In one post Tsuki suggested that the best way to transfer to System 2.0 was to die whilst you were young and healthy; the logic being that if you grew old you may develop Alzheimer's or something similar, and may risk corrupting your memories when you transfer

Now that I think of it the whole cult reminds me of Suicide Club movie. Happily choosing suicide with no drama. Maybe that movie is what inspired Tsuki to create the cult.

The real question is, will it preserve the penis.
Memory is great and all, but no penis, no reproduction, no means of reproduction, means no means of production, no means of production means Marx is crying.

These people can't be fuarrrking serious
I fully empathize with scaping reality, but I'm surprised this many people follow this schizo and actually consider this a valid worldview
But then again, even me being seriously socially impared got my dick wet a couple of times and I still want to end reality. It's not that surprising that people completely unfit for this world could really be dragged into this.
The other day I was approached by a 26yo man, a monk, trying to share with me that there are 10800 magical worlds and life is just one of the cycle, or something like that.

They seem way more aggressive and controlling than lainchan, and people complain about lainchan being those things quite frequently.
I agree they seem less tech inclined with their emphasis on discord and blocking of any kind of tor posting.
It's up to them if they want to allow tor, it's just not very /cyb/ to require people to expose themselves to govt surveillance to post there.

Suicide is quite different from attempted/murder though. People kill themselves all the time and it never makes the news; why would it?

People being driven to suicide, or suicide cults do make the news though. The book 13 Reasons Why has been removed from certain schools after an unusually high number of suicides, and the news reported on this. Additionally, the """news""" published a whole bunch of thinkpieces on the show. The same could conceivably happen here.

Not bait, i seriously think a chill board would be a good idea. Maybe brewing soykaf isn't the exact word, but i often feel the necessity of a board where you can share funny things you found on the Wired or happened to you IRL and generally post anything which is not so important to deserve being posted on the other boards. Lainchan is full of nice people so i feel a bit sad about being forced to be always serious when talking with them (both for self regulation and "write a less soykafty op next time" warnings)

I did the registering thing when they were still in the low 1000s, then left for a while. I'm guessing at some point between when we stopped lurking and the present, there was an influx of normal-types and people interested in the "spooky SUICIDE CULT XD" due to Youtube videos and the like being made on the site. Tsuki changed the rules up a bit after he expanded the registrant limit so much, apparently now there's like 2 years or something until the unlink. I'm in the same boat as you now, I'll probably start lurking more again now that July's almost here.

Hello lainons, I have seen this thread when it was first posted here, but I didn't get into it at all. A few days ago I heard from 8/g/ that Tsukichan just disappeared so I decided to check it out again, and I read their documentation on GitHub
https://github.com/SystemSpace/Compendium
and found the world-building and their inner logic was pretty neat. I hope it can be a novel or anime.
BUT EVERYTHING HAS GONE NOW. I'm pretty regretted for not following Tsukichan. Now the website and the community just disappeared! Do lainons here have primary sources and archives of the webpages of Tsukichan, and/or raw archives of all the threads posted on Tsukichan?
There are lots of things in the git repo but they are all compiled materials andnone of them are primary sources or raw archives... I think it is a interesting internet phenomenon, maybe I could write some reports/articles about its history, philosophy and community...

The best Vice articles are the interviews where they find someone who knows what they are talking about and the reporter just sticks to questions. Also when it's about prisons or drug laws or the police somehow the stories are always better; anything internet or pop culture related is always way off.
Terzibashjian · 2017-11-28 03:11

The majority of outlets online are just as full of sht, people just give Vice credit because they have been around forever. Which is hilarious because the old Vice Magazine was mostly articles about fashion, partying and getting wasted and got popular for edgy, "inappropriate" humour that would never see the light of day on the current website. It's not like their audience "matured" because it's mostly the same age group. Even the writers who mention their ages are usually under 20.

how else do they explain the product of progressive philosophies of transhumanism to normal people? "we asked an expert on cults" of course he is going to argue that groups resemble cults. and cults are the new scary thing to normal people.

I guess I should clarify,
>second and third hand sources on the topic
>as an outsider they asked participants what it was
>expecting autists to provide normal person tier answers
>asked people not at all familiar with the subject to be subject matter expersts
>seeking meaning in the genre through other information, rather than asking about or reading the FAQ
seems to me more like a quickly/ poorly written article by someone wanting to be a special snowflake "look guise i wrote about theis spooky creepypasta death cult"
its sad because LFE meant the world to some people who had severe depression, and making light of it by misconstruing the context is just as bad as had the article been about how the IPHONE is a cult apparatus used for mind control. normal people would take offense to that i am sure
