Why, did they just give up because of that one guy who kept copying threads from 4chan /tv/ and spamming them?
Joey · 2019-12-27 16:47
im not someone who frequents either much but it seemed pretty clear its leadership (tho charasmatic n fun) was spiraling downhill and had been for a bit
Bob Arctor · 2019-12-27 17:43
Arisuchan's administration took things too personally, they're probably having a temper tantrum at the moment and will bring the website back later with a "just kidding guys lmao"

What was the cause of the split anyway? This doesn't seem like a big enough community for it to be divided anyway.

>>6772 I hate it when people end stuff by whining like that. If you don't want to run a website anymore, fine it's not for everyone, but ending it on a "omg u guize r so meen 2 me!" note is kind of wimpy.

Besides if I have to lurk until someone coincidentally mentions the reason why, it might not even happen, so forget muh sekret club, just tell us if you know. Or you can just read what those threads were about. It's not about the so called "muh sekret club", it's about not making this place into a soykafshow. You're asking unrelated questions to this thread.
BloodCat · 2019-12-28 21:45
>>6785 The subject is about Arisuchan shutting down, it's not unrelated to ask why it opened in the first place. The only person turning this thread into a soykafshow is you having an issue with someone simply asking a question. I mean what is your problem?

Appleman1234 · 2019-12-29 21:05
>>6775 >>6782 >>6784 >>6788 >>>/q/6648 answers this in a summarized form. TLDR: seph didn't like the board list here and wanted to change it and didn't like when I replied Not yet in a few months, instead of Yes immediately to changing it, as I believed making certain boards overboards instead of pruning boards was the option that provided users with more freedom of expression and choice, however implementing that in lainchan's code base took some time. So seph made arisuchan to get the board list she wanted according to the timeframe she wanted and other former staff and users left lainchan for arisuchan for a variety of reasons, including not liking me or not liking working with me or liking seph more, etc. Further elaboration from the other side can be found at https://web.archive.org/web/20190703014612/https://arisuchan.jp/q/res/2221.html#q2421 I am trying to answer this question in a non biased way, but most people will just call me biased because it is easier.

i liked more arisuchan cause people felt, well, more interesting. I feel lainchan userbase is a little bit more "ordinary" (obviously for the imageboards' standart). Also on arisu there were less alt-retards and more comrades. Anyway we are all lainons, we share the same origin. And this is still much better than most of chans out there. So hi lainchan, i suppose i'm a refugee now, let's be friends <3

>>6859 Yeah, right. The common theme with alt-righters immigrating to a new imageboard is always the promotion of free speech and diversity of ideas, which sounds nice at first and you believe their lies until they become the majority, take hold of mod positions and then suddenly you become the wage slave, goon, whatever and they violently push you out. You are just trying to dismantle this place and make it your own echo chamber. I have seen it so many times already.
Turner · 2020-02-15 17:10
>>6920 >with alt-righters immigrating to a new imageboard How new are you? Are you not aware that /civ/ used to be a board on lainchan? Are you not aware that /civ/ was created before 8chan got shut down? Lainchan was never a hivemind, trying to push this false narrative that lainchan is only for radical leftists and soykaflibs is damaging. If you can't have a civil conversation about a subject, regardless of what it is you should probably fuarrrk off to somewhere else.

Liet Kynes · 2020-02-25 01:26
>>6967 There were users who left Lain because of the ""nazi"" problem or whatever, and even if Arisu wasn't as slow it did have Telegram groups that died and a Discord server run by Seph herself, which I'm sure by now is dead too since she rarely posted. I'm not saying this because I disliked Arisu, it's just thats the kind of people that don't understand the culture of Lain and bring that behavior over here.
