Are you allowed to post on this site if you didn't enjoy Serial Experiments Lain?
Mark Mamelle · 2019-11-25 18:37
This is an imageboard, not a fanatics club. Plus, unless you feel the need to mention it in every of your posts, how would anyone know ?
Project 2501 · 2019-11-25 18:40
>Are yo allowed to post on this site if you didn't enjoy SEL? >Lain Iwakura Kek, but yeah you don't need to even have heard about it. As >>6687 said, how would anyone know?
Incognito · 2019-11-25 18:53
Wait, are you telling me this chan is about Serial Experiments Lain??!
J.C. Denton · 2019-11-25 19:27
...you mean it's not the past participle?
Appleman1234 · 2019-11-25 21:07
>>6686 Yes you are allowed to post here if you didn't enjoy or didn't watch Serial Experiments Lain, unlike some other chans we don't have any must watch or must enjoy clause in our rules.
Special Agent Bob · 2019-11-25 21:59
Why would someone come to lainchan if they’ve never even seen serial experiments lain?
H.R. Giger · 2019-11-25 23:38
>>6695 I came because I liked the programming board.
Rick Deckard · 2019-11-25 23:51
>>6696 What is your favorite programming language?
Neuromancer · 2019-11-26 12:14
>>6697 Borland Turbo Pascal 5 Coming off Visual Basic it was a pleasure Also the last language I learned.
Rick Deckard · 2019-11-27 18:53
>>6697 It's odd someone else responded to that question directed at me. I like Lisp, but I wouldn't call it my favorite, just the language I use the most. I don't think I have a favorite language, if I can avoid it.
Void · 2020-03-10 14:59
>>6694 Other chans don't do a must like or must watch thing either though. You gush like a corporate goon.
Dozer · 2020-04-17 21:38
>>6695 Because the quality of other chans have dropped dramatically
Arisu Mizuki · 2020-04-18 01:45
Only if you did enjoy blade runner.
Cowboy · 2020-04-30 18:03
6695 anonymity, posts: I unenjoyed but by it was intellectually enriched; enjoyed obsessing SEL literally (better than mystical or metaphorical)---to neither my coming nor staying: merely eidetic?, 7140

>>6686 >Serial Experiments Lain never watched it, what is it about?

>>7140 >Other chans don't do a must like or must watch thing either though. I think it was a joke.

>>7587 After a long long time, jumping between chans I finally found my peace here. Objectively the best chan (for the time being...)

>>8679 Watch it and find out
Unspecified · 2020-08-25 00:05
>>8679 It is a pychological anime that explores themes identity, reality, and human connection. There are references to some of the great cyberpunk novels/short stories, computer history and software, etc. Oh yeah, and a lot of philosophy.. and I mean a lot. Specifically the type that tends to meld with physics, computer science, and mathematics. The writer intentionally wrote it to confuse a western audience and failed spectacularly. I think that it is funny considering he utilized western philosophy and genres to do so.... Which tells me that maybe he wasn't as bright as people might think, or he wasn't that honest about one of his goals with SEL... Anyways, watch it. It is pretty great. If you are a NEET when I had first watched it... watch Welcome to the NHK, Steins;Gate, then SEL. Why? Because you are going to be projecting like a motherfucker and have a really good time doing it. PRESENT DAY PRESENT TIME AH HA HA HA HA HA See you consolecowboy.
Unnamed · 2020-08-25 08:57
>>8681 >>8682 thanks bros also, one thing about Steins;Gate.. it's a great show and all but I can't be the only person who thinks they made a mistake by not showing cern, they showed NOTHING and maybe it was intentional, but that just makes it seem like it might be all in his head.. Which other parts of the story contradict i hated that, EVERYTHING happened only within his walls and friend group, lost a lot of stakes by doing that but maybe all of this is intentional and I just got filtered hard
William Holtzer · 2020-08-25 14:34
>>8689 >I just got filtered hard Yes.
Project 2501 · 2020-08-26 15:00
>>8682 To me its about the growing degeneracy and amorality in a cyberpunk distopia, where an innocent girl with a teddy bear is worshipped as a god. Distinctions between "the wired" and the true world are blurred to the point where you can't tell the difference between the two.
Zero Cool · 2020-09-13 07:17
lain's soykaf that all kinds of disgusting autists and trannies and similar elements get weirdly fixated on.
