Lainchan hidden boards.

Hitomi · 2021-06-23 14:17
I know there is a /lain/ board that is hidden and doesn't appear at the top of the page like other boards do. But I am wondering if there are any other boards that are also hidden.

/lain/ existed both on old and new lainchan /test/ existed both on old and new lainchan /sekrit/ existed only on old lainchan, and nsfw was allowed without spoilers there, but it was really just high tier memeposting /ht/ "high test" aka high testosterone existed on old lainchan, was the closest this place had to a porn board, but the only allowed content were what would be /s/ on other boards There was a board on old lainchan dedicated to japanese (or chinese?) posting but apparently it was pathetic self-taught japanese weebs talking incorrect japanese with each other so everyone hated it. Secret boards aren't secret or cool anymore because Appleman1234 didn't remake /sekrit/, and because the site is way more autistic and much less wild now than it was then.

>>10224 OK SATAN but I could have sworn old lainchan also had a board with a complete listing of secret boards. I thought there were like 5 or 6 in total
Otto Normalverbraucher · 2021-06-23 20:43
>>10224 Checked. Also appleman made all boards secret and nobody liked that. Does /tay/ stil exist?
Linda Lee · 2021-06-23 22:25
>>10224 OP here. Oh wow I didn't know about all these boards. Also do you have any screenshots of posts on /sekrit/ and /ht/ boards. Also I keep seeing about people mentioning "old lainchan", and I am wondering what they mean by that...
Ender · 2021-06-23 22:27
>>10224 Also can you tell me how the "new lainchan" is more autistic than the old lainchan and how was the old lainchan was more wild than the new one...
Neo · 2021-06-23 22:34
>>10228 It's not more autistic, it's just full of high schoolers now. I blame the lockdowns and global boredom.
Ein · 2021-06-23 22:37
>>10229 Oh ok, but then how was the old lainchan more "wild". And what do you mean by "old lainchan" anyway? You mean this site or was it a separate site?

>>10227 >Also I keep seeing about people mentioning "old lainchan", and I am wondering what they mean by that... I hope I don't get derezzed for this, but there was a point when Kalyx realized he had admin and wiped the entire site for the luls, appleman was pissed, and there was also an alternate website set up where all links here were made, which resulted in a lainchan schism, and as of a few years ago kalyx was still talking about how lainchan was trash on 4/g/
Neuromancer · 2021-06-23 23:40
>>10232 Oh wow didn't know there was so much lainchan lore. And is https://archive.arisuchan.jp/, anyhow related to lainchan? Also are there any places where I can know more about all of the "lore" and the drama that happened at lainchan?
J.C. Denton · 2021-06-23 23:46
>>10232 That was the alternate lainchan site that was associated with ALL links here, If you clicked on a board on here it would redirect you to the other URL. This went on for a few weeks. I believe talking about it is against the rules though. This all happened some time in like late 2016 or 2017 IIRC. For a while the other site was more popular I believe, and after a while it had better web design, but then a few years ago as I recall spammers and trolls started fuarrrking with the owner and admins until they finally decided to kill the site.
Ivan Horvat · 2021-06-24 00:11
>>10233 You ever see the banner where kalyx talks about backups of the site and the backups? Yeah that pretty much explains it. Rule 6 even talks about >Do not whine and cry about 8chan, lainchan.jp, "quality", "invasions", "new users", mods, bans, or kalyx outside of /q/.

>>10239 Ok, so who founded Lainchan and why they decided to make a specifically a lain/cyberpunk imageboard? I know that some imageboards do april fool pranks/events, I am wondering if they were any at lainchan? How was arisuchan different from lainchan and why was it shut down? A previous poster in this said that, in the "old" lainchan, there was a /sekrit/ hidden board, I am wondering how come they didn't add that board to this "new" lainchan? Also are the boards /lain/ and /test/ the only hidden boards on this website? Also I am wondering when lainchan was first made? Did lainchan have any controversies, or drama during its existence? I know that on some imageboards, trolls will go on and post cp, just to get them shut down, has this ever happened to lainchan? So the other guy in the thread said that Kalyx was another admin that shut down the "old" lainchan, why did he do that?

>>10240 Please note my answers to your questions are short because of limited time, not because I am trying to leave stuff out. I will post longer answers at a later time. Who founded Lainchan ? Kalyx founded Lainchan on April 20 2014. Slightly before that there was a Volafire room that Kalyx and the old guard frequently with Kalyx's friend called Lain. Kalyx wanted a replacement for 4chan's /g/ and making the imageboard cyberpunk themed was one way to achieve that. It isn't the only reason they decided to make Lainchan cyberpunk/ lain themed. Yes in the past there were April Fools pranks / events on Lainchan. We still have events on Lainchan, but April Fools tends not to be one of them, because it is so close to Lainchan's birthday. Arisuchan's main difference was some CSS styling, and its choice of moderation team, which consisted originally of Seph and several of her supporters, then consisted of some additional Russisans from a different imageboard, then consisted of Kalyx and the old guard. The other major difference was the lack of using overboard to merge related content instead just having combination boards. It was shutdown by Kalyx because he didn't want to moderate it any more, it was given to Kalyx to moderate when Seph became more focused on spending her time in VRChat instead of running an imageboard. The was wipe of Lainchan, by Kalyx which lost content including the /sekrit/ board. It was caused by him received a Reset password email for something that he should have forwarded to me but instead he didn't and he formatted the server. We had backups, but the backups were on the server and the off site backups had stopped copying to their offsite location for unknown reasons. When asked for his reasoning, he did it for the lulz. When I recreated the boards after the wipe, sekrit wasn't recreated with the others. There are more hidden boards than /lain/ or /test/. For when lainchan was first made see my earlier answer. Yes Lainchan had several controversies and drama during its existence, including various wars with other boards, the Jinteki incident, the Arisuchan betrayal and vandalism, the board wipe, and various other drama. Yes trolls have posted soykaf content on Lainchan, no it hasn't gotten us shutdown. See earlier answer regarding the why for the board wipe.
