random surprise maintenance of the IRC service. why wasnt this announced ahead of time? not even in /q? we just got a reboot and thats it?
are there plans to notify users in the future? is there a plan to make this service HA?

It wasn't announced ahead of time, because it wasn't scheduled maintenance.
In future scheduled maintenance will have advance notification, define HA, because currently the service has a sufficient level of 9s for the lack of SLA that it has.

I feel like all lainchan services should strive to be +1, but perhaps thats not reasonable. At the time of posting we have 83 users on the server, so i think the SLA might need to be revisited.
