Ban/filter incels.is terminology
Undisclosed · 2024-05-07 12:44
I really have a major problem with the proliferation of incels.is terminology on imageboards. I feel like most of the people who come from those websites and types of communities are just as bad, if not worse, than 4chan users. They often are actual normal users themselves and tend to speak in Instagram-style ebonics. They also bring tiktok soykaftery wherever they go. This sort of language is maximalist, and it is a way for people to avoid putting effort into expressing ideas in a meaningful way in favor of using buzzwords. I do not have issues with virgins or people who are unable to get a girlfriend, but I think the types of individuals that come from these places should be unwelcome here, and they should be forced to integrate into imageboard culture instead of spreading their cancer wherever they go. I see that Lainchan has disallowed the use of many other terms commonly used by 4chan users, and I think that incels.is terminology and culture doesn't stray too far from it in terms of quality and content. Therefore, incels.is terms should be filtered/derezzed in the same way.
These are some of the basics, but there are quite a few more.
>mog
>-maxxing
>betabux
>cope
>-cel
>foid
>femoid
>normal person
>jfl

A lot of those terms have entered into public usage (usually ironically, but not necessarily) outside of incel forums. "Cope" is also just a regular word that's existed in the dictionary forever.

This, in principle, makes sense to me.

these are all literally mainstream terms now you retard

Except it's used in a butchered way on the internet. Actually, I could see the reason for not censoring cope on that basis that it is very commonly used in normal contexts.
See:
>That's cope
or
>Cope and seethe
vs.
>He could not cope with all of the stress.
Also, c*ckold has legitimate usage in a valid context, but it's still predominately used in a more "meme-y" way online, and it's still censored for that reason. I'm sure there's several more words like that that are also censored.

So are every other 4chan meme term that's censored here. "z**mer," "d**mer." It does not mean that they should be used. Should "rizz," "gyatt," and "unalive" be used here, as well? If I wanted to see this soykaf, I'd go to tiktok or 4chan.
Liet Kynes · 2024-08-11 17:52
literally who gives a fuarrrk if they are mainstream now? they are soykaf and should be nuked. cope is a bit difficult because its a regular verb so getting rid of it could be a problem. same with dilate and seethe. solution. language enhancer? it doesn't seem to play nice with verbs though. also what to change it to? maybe filter out whole phrases like "cope and seethe" etc? just auto ban a person who uses such phrases (starting with moi). get rid of based. its fuarrrking annoying.
>>12574
gyatt is old really old. I dunno how tiktok hungry ghosts use it but its probably annoying. although like cope its been around since forever.

Ban all retards from politically incorrect and stupid 4chins terminologies
Nanashi No Gombe · 2024-11-27 18:15
I find it odd tr*nny is filtered to transhuman but nothing is done to troon. Why? Is it because it is used as both a noun and a verb so it makes it more difficult?

I despise the word rizz for uglifying a nice word like charisma.
Fred Nurk · 2024-12-22 15:20
>i have issue with these skibidi gen a words
old man yells at cloud
>5 seconds later

i don't really have problems with much the terminologies but i find them cringe after a while but keeping some genuine words like cope, normal person(like obviously) i don't have much problems having others derezzed

the date&time seem to match, you were trying to spam weren't you? so sad your friends weren't interested in your petty soykaf

"unalive" sounds like a word out of a poorly written cyberpunk dystopia especially given the nature of its existence.

incel scholars invented that

If by incel scholars, you mean reddit users, then yes. incels.is was the continuation of the /r/incels subreddit since the subreddit was derezzed. Because it is fundamentally a reddit-based community, it tells you everything you need to know about it.
>Created by SergeantIncel and Master on Nov. 7th, 2017, it was made directly in response to the ban of the /r/incels subreddit.

They don't even gatekeep their website and allow non-virgins on the website. They essentially have an entire wiki dedicated to their language essentially allowing anyone to integrate very easily, compared to 4chan where you have to actually lurk to figure out what is going on (although there are websites like ED or KYM, you still have to lurk to be able to sufficiently participate because 4chan culture moves so quickly and there is a lot of breadth that the former two websites do not cover.) The website also behaves like a honeypot, not allowing users to use a VPN/Tor while having "users" (likely feds) encouraging behavior that causes people to incriminate themselves.

Those definitely need some filter. Pisses me off seeing that retarded soykaf here
Mentat · 2026-03-28 15:19
if you ban 'cel' I won't be able to talk about animation
William Holtzer · 2026-07-20 00:38
OP making a whole thread to complain that people they don't personally like are creating new words and slang and they shouldn't be allowed to post them.
Now, for the sake of the argument, suppose I said that African Americans should not be allowed to use African American vernacular for whatever reason. See how your very own logic can be flipped on its head?
Hence, your argument is only valid if you assume that certain groups are permitted to assemble publicly and others are not, which in my opinion contradicts basic freedom of assembly commonly recognised in most democratic countries. If you think that freedom of assembly is harming you, feel free to step into any number of authoritarian countries with your current western opinions and see if authoritarianism might treat you any better.

society would be instantly smarter if we ban ebonics and shun those who use it. my 2¢

This is a silly whataboutism.
The problem here is that the terminology is soykaf and the people who use it are soykaf and encouraging the use of it is inviting people who are going to soykaf up your site with open arms.
Same deal with the sharty lingo nonsense. None of these terms should be used if you're a human being planning to have a genuine human conversation with someone else and not some dipshit that has no intentions of engaging earnestly with any point you could make because social media has eroded their sincerity.
I'll say not every word in OP should be filtered/derezzed/whatever, and I'm not really sure how often that terminology is used outside of /hum/ (which is a cesspool anyway), but its a reasonable ask.
