janny will not do anything about nonfat-soykaf drinkers clogging up the entire board with off topic soykaf day and night, in all threads. What's my best alternative to 4chan /his/ (no reddit please), really asking
picrel, example of the unspeakable schizophrenia we can find there

Well anon, while I do not have a suitable alternative for you I can tell you why 4chan is like this nowadays. The head mod is Rapeape, he gets paid 5k a month and he is essentially running the site while Hiroyuki takes a hands of approach. Rapeape is an unironic fan of the politics board he wants 4chin as a whole to be more like politics board and for the traditional culture of the site and each board to vanish. Remember, the politics board used to be a niche board until the 2016 US election, during the election and thanks in large part to reporting from mainstream media that board saw a huge surge in users coming from both Facebook and Reddit (I am not kidding here) who took what they read from outside the site at face value and assumed that was what 4chan culture was and started spreading to other boards.
After Moot sold the site and Rapeape essentially gained full control over 4chan the goal became to change the culture of the site itself and radicalize people. This is why a lot of boards get perfectly fine and on topic threads wiped but gets to have Twitter screencap threads made purely to cause outrage and an anger insider trade gets to stay and hit bumplimit. This is why 4chan culture as a whole has changed from the old 00s anarchic internet culture to people hiding their controversial opinions behind faux-irony, this is why people stopped saying "99% of everything on 4chan is bullshit" and takes schizo-ramblings with no sources at face value, this is why you get soykaf "memes" like your pic propagating on the boards. This is why you get people coming from 4chan to smaller imageboards, act like their twister caricature of 4chan culture and then get mad when they get derezzed/muted because the imageboard in question actually enforces the rules.
I am sorry to say that I don't know where you can go to genuinely discuss history without all of the modern 4chan bullshit. Smaller imageboards are deader than ever, forums are disappearing and 4chan itself is a parody of what it once was. I feel like internet culture in general has eroded away and been replaced by just social media and dead websites. It's sad but that's what it is, sorry to say. No one seems interested in actually propagating a culture outside of the social media sphere.

It's nice to see a sane, rational post like yours, from someone who actually understands what has happenned to the chans and to the net in general. I wonder how many other people like you there are, still reading what little good content there still is, while trying to ignore the schizos and propaganda.

Nice post, really meaning it. Thank you for many of the information even if you weren't able to help me find another place to discuss history.

I think another component was also that the old guard of that board simply moved on in life.
I remember we once had a threat where we just asked, what everyone was doing in their life, many of the people in the thread were going for some kind of history or social sciences degree.
And I expect that is where many of the old guard are today with after a day at work the last thing they probably want to do is argue about more history.
But yeah, your points definitely didn't help in keeping some of the proper people to stay.
/his/ before had a very anti-politics board culture, pretty much being annoyed at people from political boards coming there to fight their stupid ideological battles instead of talking about history.
In the late phase of the board, people joked around that /his/ is the place political board users go to wait out their bans.

This line is very accurate, I see the purpose of social media platforms not to interact, but as searching, try to make some contacts find cool people and then bring them together and aggregate them in another area.
Granted that gets into another issue that the soykaf used these days for aggregation is discord quite often. And you have ofcourse a selection bias that occurs with that.
