If you never do anything in your bed except for sleep, it helps. If you're lying in bed for too long without sleeping get up and do something else for a while, don't use phone in bed during the day etc. Ideally don't be in the room at all except to sleep.
Melatonin helped me a lot but for some people it doesn't work that well. Getting more exercise during the day helps. Not using caffeine or alcohol helps. Going to bed at the same time every night, ending chains of obsessive thoughts, eating breakfast right after you wake up, all the rest of sleep hygiene stuff.

Try this. Go to bed, find a position that is comfortable enough, and then get lost in your thoughts, let your consciousness drift away, without any movement, even without moving your eyes. It'll take you about 20 minutes or so to fall asleep. It works for me every time, even when I have slept for 10+ hours before.

Sleep hypnosis, various meditations, long walks before sleep, tireing actions beforehand e.g. cleaning, journaling, reading
Depends what keeps you awake I guess. If it’s worried or anger write it down, watch some vids about it.
If it’s your body still stored energy physical activity and melatonin helps
