Why does Lainchan mods/janitors/whatever allow for threads to derail? Sometimes a thread will be about one simple topic, someone gets too political in a way that has absolutely nothing to do with the topic, yet because they're written "eloquently" it's not moderated? Sometimes it doesn't even need to be written in detail, it'll be an image with a >greentext. If a person complains about it in thread or tries to go back on topic, it gets deleted and the topic continues to derail. I've gotten a few posts here deleted because of this and it's jarring to see a thread update thinking it went back on topic only to see several posts gone but the source of the soykafposts is still there, and the thread can't go back to OPs topic. Current example being the Fediverse sharing thread. But it's happened many times in the past and something needs to change. It feels like modjanitors let this happen on purpose.

>>6312 We are not allowing for threads to derail, that is the exact opposite of what we want. If you see something you think is breaking a rule, please report it. Especially if you think we have seen the post and possibly missed that it's a rule breaking soykafpost. We try to discuss posts when we can, so that we don't take improper action. However, some posts are straight-forward, such as some of the posts I have deleted in the Fediverse sharing thread you mentioned. A lot of the responses I deleted earlier were off-topic, ad-hom attacks, and/or failing to elaborate on their opinion. I would not have deleted the posts if they were arguing intelligently. >If a person complains about it in thread or tries to go back on topic, it gets deleted and the topic continues to derail. It is against the rules to complain about the quality of a thread as this type of post further derails the thread. Report the soykafpost and ignore it. Also, I'm unaware of an occasion where a post was deleted that was on topic and not breaking a rule. If you can point me in the direction of those posts, I can explain why they were deleted.
