square, run that function N times. the black pixels in the middle are c values for which the sequence never increases past M (i.e. they never diverge to infinity). colored pixels are c values where the sequence diverges, with colors corresponding to how quickly this happens. that's the approximation anyway... larger M and N values trade speed for accuracy.
Splicer · 2018-01-14 00:09
Does anyone know something I could read/consume to get a proper understanding of the mandelbrot and julia sets? I understand how they're created, but it seems kind of arbitrary with my current understanding. I want to be able to see more than just pretty shapes when I watch the pretty shapes.
