Currently ongoing spam

Some idiot is killing off threads by spamming >>>/Δ/ . Also it might be useful to raise the thread reporting limit, because I don't think making individual or multiple batched reports is a reasonable way to deal with that.

It's not just >>>/Δ/ anymore. We should probably archive worthwhile threads somehow so this kind of idiocy doesn't kill-off decent threads.

Probably the manlet who owns soyjak.party, see; https://soyjak.party/raid//res/8527.html

>>10324 Maybe applemann should consider moving to an engine that doesn't delete threads at all? This is just retarded no matter how you look at it.

>>10328 >I don't know soykaf so maybe someone should talk to him and collaborate on github. An imageboard is comically trivial software to write in non-insane (read: non-PHP) languages. A full replacement in a real language would be a better approach.

>>10355 Perhaps something will come of some of the newer threads about implementing new IBs. I don't particularly feel like digging into PHP source for fairly obvious reasons.

>>10389 >Perhaps something will come of some of the newer threads about implementing new IBs. I think the traditional anonymous imageboard format has no real future. Admining one is pure stress. Storage requirements can be heavy on an inexpensive VPS, especially if videos are allowed. Moderation of a busy imageboard is like trying to bail out the Titanic with a shot glass. I see more of a future for a sort of "pastebin forum plus curators" concept. Pure text, so easier on server resources and impossible to spam with blatantly illegal soykaf. The text-only aspect also means that there's no need to remove old threads to save on storage space, interesting threads can live forever. Instead of moderators spending time pruning worthless threads from a frontpage, have users acting as ad-hoc curators - no other power on the server aside from adding to a chronological list of threads they find interesting. Other people can follow or unfollow curators as they like. The only real difficulty is enabling curators to discover interesting threads without having to spend hours per day manually scanning through new threads. I've been giving that some thought. If I hit on a good solution I'll build such a service. The hard part isn't the coding, it's in the design. Perhaps some sort of keyword-alert system, if it can avoid being gamed. >I don't particularly feel like digging into PHP source for fairly obvious reasons. I don't know you but I like you already.

>>10391 >illegal links No such thing in many legal jurisdictions, including the one I live in. The contents at the linked site may be illegal, but the link itself is not.
