A Little Rant about Lainchan

Cypher · 2020-08-26 10:37
Sorry for the rant, but I need it cuz I don't find any methods to contact the admins (I hate reinstall Twitter just to talk with some mod of this site) I abandoned this site some months ago annoyed for the continuos removed comments and threads, including a little thread where I asked opinions about Haibane Renmei and was removed one year after for no reason (I don't think about a cleaning of the site because there are dead and more pointless threads which are still existing). I revisited this site now and I see only snowflakes that rant about life, making this site cringe even if it was very interesting at the start (that's why I care about this community). Are there another rule that I haven't seen? I wish to comprehend the logic on this site. Thanks

>>8703 Well, you make a thread, and hope it doesn't get deleted. Simple as life. Mods' policy is to try to keep things from blowing up too badly by deleting at will any post at will if they feel it may start a big flamewar (most often it does) Of course they run their site and can do whatever they want. It's like trying to cover the sun with a finger, mopping up all the soykaf pretending there isn't a fan fed by a gutter on the roof. Whatever we have to say is of no value and will disappear without notice. Think how in faster IBs your well though-out response will be gone tomorrow with the thread. Also remember it's part of human life, if it's good and interesting it'll be overrun by people with soykaf taste and low-effort content. See also: degradation of a hobby.

>>8701 >I don't think about a cleaning of the site because there are dead and more pointless threads which are still existing Deleting "dead" threads is not in the TODO list nor do I think it should be. A "pointless" thread is not against the rules either, necessarily. If you feel a thread should be deleted, pruned, or otherwise "dealt with" -- Go ahead and report it. Just don't be surprised if it takes awhile or is looked through and nothing changes. Let me just point out, it is not surprising to me at all that, yet again, a thread complaining about a post removal and asking about rules had to be moved from /hum/ to /q/. So, you may choose to forgive me for thinking "asking opinions about Haibane Renmei" likely was the following "what do you guys think about Haibane Renmei?" in a thread not related to the topic at all, or as an OP meaning zero elaboration... (Once again, this is the most common of talking points.) Of course, after I checked the moderation logs - There is no instance of a post containing "Haibane" nor "Renmei" that was deleted. This would imply that it was in a thread that was outright deleted - if it existed - and your post was collateral damage of that thread being deleted... Which does suck, I know. I have lost posts in such a manner as well several times over. Anyways, here are the rules: https://lainchan.org/rules.html and always check the sticky on each board that may or may not contain some extra rules (see the programming board as an example.) >>8707 I wish I could disagree with you saying "hope it doesn't get deleted" - However, it does appear that if someone isn't breaking the rules and we have to purge a thread: there will be valid posts that are removed. This is really disappointing to me, and I would like to figure out a solution to such a thing if it were possible to. I don't think people who give the effort deserve to have such a thing happen to them. At the same time, that is the negative aspect of the balance of trying to improve quality.

>>8710 Thanks very much for your explainations, finally the situation here is more clear. to be honest I have read the rules many times, please don't take as example my autism of posting threads in the wrong boards 'cause I don't remember everytime the topic of every boards >"what do you guys think about Haibane Renmei?" Well I posted it in /vis/ without receiving complaints about the possible off topic crime committed, it was a post a little elaborated with some of my interpretations (obv I liked to read the opinions of other lainons, I'm not exactly triggered but more embittered).

Are you sure the post was deleted by mods and didn't just die?

Yo, just a little rant that don't deserve it own thread so sorry for bumbing this one. I posted a soykafting dicknipples in a thread about fetishes and it was erased. 2 options, chose wisely. >you don't respect my fetishes and you're a nazi for triggered me because I'm special. or >you have absolutely no sense of humor and couldn't take a joke. It's ok lainchan, I like this board anyway and you are the master so do as you want. But it was quite disappointing. This "rant" is not very serious, take it as a joke if you have at least, an once of humor.

>>8710 The thread probably 404'd. You should make /vis/ and /music/ have 10 pages like some other boards, so that good threads don't die as often.
