Sitting styles

Marly Krushkhova · 2017-04-26 05:18
How does lainchan sit at their battlestation? I mostly either curl my legs up in front of me or sit cross-legged in the chair. Shifting positions often helps prevent sore-ass syndrome. pic unrelated but funny
Vasya Pupkin · 2017-04-26 05:20
When i had a good chair i'd cradle in that motherfucker, pull my legs up in the desk, sit like mother fuarrrking L because daddy needs his exercise, etc.. Now i'm using an old plastic chair, anything other than sitting painfully correctly makes everything hurt.
Joe Bloggs · 2017-04-26 05:46
I really want to try a Balans chair.
Leto Atreides I · 2017-04-26 06:03
Depends on what I am doing, but pretty often I am standing instead of sitting. I really want to get a convertible standing desk (pic related) but do not have the money for one. Settled on putting my monitor on top of a stack of old cd drives instead. I have a rather nice chair but I don't like the idea of sitting around all day.
Jet Black · 2017-04-26 07:07
Sitting in my chair, leaning back as far as I can so my arms are stretched, and my feet resting , cosy and warm, on the computer under the desk. Alternatively, when playing danmaku, leaning forward, eyes 10cm from the screen, feet under the chair, arms along the body. >>1620 My aunt has one of those. It's not exactly uncomfortable, but I wouldn't see myself sitting (kneeling ?) on it al day. Try it for yourself I guess, but don't expect any miracle. >>1621 >Settled on putting my monitor on top of a stack of old cd drives instead. Now that's real' cyberpunk. I hope you dumpster-dived them.
Nanashi No Gombe · 2017-04-26 08:53
Sitting on the floor, legs crossed, spine straight.
Lady 3Jane.. · 2017-04-26 08:59
Legs on the desk, keyboard on laps, chair titled back a bit. That is my default lurking position, for work that requires writing I would just sit properly.
Hiro Protagonist · 2017-04-26 10:42
I squat on the chair
Nguoi La · 2017-04-26 13:16
>>1621 I stacked my monitor on ramen boxes. Tried it for a few days but I always wanted to sit down when relaxing with some vidya or working for longer than an hour. Hope it works better for you. >>1641 Do you also wear your tracksuit pants to achieve maximum slav?

I kneel on my chair(yes, sitting on my feet for extended periods of time). I've done this since i was 4 and it's just comfy. When I'm at my desk in my room with my laptop, I sit with my legs crossed. I have a feeling both of these things are bad, but I have more important things to improve, like nutrition and exercise.

If there's no chair, I usually squat because it makes me feel superior. Most westerners can't put their heels on the ground and have to balance on their tiptoes.

>>2313 I think squatting is the natural way to seat for humans, yet as with many things western culture has put us in unnatural positions. Yes I believe the chair is unnatural. Waht I was going at is that because hardly anybody at all squats, when I see someone doing it it is really weird to me. You could say I am trained to see that as ... I don't know, weird. Off. But again, that's the natural way to sit. As for the topic of the thread, I sit like the japanese, with my feet under my butt, in a table the height not unlike those japanese people use. See pic

If I'm at my desk, I lean. With my laptop, I criss cross on the floor.

Hunch masterrace reporting in. I've back pain like the veterans of the old age.

>>2773 This old fitness guru who used to run a gym in Bondi, Les Gronow, would say the same thing, that the human body is made to spend more time squatting, crouching, climbing, crawling, and moving across uneven ground. He said chairs and stairs have destroyed our bodies and robbed us of strength and flexibility. You know the native guides who take you to the foothills of the Himalayas can touch their insteps to their shins without discomfort? I'm willing to bet that rates of hemorrhoids are lower in countries that use squatter toilets.

SHODAN · 2017-06-01 02:22
>>3174 Funny that I always naturally would lean forward and wouldn't even use the seat lid (in fact I had it up always because it kind of got in the way) because I would just touch the tip of the bowl (and it was through my pants). It was somewhat closer to squattin than sitting on it as if it were a chair. But then in my quest to be more "normal" (because I always felt I did lots of little details "wrong", as in not like everybody else) I started seating on te lid and doing it "correctly". Even after learning about all this, I haven't stopped doing it "properly" even if it makes more sense to do it the more natural way. Also makes me wonder if people would think that even if it's bad for you (or so they say), we should do it the "correct" way because everything non-modern is wrong and everything modern means comfort. Man I'm getting too conflicted about pooping.
