NSFW spam in /zzz/

Spooky · 2024-02-04 05:57
I discovered recently on /zzz/ that there's an anonymous user who posts NSFW links that lead to Anonym File that we need to ban for good. This only happens on /zzz/, but not anywhere else on this imageboard. The user in question post the same NSFW image with different original filenames, mentioning things along the line of: n*e-w f*i-l*e-s *2-0/2/4 *p-r/e*w- (Anonym File links but it's a different tinyurl address) l. i. s. t. - o. f. - v. i. d. e. o. - f. i. l. e. s. (link) Either this is a NSFW content bot, or somebody trying to spam NSFW on /zzz/, but every time we report them they keep coming back. Could you please help get rid of this user for ever? Thanks
Drifter · 2024-02-04 08:06
Are there people moderating /zzz/? If this is not the case I think there is no effective way to ban the person / the bot ya know u can always change IP/browser etc. How about some sort of spam filter? Or a captcha before posting ( that would stop the bot )
Yet Another Lainon · 2024-02-04 08:21
>>12275 >Are there people moderating /zzz/? Not sure if there are any people on board that do monitor /zzz/ at the moment. Anyways the spambot made two threads that involved CP/NSFW content recently and those threads were deleted, one by one. Most of these threads the bot posts involve CP or NSFW in some way, and I tried reporting them. Even through comments I wanted them reported in one of the threads but this took, let's say, around an hour or a half of one prior to deletion. >"no effective way to ban the person or bot" Well, there needs to be a way to scrub the bot off /zzz/. Does the bot changes their IP?
Boris Grishenko · 2024-02-04 08:29
I forgot to add an image of those recent spam threads. It's good that now it fetches 404 errors. This spambot keeps breaching Rule #8: "Don't post child pornography or questionable 2D/3DCG/3DPG sexual depictions of children". This seems to be ignored, though.
Faye Valentine · 2024-02-04 08:53
>>12276 >Does the bot change their IP? I think it doesn't matter if the bot doesn't change it. I mean, you ban the IP of this one, and next week, another one can come with a different IP each hour. I think a solution should be based on the content of the post not the poster info. With a lack of moderation, some things we can consider: For text, some good spam filter should be present ( maybe an AI based one even tho I think it's kinda expensive to run ) For images, we can use some AI classifier. Captcha should be present.
Acid Burn · 2024-02-04 09:38
>>12278 So you're thinking of Captcha or better moderation against these CP spambots on /zzz/? I like the latter very much. This reminds me of Tumblr being overrun with NSFW spambots and I wished they combated the issue in 2018 rather than NSFW not being allowed. However, how frequently do these CP spambots appear? If so, they frequently breaching Rule #8. Also, somebody at least mentioned it in the second Bug Report thread in /q/, so I helped guide them here.
Kashire · 2024-02-04 12:14
>>12277 First, I deleted your image because it contained links. What were you even thinking sharing cp links? Second, >This seems to be ignored, though. We are handling these things as often as we can. I've been working with the filter to reduce this, etc. etc. The best way you can help make this happen faster is by reporting it because if someone is in IRC and not camping the recent posts, they can miss it.
Drano · 2024-02-04 12:43
>>12280 I was showing proof of the spambot posts prior to deletion but hidden under a spoiler so that people won't be affected. I was not sharing links prior in the screencap. This spambot posts CP links that redirect you to Anonym File. Each time they post, the thread's got a set of different tinyurl addresses that link to Anonym File. In short: I was showing proof, not sharing anything, bud.
Batou · 2024-02-04 13:03
>>12280 Also, how often do you take care of these CP spambots on lainchan? I've read on /hum/ that the CP spambot also posts the same thing on sushichan's /lounge/ board, Heyuri's /b/ board, 4-ch's /img/ board and Uboachan's /ot/. It also spams identical links on 4-ch's textboards and post office. This also happens on boards.guro.cx's /art/ and /req/ boards, 7chan and endchan.

Dr. X · 2024-02-04 15:20
https://uboachan.net/ot/res/24758.html This thread on Uboachan is oddly amusing. Let's cut to the serious parts: "Who does it doesn't really matter. What matters the most is the fact that their posts are eventually being taken care of and deleted, meaning that someone is clearly keeping an eye on the board." "They're bots causing a targeted attack, which is happening to all imageboards." "Either someone is making money off the links (more likely), or someone has foul intentions for Uboachan or it's users." "The problem is we have no automated protection against posters like this." "Be it the feds or not, they're trying to get many shut down. They spam that CP everywhere... it could even be on some random obscure imageboard less than 10 people know of. They certainly use bots to crawl the internet looking for ones to spam using familiar software like vichan, jschan, lynxchan, etc only to manually spam." Found a link too here: https://xj9k.neocities.org/posts/ This is a great imageboard spam tracker that can help sort out the problem. People had decided to keep track of this for some reason but we HOPE that this CP bot attack stops dead.
Mentat · 2024-02-04 16:10
Found another link: https://allchans.org/ Most imageboards I found on the link come up with very little trace of the CP bot attacks as a whole. It's good that my antivirus had protected me against the links the bot posted, but this is getting hit hard right now and we should all unite the other altchans together and stop this menace. Taken from Uboachan's thread on the spam attacks: "If you use multiple altchans, you occasionally see the CP spam. It's quite the issue, really; it's all posted in the same way, the same style, across many altchans." The catch is, what imageboards and topics had we seen being attacked by the CP spambots? We can see the damage by whittling down to only-SFW imageboards. Please note that I'm also operating on /r/ in light of the recent auth blocks I want to shut down, but take care and good night.

There is another useful write-up of the spam problem at https://trashchan.xyz/meta/thread/374.html We're trying to figure out solutions for Uboachan/Sushichan, but reCAPTCHAs don't work so I've only been able to add more Janitors so far. Any other experiments are gonna need some custom code and will probably result in some kind of hassle for the user. This is happening everywhere and presents an existential crisis for the future of imageboards. One idea was to require a user to perform some special action periodically in order to give their browser a cookie which allows them to post. Like finding a word in the rules or filling out a form on another page. It would be annoying, but if we can find a can't-be-assed threshold where the solution is too annoying for the spammers but not for the dedicated users, we may be able to win.

>>12306 I hadn't tried following the links from my home browser for obvious reasons. If they all go to the same place, maybe having the server follow links to see what's behind them will let us block them from being posted. It must be a lot harder for the spammers to change actual hosting providers frequently than it is for them to change URL shorteners.
The Plague · 2024-02-06 01:31
I can say that this bot has existed since 2015 or earlier, and it is still here. It is indeed very strange. I don't know who would sustain a campaign like this for so long, but it's quite unusual. Like others have pointed out, it hits every imageboard, they must be using google dorking to locate them. If anyone has a regex to defeat it, I'd love to know, but in my experience, when I would write a regex against it, they would adapt the pattern to be something new. I truly believe it must either be a) Someone who is making money off of it b) An intelligence agency working to catch pedophiles, or shut boards down c) A pedophile who's fetish is pointing those links. Also, I've found that the ASNs come from weird providers, one of them was named PonyNET or something similar to that. And a bunch of abuse reports against the ASN saying that they get e-mail spams and illegal content from that ASN.
Dujour · 2024-02-06 12:16

I'd recommend taking it down as soon as possible." It's related to the 'cp2' bot but doesn't show up on xj9k's report list, only imageboards like uboachan, wapchan, lynxchan and this site. >>12310 One of the strangest things I've witnessed and I strongly agree on the advertising strat that this bot/human uses. I kept checking other chans that were hit by cp2's posts and it recently hit lynxchan. However, I can't report it.
Mentat · 2024-02-09 14:44
>>12366 I had globally reported the cp2 spam on lynxchan (name's based on how XJ9K handles the spammer in its URL blacklist). Also they change the image filename each time despite it being the same NSFW image; they used to be somewhat cropped. What's the hosting services cp2 use, if any? This is tough considering imageboards are switching from reCAPTCHAs to adding janitors. Lynxchan has code-based CAPTCHAs (and other ones as well). NSFW content is very questionable, and while we want to cut down on cp2's spam posts, I want blocks to shut down for proper NSFW content, not CP.

The previous admin of megidochan.com (rip) unceremoniously pulled the plug in May after getting burned out by this same incessant spam. reCAPTCHA is quite pointless, I've already seen. Luckily, my userbase is the type to stick to a single 'general' chat thread, so there is always the option of locking off new thread creation as a last resort. Still... That's a bit of a big loss! Rejecting URLs in the OP seems alright for now, but I'm sure the spammer can swap in some @N0N+AlK style garbage just as soon as I add a complex expression filter. The images accompanying the links are much more immediately upsetting, anyway, so I was wondering if OPs could be forced to choose from a stable of approved images when making a thread.

Image attached; note that the link I've mentioned earlier is not present on this list.

>>13447 Here's an example: https://xj9k.neocities.org/posts/414ad9ddafbf4435b02a8afb1fb8b8fe/ CP spam was reported on tvch.moe's /dunk/ board seven times. However, my previous piece of evidence (in this case tvch.moe/tv/res/360034) should've existed so that we can keep track of these reports. Another site that CP spam attacked is https://merorin.com/jp/

Well, I haven't been updating this thread in a while. Yesterday, I reported https://comfychan.org/b/res/2774.html the moment I saw it since it's CP spam, and the same post got reported on our /zzz/ board, just as I had noticed on XJ9K. This is yet another wave of spam after spam that gets reported. Another thing was a user found CP spam had got past Uboachan's improved CP spam filter via /sugg/, their questions and suggestions board: https://uboachan.net/sugg/res/4220.html I've asked the mods "how much are you planning to improve the blocker?" and Sage replied that the filter takes care of link-based spam, but it's not designed to detect text in images. The spammer uses images, so they still manage to spam the site almost every night without fail, also saying they ran an imageboard using the same filter.

>>13526 Now, we have a URL for this CP spammer: https://xj9k.neocities.org/posts/3259cb1cb23e35bafa5cec2d65ca6adf/ And from what I hade seen, most of the time it attacked lulz.net's /furi/ board, our /zzz/ board coming second in the wave of attacks.

>>13447 Most of the collected posts from cp4 are from nichan to uboachan. However, I found cp6 posted this: https://zzzchan.xyz/b/thread/277515.html#277566 From what I've seen: >CP gets sites taken down even when it's not real CP >When mass banning some new users from, a mod on the site got one of their innocent posts. Also and CP spammer gets them derezzed sometimes so cp6 guessed they use the same VPN ... how unusual.
Lunch · 2025-08-28 13:16
As I've seen, deleted posts on Uboachan will still show in the board catalogue. I do not know what goes on in regards to these posts; imageboards like this one always delete posts from boards and their respective catalogues. However, when I clicked the link in uboachan.net/ot/res/29140.html (which was deleted but the husk of it remained in the catalogue), it redirected me to a telgra.ph page, with links to filesfly.cc. This is from https://xj9k.neocities.org/posts/08ca284f372809c75b4d15f7fe5dc4b7/ which is again a CP spammer we don't allow. Uboachan, on the other hand, should update their anti-CP spam filters.

I hadn't updated this thread in ages because stuff detected by https://xj9k.neocities.org/tags/cp/ has been quite rare recently. I've checked our ban list and there's plenty of rule #8 and #9 breaches from years ago, but some of them I've reported on the fly. I also searched up other imageboard ban lists but they came up as 404 errors, meaning that they are private. On Uboachan, I asked sage if I could view the site's ban list and they explained "unfortunately, this is for site mods and admins to see". Fair enough - I also reported CP spam there whenever they appeared, and I'm glad they helped answer my worries. However, I have other problems that I'm not going to bring up in this thread, as this is a CP spam report thread that hasn't been active for ages now.

One word: Bump. Although I have personal problems on /q/, I haven't updated this thread in ages... but if you want to track anything in regards to CP spam, look up https://xj9k.neocities.org/tags/cp/ Look for anything on https://lainchan.org/zzz/index.html that's CP spam, however chances are it's rare.

One word: Bump. The usual. I haven't updated this thread in ages, but if you want to track anything in regards to CP spam, look up https://xj9k.neocities.org/tags/cp/ Look for anything on https://lainchan.org/zzz/index.html that's CP spam, however chances are it's rare. I'm sorry if I'm inactive because I had personal issues elsewhere and it had taken a huge toll on my mental health ever since it was too much. Link's here if you want more info: https://lainchan.org/q/res/13691.html Kind regards.

Might be related, saw this post on trashchan a few days ago after somebody linked the post.

>>12281 >In short: I was showing proof, not sharing anything, bud. >bud please don't use reddit lingo. also be more careful with this kinda stuff, if your proof contained links or explicit pics or something, then you still shared it. doesn't matter the intention. a friend of mine had a lot of trouble because he stumbled across this kinda stuff on yandex I think, a view years back, he reported the links to authorities. Guess what? he was ordered to court because he distributed those links to them. the system is a fuarrrk, what I'm trying to say though, he wasn't re-distributing them on a image-board, like you did. >>13810 >east siberia or northeast asia interesting. i made a thread on the sharty complaining about cp spam and somebody said something about the spammer being from omsk. didn't elaborate though
Anamika · 2026-01-09 14:57
>>13810 https://trashchan.xyz/meta/thread/374.html Seisatsu linked this back in 2024 and the situation was dire, concerning how much CP spam there was regarding a targeted attack via a Uboachan thread. >>13811 Strange that this had been bought up now when the proof was actually deleted by mods, and that https://xj9k.neocities.org/tags/cp/ just redacts a part of a URL. I haven't been on this thread in ages and I am glad this is staying afloat. >>13814 What thread are you referring to where you've got a Rule 4 warning like it's a thread going through a quality check?
Splicer · 2026-01-18 11:07
I have been aware of a new thread here (https://lainchan.org/q/res/13819.html#q13819) which talks about a bot that attacked a another person's site. This bot was posting CP links on /zzz/, as usual: https://xj9k.neocities.org/posts/cp6/
Hitomi · 2026-02-27 17:37
I'm bumping this so that there is no issue as things are falling out of place
John Rain · 2026-02-28 04:04
>>13830 NOTE: https://xj9k.neocities.org/ is now broken. I don't know when it happened, or how, but this issue now makes it impossible to keep track of spam posts being catalogued. Mods, is it possible to make a catalogue of CP spam posts you delete? Thanks in advance (even though the site's banlist still works)
Pris · 2026-03-18 18:04
>>13881 Has anyone found an alternative report list like how xj9k.neocities.org worked? Thanks in advance
Guthrie · 2026-04-05 18:27
Found a CP spammer on /hum/ and reported it, via the recent posts on the site's homepage: https://lainchan.org/hum/res/97381.html
SHODAN · 2026-04-06 07:34
>>13928 They're doing it again: https://lainchan.org/hum/res/97396.html >>13881 https://xj9k.bot.nu/ The person that made XJ-9K said >"I did receive an email 5 weeks ago from some confused passerby claiming there was an uncensored link and asking "Why even make the site? To spread child porn to more people?", so perhaps they reported it. Or it could be coincidence - I can't imagine such a report taking a month to process. >"Regardless, the Neocities site was really just a way to pseudonymously host for free, because when I started the site over 5 years ago, I didn't know how to host a website myself or have a way to pay for one without personal information. So this is just the push needed to run the script and the website on a proper server. I'll try and get it up and running when I have a spare couple of hours, and maybe use the opportunity to improve XJ-9K - although I have many other projects I'm actively working on so I generally just maintain XJ-9K for the past few years, rather than develop it." The new site uploads them to a server instead of Neocities', using a FreeDNS domain.

Going to use this thread to say: Spam pedo posts are genuinely starting to get uncanny as hell, and I'm not a person who gets the shivers easily. What do you have to study to make algorithms that detect this messed up soykaf? If that will help this place and maybe other ones I am willing to use my spare time to develop a solution for this.

I had been browsing the xj9k.bot.nu site and found a bunch of posts here: https://xj9k.bot.nu/posts/b0c64a26256ce5e35658de91f21c87a3/ Here: https://sportschan.org/v/thread/3262.html Somebody shortened the links in the post body the moment the thread got posted, unlike the other threads listed on XJ9K. If an anon user shortened the links, why would NSFW material be accepted on sportschan if their rules need updating? Uboachan (before thread #13691) had a better set of rules, Lainchan and TVChan have better rule lists, and there's always room for improvements somewhere else. >>13967 Same here. They've invaded /zzz/ and /hum/ and I've rarely get to report them on the fly; normally it's found on the site's homepage.
6277 · 2026-04-15 05:45
>>13975 >"Somebody shortened the links in the post body the moment the thread got posted, unlike the other threads listed on XJ9K." This is what I am referring to. They raised a login/auth block that's simply asking a person for their date of birth, thus showing up other problems in the internet accessibility field. Doesn't seem to be spam but an advertisement pitch.
Jean Dupont · 2026-06-13 06:19
There's tons of CP spam, but I haven't caught up on it ATM: https://xj9k.bot.nu/tags/cp/ Yes, there's so many of them reported, yet I haven't gotten to report then these days.
