Why do good things must die? I remeber this chan being slow but not that fuarrrking slow. This chan is dead and boring. This used to be so good. Idc if you guys ban me but i'd rather have arisuchan back.
Shogun · 2021-10-08 07:30
Rightoids migrating from 8chan killed it.

>>10611 To be fair, 8chan's /fit/ was far superior to that of 4chan's and Reddit's various fitness subs. I tried redpilling 16chan in to opening a /fit/ since they're all about white supremacy, I made out if they wanted to be truly supreme they should take care of themselves and be fit and blah blah blah; however, they never made a /fit/ board. I'm still spending the most time on YouTube for fitness information and motivation, but 8chan really was a good /fit/. Reddit does have some good fitness subs, but it seethes with the political undertones Reddit is known for. Some people enjoy that, but I enjoyed 8chan more. I've thought about just starting my own imageboard website centered around fitness maybe using vichan, but I'm afraid of fools posting illegal content on my US server. I'm a normal person minded fitness buff on a chan site...

We all miss arisuchan. The tech boards are as actve as ever though (not that much).

>This chan is dead It's slow, not dead. >boring To each their own I suppose. >This used to be so good. Why's it bad now? >arisuchan Arisuchan at its peak was slower than present day Lainchan and constant namefagging by their mods made it boring for me but to each their own.
Debbie Charteris · 2021-10-10 01:14
>>10618 >It's slow, not dead. Well i should say dying slowly. >to each their own Why? Just bc you like tech does that mean /lit/ and /mu/ and others should be dead? >Why's it bad now? People on here used to be much more informative and talked in much better ways than now. I guess what >>10611 said is right. Too much supremacists and politic stuff not related to the board they're posting in. >Inb4 i know i did the same but i wanted answers more quickly on /b/ and not some sort of conspiracy bullshit. Apart from that i was venting anyway >Arisuchan at its peak was slower than present day Lainchan and constant namefagging by their mods made it boring for me but to each their own. But there were better users. I don't care a slow chan but slow and poor quality doesn't do it for me.

>>10611 Imagine posting bait on a site with a response time as slow as lainchan. I guess you have your answer OP.
Jens Hansen · 2021-10-10 14:59
>>10618 >Why's it bad now? It used to be a hub of cyberpunk-adjacent topics of conversation, from a wide variety of viewpoints. Now, /r/ and /hum/ are mostly just a sea of fashy ranting, frequently spilling out into the other boards. It's easier for those of us who aren't into that soykaf to simply walk away from the site entirely. I'm on the verge of doing so.

>>28574 The internet has not so subtly and very quickly become completely homogenized and consolidated- I don't think it's any big secret that little holes like this are going to continue to disappear one by one. For me personally i've seen the rise of Discord and small niche servers to be the spiritual successor anyway.
Lady Jessica · 2021-10-11 00:27
>>10625 Yet even small niche servers are beholden to the whims of the Master Controller. It's funny. I recall a slavic man telling me that there was a massive antivax community on tiktok fighting back or some retarded soykaf like that. I think he genuinely believed that those people weren't known of by the people working at TikTok and that they weren't just keeping them around because they generated revenue, while basically filtering them out of most normal people's feeds because only people interested in such things will even find them in the first place... on tik tok of all palces. Apply the same logic to here. All the niche servers are known by Discord staff, and they're only being momentarily allowed to exist on their platform for as long as the benefits of keeping them around does not outweight the costs.
Y.T · 2021-10-11 01:08
>>10626 Yeah... The one good thing I can think of, which is a double edged sword for obvious reasons, is that absolute bottom of the barrel brewing soykaf can be taken care of, but obviously there's a level of censorship that will naturally creep up... and it's only inevitable with bigger entities investing in it now, so its days as a semi-haven are numbered. That's honestly kind of funny about that tiktok guy. I scroll through an unhealthy amount and maybe once a week I see some kind of redflag or a response video to the "other side." Brigades are pretty common though of course.

>>10610 I've been interacting with others on the Internet less and less lately. Once I post enough times in a single thread, I must either stop or overwhelm the discussion. I'm becoming more concerned with maintaining my website. Lastly, I have a newer and much smaller group of people discussing distributed communications, but it seems like anonymous forums can't avoid having moderators, or must resort to proof-of-work. I'm slowly fading away to deeper and darker corners.

>>10624 >I'm on the verge of doing so. I have similar considerations. Do you have anywhere to go or are you leaving imageboards generally? I think about leaving and reading books, watching anime and meeting with friends more.

>>10612 >>10614 >missing one of the reasons Lainchan lost as much activity as it had lol >>10621 >Very few of the people on arisu weren't mods. >copying threads, and even responses, from here and post them there. >using SEO tactics to pull more people in using Google >temporarily "took over" various /cyb/ threads on other chans and changed all the links from ".org" to ".jp" then to "arisuchan" after. You think that place was good? That place was retarded. How amusing that a woman actually ruined everything. >nooooo I wanted to be a paypigarino Don't worry, I bet she still takes money on Discord. >>10629 Just leave imageboards and never come back. Go outside. Make friends relating to your hobbies. The alt-right imageboards are circle jerk retards with images that cycle between each other as if they were federations and for everything else, you can guarentee that when the staff let a women, who is public about being a woman, on board, they ruin the fuarrrking place.
HELIOS · 2021-10-12 22:12
I thought it was because of the correct move of removing some problematic threads, but gave it a check to all the small boards I liked and it seems like a trend. Don't want to think is because of discord but I guess it makes sense

>>10640 I did that too. It's good to just walk around while you're listening to music. Found it very relaxing. Even if you hate the city you're in. Just walk mindlessly.

>>10640 >>10642 I'm the lain who asked the question. I definitively spend more time on education and I care less about imageboards. Once you get some knowledge in a field, you see how big the LARP is and that sitting on imageboards is a waste of time. 40% autists, 40% sociopaths, 10% schizos and 9.5% underage LARPers, 0.5% people who actually know soykaf - this is what I think the social structure of imageboards looks like.

>>10644 I dominate in programming, so I've always contributed to /λ/ more than I've taken from it. Surprisingly, the most value I've gotten from Lainchan in a long time came from /lit/, in the form of a book recommendation which has changed my life. It's interesting how that happened where I didn't expect it. >40% autists, 40% sociopaths, 10% schizos and 9.5% underage LARPers, 0.5% people who actually know soykaf That's still better than the rest of the Internet, where the goal is usually to flood the forum with robots and normal people for advertising and general astroturfing purposes.

>>10640 >>10642 I started doing a degree alongside my job and it and excercise have really helped fill up the time I previously spent on videogames and mindless internet browsing I wish it was easier for autists to meet people in real life though, my only option ATM for socialising is a board games club once a week and its kind of hard to bring myself to go in when there's like 40 people there Maybe I should move somewhere bigger

>>10629 >>10624 This is what I did, I left. This is my first visit in at least half a year if not longer and I see no improvement. Every post I made was like an invitation for a pile-on of political activism and personal attacks that completely sidestepped whatever my main point was so I took my ball and found other children to play with. NOT on another imageboard I should add, this subculture has long passed its heyday. This used to be an interesting community with a userbase that had a variety of knowledge and experiences. Now it's just another forgettable *chan site.

>>10754 where have you gone since? I found that my socialization needs are easily met with penpals and the such. I found a couple of forums that caught my eye, but yeah. Imageboards seem dead for good. Even the tiny ones. Even tumblr feels less habitable now, not that tumblr is much of a habitable zone to begin with-- I have different standards for engagement there. We move on, we hopefully make something good of it.
Drano · 2021-12-13 22:16
>>10775 I haven't found any worthwhile open communities recently, but that might be a function of growing older and already having long distance friends, plus not needing to reach out for some "scene" or other as much as before. I have snail mail penpals too. As for tumblr, that was an act of corporate suicide on their part back in '17 but there are a few blogs there I lurk on still.
