i agree. /hum/ is now inhumanity. /r/ was supposed to serve after /civ/.

>waaaah people have opinions I don't like, stop it Limits on the amount of political discussion are okay, but this just comes off as whining because someone disagreed with you.
Marly Krushkhova · 2017-12-17 03:35
mods seriously need to make /r/ the politics board. it's trashing what /hum/ is usually about.
Dr. X · 2017-12-17 17:29
Why do people here even want to talk about politics? Is there any meaningful political discussion to be had about politics on an image board? >>5159 I'm glad there's no politics board. Were such a board to exist, I feel like that sends a message of: "yes please have such discussion on lain". I guess it would enable people like me to avoid it entirely. but I feel it almost gives a space for >>5155 to brew.

>>5159 I don't believe that would be a good idea at all. >>5161 There's nothing wrong with free speech but politics usually end up being flame wars and personal attacks.
The Oracle · 2017-12-20 17:42
>>5163 >There's nothing wrong with free speech And yet you want to repress certain speech you deem "too political". Pro tip: you can't evade politics. Even in traditionally non-political fields like technology nowadays you will sooner or later get involved in politics which is proven by the rise of all those SJW games, Code of Conducts in Open Source development and many more things. Another good examples are Gamer Gate and the Google Memo. >politics usually end up being flame wars and personal attacks. It is that kind of attitude that benefits the ruling elite because it makes important topics like white genocide impossible to discuss.

>>5160 I hate users.

>>5164 >It is that kind of attitude that benefits the ruling elite because it makes important topics like white genocide impossible to discuss. It's these kind of statements made by delusional alt-righters that makes people want to enforce a big separation between hate speech and free speech.

>>5166 White people not wanting to get genocided is now "hate speech," huh. Why not just kill yourself, leftist scum?
The Plague · 2017-12-25 01:58
>>5160 People often feel strongly about politics, and feel the need to express their strongly-held opinions or beliefs to others. Even when (or particularly when) they aren't changing anyone's mind, either by preaching to the choir or engaging in flamewars with political 'enemies' that they will never convert.
