This is new /r/, the random and general discussion board. The intent is that this board will be used to discuss any allowed topic not already having a place on one of the other boards. It is expected that the other boards will be checked before a thread is made here.
The current list of topics not allowed includes the following: pornography
A thread that belongs in a different board will be moved; a thread that belongs in a different board will be locked if an appropriate thread already exists in the destination board. If a board is added, retroactive moves will be considered.
This is not the board to use for purely random and nonsensical topics. The same rules and expectations sitewide apply to this board.
Do not create threads in which no discussion is expected to occur, e.g. dumping threads. Do not create template threads. If a large topic, such as furniture, already has a thread, try to use that rather than starting a new thread, if reasonable. In particular, it's not reasonable for a particular topic to overwhelm the others across the board.
