#childlove on lainchan irc
Cereal Killer · 2017-06-14 00:29
How could this possibly ok? I don't even feel comfortable bringing it up in the main channel.
I'm not the only one uncomfortable:
[09:47] <crunsher> Why do we have #childlove AND #pedo
[14:34] <Lisbeth> So I'm a bit unnerved at the channel name #childlove
[17:24] <GyroW> is there really a childlove channel on this server...?
Worst of all, it even has Appleman's blessing:
[09:11] <@Appleman1234> Please take your discussions about child love to #childlove
[16:39] <@Appleman1234> and take the child love discussion to #childlove please

What the fuarrrk.
You know a site is going down hill when it welcomes "Child Love"
HELIOS · 2017-06-14 01:50
It's more containment than anything else. While I don't understand why we don't just IP ban them, we have two to three actual pedos who love to soykafpost about wanting to fuarrrk kids. It's the same as /civ/ in a basic sense, other than the ostensible difference between edgy Nazi users and pedophiles.
Cypher · 2017-06-14 01:51
So long as no member of Lainchan becomes involved with anything illegal and it's is kept to the relevant fora I strongly believe that removing or banning discussion for moral reasons would be a mistake.

This used to be a technology site.
While we still get our share of that, we've been too forgiving for the sake of "freedom of speech" or something and let politics and pedophilia become actual themes in this place.
I don't think we should ban these topics "for moral reasons" but to keep the character of the site and to keep a reasonable standard for discussion.

There has been a strong political aspect to Lainchan since its inception, in fact I would argue that it's actually less political now than under the old administration.
Either way, I don't consider it a political issue. It's not a board on the site, or even endorsed in any way, the whole debacle is over a small handful of users in a channel on lainchan's irc server. The character of the imageboard itself remains unchanged.
The irc has always been far more loosely moderated than the site, and is where chess club members take their booze and weed, so to speak. There has not been any problem in maintaining the seemingly conflicting cultures of high-effort posts on the board and relaxed discussions in irc, it's only when people bring irc issues onto the board that users begin questioning the nature of Lainchan. The two have different cultural expectations and I don't expect to see any discussion regarding the practice of paedophilia on the actual site any time soon.
Linda Lee · 2017-06-14 03:12
The channel has less than 6 individuals, several of which aren't pedos but lurk. The channel does not contain child pornography or anything remotely illegal. There are only probably 4 pedophiles on the server, whom are legitimate lainchan.org users and mean well. It exists because the topic of pedophilia kept coming up in #lainchan (still does) and some were uncomfortable by this and so #childlove was created by someone (now no one has op in there)

>slippery slope fallacy ad nauseum.
Just an excuse for people too afraid to rock the boat. Lock the channels and redirect to an onion messageboard on the same topic, I assume there are plenty.
True censorship is wrong, but nobody is actually being prevented from presenting their opinions, there is simply a place and time for everything.
If anyone still has Tsutsukakushi's blog, you should probably link to that, if you're interested in the kind of discussions being hosted on what I assume is the very same VPS as lainchan.
Crashoverride's site also has a least a few fairly long irc logs if you are the kind of person who needs the raw data to form your own opinions (you should be that kind of person)
Overall, I personally don't agree with it, while I most definitely support the discussion of pedophilia, every single person in the world should be allowed to present their viewpoints on a subject and talk about it. Really, pedophilia is a mental illness, and completely ostracizing these people is not an effective solution. However, if you look at all the other available options, of which there are many (host your own goddamn irc for one), no body is really being prevented from speaking, just being told to go somewhere else. It's the internet equivalent of being thrown out of a bar, everyone else in the bar is sick of your soykaf.
The final, and most important point, is that it is in no way lainchan related. I know that's a pretty loose term and is subject to change, but I can not for the life of me think where "childlove" fits in with the website as it stands.
Polite name user, I feel that where this advice is coming from will be relevant to a lot of users, and I know that there are a lot of bad feelings on both sides, but I still do genuinely care about the website, so please, if you're going to attack something, attack the opinions, not the person presenting them.

Lavabit was an intelligence issue.
Actually, the real question is has the FBI seized an IRC server and monitored everyone because of pedophiles? No. Even though the FBI had tips going to Undernet and EFnet in the past, a subpoena was sent. I'm only aware of instances the FBI monitored public channels to arrest DDoS attackers. It does that soykaf because it can get away with it, like, since Edward Snowden was connected to Lavabit. Hackers have no rights, I can agree with that. But as unlikely as it seems, the FBI isn't as abusive about pedophiles. It would submit a subpoena based on probable cause. Failing to and also shutting services down would be a rare and severe misconduct. It can be argued, despite with difficulty, it wasn't negligence, it was bad faith.
Unspecified · 2017-06-14 07:51
I think the issue is that Appleman refuses to come here and make an official statement for or against allowing an IRC channel for pedophiles.
If he is against, he literally just has to add a rule to IRC saying anyone talking about pedophilia would be derezzed and enforce it. Simple as that.
By the thread it seems the community is genuinely concerned. Please respond.

The channel in question was made so that discussion leaning too much into paedophilic territory could be directed out of the general channels.
Now that there exists a concrete target instead of random comments made by various users the knives have come out.

it is when you have a channel dedicated to it.
Which is pretty much actively inviting people to discuss it.
"Containment board/channel" is not an argument, you could argue that /civ/ was a containment board, and look at lainchan now.
Vasya Pupkin · 2017-06-14 18:32
>>3824
there are, unfortunately, a few pedos that are regular members of the #lainchan channel, which is why those channels exist: as has been stated, as a containment - because almost every time the pedos named in >>3808 bring up the topic, the conversation devolves into numerous calls of 'please go away' and defensiveness from the pedos, and soykafs up the channel.
I'm for the channels being deleted and pedo discussion being outlawed in general - there are forums for this, and lainchan is not one of them - but I just want to clarify that the channels are not there as a direct endorsement of pedophilia or a reflection of Appleman's views on pedophilia (for those that believe that he is). Instead, they're there because banning is not really something that tends to happen in #lainchan.

We already have something which could attract the attention of a Law Enforcement Agency: /drg/, which has more users and interaction than these ~4 pedophiles. #childlove is a channel for anyone to discuss pedophilia or their love of children, platonically or otherwise. Though it must be stated, I've never seen these pedophiles say anything incredibly graphic.
Per rule 8: Do not post child pornography or questionable 2D/3DCG/3DPG sexual depictions of children. This includes "child models".
This hasn't been violated, and if it was, Appleman would take appropriate action, as he always does. Immediate action isn't necessary in this situation given the context.

>The final, and most important point, is that it is in no way lainchan related.
It is lainchan related in that it's a channel for pedos on lainchan. No one has made any effort of bringing pedos from elsewhere in. Just because there wasn't a specific channel for it before doesn't mean we didn't exist. In fact people often complained that the discussion about paedophilia should be on it's own channel, now that it is people are crying about the channel.
It's also ironic since most of the paedophile discussions on #lainchan seem to originate from the few paedophile haters.

The reply may be considered long and hence TLDR by some posters. The TLDR for the reply : Lots of complicated background information, if you only care about outcomes see section 7, and wait for the follow up reply that specifies what action has been taken.
The summary for this reply is as follows
1. Factoids and Misconceptions
2. The proposals suggested so far.
3. Replies to points made in the thread
4. Possible courses of action
5. Additional issues
6. Other related threads.
7. Probable outcomes
1. Factoids and Misconceptions
Firstly the IRC and the image board are not the same venue and don't have the same rules.
Implying that the rules on the image board magically carry over to the IRC server is incorrect.
As stated below Rules 8 and Rule 9 were implicitly carried over, and the rules for the IRC Server will need to be updated to be more explicit based on the feedback from this post.
The IRC server was created in order to host the Lainchan Administration conversation platform on an Open Source platform as opposed to Slack at the request of several of the Lainchan Administration team including members that have left and gone to lainchan.jp and have now moved back from IRC to Telegram, and any other channels were just considered an added bonus.
Also previously on the IRC server anyone was allowed to make both registered and unregistered IRC channels and run those channels , so long as they obeyed the server rules, however based on the feedback of this post, that may no longer be the case.
This isn't the same with boards on the image board, because we are not 8chan, and the official procedure for getting a board added to Lainchan whether hidden or on the board list, involves making sufficient posts about a topic in /r/ as an indication of demand, as well has finding a staff member willing to moderate said board, and providing a definition of post relevance and post quality for said board.
See the /r/ thread in section 6 for more information but in short the IRC community, image board community, Mumble community, etc are different communities with some overlap.
Secondly the difference between #lainchan IRC channel on Freenode and its successor on irc.lainchan.org and Lainchan image board.
Thirdly the #lainchan IRC cultural legacy and its backstory.
The #lainchan IRC channel on Freenode was a lot of different things to a lot of different people, and it was its own little IRC world, where shitposting that wasn't tolerated on the imageboard was encouraged, and the only rule that I was told (after surveying lainons for over 6 months, and asking former Lainchan founder and staff) of was the 33% shitposting, 33% quality discussion and 33% comfy rule.
In making the #lainchan channel on irc.lainchan.org, I have tried to keep #lainchan in the same spirit as the original channel, the main difference being the difference in enforcement of rules, e.g.
Freenode had people that were given OP because kalyx chose them and no other reason, and they were given full autonomy with no accountability for their actions to ban and kick and shitpost as they saw fit.
Currently no such OPs exist in #lainchan on irc.lainchan.org and the channel is largely unmoderated, though I do attempt to gently mitigate spamming and other complaints, and I am looking for people that want to be OP on #lainchan and can demonstrate their restraint / inaction / gentleness in their approach.
This is in contrast to #general for General Discussion that is a moderated channel with rules that are actively moderated and a such it is normally quite quiet in comparison.
The whole reason #childlove and #pedo and #girltime exist was because specific individuals would not stop being militant about their pedophilia in #lainchan, and in addition to the subject being pedophilia, it was this militant attitude of always bringing the topic up, or private messaging people without asking them and bringing the topic up, which lead to people in the IRC making complaints about those actions being uncomfy, and my enforcement of the you are being uncomfy take it elsewhere request.
However this was interpreted as being channel specific by the person I asked to take their conversation elsewhere instead of server specific, so first they made the unregistered channel of #pedo, then no liking the connotations of that made the unregistered channel on #girllove.
#girltime was made separately by other people that just wanted a place where they could shit post about their daily lives and if they happened to mention the girltime image board by accident it wouldn't be a big deal, and was actually registered.

I don't condone CP, and it doesn't matter whether I condone or condemn CP, what matters is what this community and their communication platforms rules are regarding this issue and the enforcement of those rules.
For the image board these are currently well defined, explicitly stated and established, however this isn't the case for the IRC server to date, because other than then implicit statement that the Rules 8 and 9 from the image board

>Appleman makes it out like it's this huge complicated mess when it's really not. Delete the channel and move on. It's not that hard. And if it is hard, why is he administrator?
I am not making out that anything is anything. If you are reading logs from IRC then you are reading information said in context, and you may not have a full understanding of that context when interpreting logs, which is why analyst positions exist in organisations for people whose day job it is to take raw data / logs and information and turn it into actionable intelligence or summarized information that can be used to benefit the organisation.
Difficulty of the actions required is also misunderstood here, but that is beside the point.

>>>3771
>>And if it is hard, why is he administrator?

I didn't pop up of nowhere, I have been on the IRC for at least 1.5 years, and I had been viewing and posting on the chan since 2015, I wasn't the first person kalyx mentioned selling it to, I just happened to go to the effort of following thorough on the offer.

I don't wonder why people call me incompetent most of the time, because most of the people calling incompetent (that are not rule 4 breaking drive soykaf slingers), actually elaborate on their reasoning and provide me with constructive criticism and feedback so I can improve my lack of competency.
>>>3787
>POST LOGS. People will not understand the gravity of the situation until they see it firsthand.
Posting logs on the image board has been traditionally culturally frowned upon because of all the drama it generated, when people complete post logs with good intentions, and then people see those logs and think these logs are too long to read, and other people summarize these logs in a manner that is full of soundbites and bite sized pieces , but removes the original context from the quotes, leaving misinterpretation and misunderstanding as very likely outcomes.

In terms of your line drawing question, see the response under additional issues, e.g. issues with the reef band proposal's initial definition.
Last I checked, I was both literate and not retarded, and hence capable of reading and writing a reply to your post.
I can't find the link you are posting in either server logs or in my client logs, though this may be a misconfiguration on my part.
The linked image you mentioned is not as far as I know a sexual depiction of a child, in that their is no sexual act taking place, as well as no nudity.
That said I can see how a person could consider the image as a sexualized depiction of a child, but that is imparting their personalized morality on the image subjectively, which falls under the questionable category.
Though the posting of this image wasn't reported to me outside of this thread, and so far and the logs that have been posted contain 3 girltime links which are also non sexualized depictions of a child/children.
I don't believe the girltime links were posted in #lainchan, which means the containment was working.
Your point of line drawing , which you try and iterate with this image is covered in section 6.

4. Possible courses of action

5. Tolerate them as long as they are in not violating rules in other channels and abide by the server rules
https://a.safe.moe/7KO3Q.jpg
5. Additional issues
Just because I list an issue here, doesn't mean I have provided a full elaboration and just because I have asked a question doesn't mean that don't already have answers for it.
1. Issues with the Reef Band Proposal
The terms used are not defined or specified.
What is the definition of
1. Ban
2. A pedo
3. All pedos
What makes a channel a pedo channel ?
2. Issues with the Biyeophile Proposal
Lock all the channels, but not delete them ? Doesn't deal with the creation of new channels ?
Redirect conversation elsewhere to onion message board ? Do we even want to have a redirect ? Which onion message board ?
3. Issues raised in the IRC discussion
This is a witch hunt based on emotional and personal subjectivity morality , under the argument the majority of people also share that emotional and subjective morality.
If we are banning people based on a witchhunt , then several users want all the following things banned by the same argument.
* All sexual discussion
* All liberals, marxists, anarchists, and communists.
* Non-free software users
* Americans
* Women
* Drug users
* <insert other group user doesn't like here>
The following quote from IRC.
E.g.
It's not a matter of oppression, it's banning for nothing other than hurt feelings which is the problem.
The Free Speech issue vs Censorship issue.
Some people believe that all internet communities inherently allow free speech and assume the free speech people can talk / post whatever they like without consequences and can militantly force their views on others.
Democracy vs Benevolent Oligarchy and its role within Lainchan issue
Freedom vs Control issue.
Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.

Previous thread about this topic:
b0b's complaint about getting a 1 day ban in #general for whistleblowing / witchhunting

7. Probable outcomes
Based on the discussion above, the following outcomes are likely
1. The rule breaking posts in this thread will be publicly warned.
2. The IRC Server rules will be updated to be more explicit.
They feature the rule 8 and rule 9 explicitly, the will also feature the
People are people, Lainon are Lainons , Lain is Lain. Lets all Love motto, I keep repeating regarding tolerance and clauses against being militant or uncivil in one's conduct on the IRC server.
3. Based on the recommendations of several of the Lainchan administration team and discussion with several other users, a variant of the Reefband proposal is likely to be taken.
E.g.
Channel white list to stop people from making new channels will be deployed as part of the IRC server configuration. The 3 channels mentioned earlier will be deleted, and if registered will be dropped with services by being deleted and blacklisted.
Regarding server bans, I am not yet decided on whether retroactive banning will take place or only bans for future offenses , and whether banning will be channel specific, server specific or mutebans or full bans.
I still don't have a criteria for which Lainons to ban based on which rule breaches, and as far as I know the other only Lainons that could be banned based on interpretations Rule 8 and Rule 9 are kek, and arguably Tsutsukakushi if you equate text with images.
As for lainons that should be banned on being overly militant towards their fellow lainons, that list is much longer, but probably won't be used as a basis for retroactive banning.
How will these actions impact #lainchan's cultural heritage and bubble ? That is a good question.

That's pretty much it. Appleman is _very_ autistic in the sense that he's super-detached from normal society and the notion of social norms being a thing.
He doesn't understand why people are upset, he just sees "drama". And then, since he has no facility with actually e.g. keeping track of what people want and why, he tries to create abstract formal structures and tries to goad people into following them as "the rules" or "the procedures". He also does this to compensate for his total lack of organizational ability but that's an unrelated matter, in this case.
Now, this is a thing that can work. But it only works insofar as you keep track of what people actually _want_ and then channel that into such structures. Most of us have an intuitive understanding of what other people want because we try to figure out what the social norms are and then either comply with them or use them to our advantage depending on our temperament.
Appleman does not do this at all.
The fact that most people simply don't want even slight association with pedophiles eludes him, and thus people need to explain this fact to him.(USER WAS WARNED FOR THIS POST (Rule 3,4) Avoid personal attacks, Elaborate on your opinions.)

My opinion:
In any course of action, the IRC server is in dire need of clearly-defined rules on the sexualization of minors discussion on things that could be potentially considered abuse. What kek posted in #childlove was absolutely not okay, and anything along those lines should be a perma-bannable offense.
I would also hate to see bans handed out to anyone who doesn't deserve one. Iwakura and crash_override are both people who have driven discussion for a long time. A person should be judged, not by ephemeral things like their race, gender, or sexuality, but by their actions, and in this case especially their eagerness or aversion to harming another person.
Course of actions #1 and #2 are plain stupid. There's no reason to take destructive action for an issue that can be fixed in a much better way. Course of action #4 is just a wet noodle version of CoA #3.
So, from my point of view, it boils down to two options: tighten moderation on #childlove to ensure that what has happened cannot happen again, or delete #childlove and move to a whitelisting channel-creation method. I favour the latter personally because it would be more consistent with other moderation (the stream policy, the IRC server's bot policy). If someone wants an open-creation IRC server, they can always use an existing one (freenode, rizon) or host their own.

I can't believe this bullsoykaf. He's gone through the entire thread and warned people who criticize him or "create drama" as he sees it.
I have never seen a worse case of total lack of interpersonal skills or grace. My uncle's wife who is genuinely autistic is more able at navigating situations like this. A _child_ could make better decisions re. what to do without pissing people off.
It's actually rather unbelievable.
Mentat · 2017-06-16 17:03
Did any of you actually read his post? He wants to do more than just banning people to make sure this doesn't happen again but he isn't just going to go ahead and make big changes to the IRC without thinking it through first. Nah, screw that, let's just soykaf on the guy because he doesn't have good presentation skills, because what you really need in your admin isn't a level headed sensible guy, it's a crowd pleaser.
Anyway, to something productive. I'm not so sure about whitelisting IRC channels myself. I don't like the thought that people will have to jump through hoops to make a channel just because some pedo fuarrrks took advantage of our hospitality. Better just to make this explicitly against the rules and deal with any problem channels as they arise, imo. Still, not a big deal either way, just glad to know something is going to be done.

Discussions of that type, first of all, the blog is not a discussion, so why would I use that word? Second of all, if I were referring to the blog, I would simply say "If you are interested in the content", because if I were linking to the actual content itself, what type of content it was would become immediately apparent as you read it. Anything can be misinterpreted, if you think that "at best" that was a poorly worded misunderstanding, you're an idiot, and if you think it even comes close to deliberate misinformation, fuarrrk you.
I suggested locking the channels because it seems to be an approach you are fairly comfortable with.
To clarify, (this is no longer necessary, since >>3833 exists, just fuarrrking read it) I was trying to give users an objective frame of reference so that they could decide for themselves whether or not they thought the discussion was appropriate, in lieu of linking to the actual discussion, which would have been preferred. (and is now possible) So, here is the revised post.
Some kind anon has posted logs of the channel in this thread, here. >>3833 If you are interested IN THE EXACT DISCUSSIONS being hosted BY THIS EXACT VPS, then you can read them there.

I wasn't going to post a reply with a summary of actions taken until they were all taken, but since you want the blow by blow and are impatient, here you go
So far
1. The rule breaking posts in this thread will be publicly warned.
2. The IRC Server rules will be updated to be more explicit.
have both been taken, and the configuration of the IRC sever is being updated presently (right now) with the new blacklist and whitelist information that is currently being reviewed.
For your first point see Rule 19, for your second point third item, other than Tsutsukakushi (that has posted in this thread , rather militantly) and kek (that based on the logs in this thread, posted links to questionable images in #childlove, but nowhere else), can you clarify who you are referring to and why they should be derezzed ?
As I said in my previous post.

You are not working with me, you are just complaining that I haven't done exactly what you want or expect on your time frame.
>I thought the drama from before was stupid little bs between mods but seeing Appleman's lack of action is sad.
The only lack of action is the imagined lack of action because you don't see the action being taken, and stuff that happens out of sight, is out of mind.

Actually, appleman has autism, except whiteline fails to understand what autism is. As far as I know, Appleman selects other autistic people to mod, such as lisp and someone else I forgot. Whiteline's comment is mostly negative instead of cooperative to show the autistic person how they're illogical on a social decision.
How whiteline(?) is being a jerk:
>Appleman is _very_ autistic in the sense that he's super-detached from normal society and the notion of social norms being a thing.
In reality, Appleman interacts daily with normal society and knows social norms exist, but doesn't pay fortified attention to them since they're typically incomprehensible to him.
>Since he has no facility with actually e.g. keeping track of what people want and why, he tries to create abstract formal structures and tries to goad people into following them as "the rules" or "the procedures".
Appleman as an autistic likes robotic conduct and operations. Autistics usually are very concrete people, not abstract, which is why they're usually literal, caring of definitions, and detailed in procedures.
>But it only works insofar as you keep track of what people actually _want_ and then channel that into such structures. Most of us have an intuitive understanding of what other people want because we try to figure out what the social norms are and then either comply with them or use them to our advantage depending on our temperament.
Appleman does channel what people want into his decisions but he doesn't admit to us, in a way we expect, that he is bad at it overall. A legitimate argument is he still doesn't accept that advice from ex-staff members are frequently better than his suggestions.
Anyway, the main point I want Appleman to get from this is he needs to cooperate with other people's feelings, even if he thinks they're illogical. He should recognize his literal or routine thinking is sometimes wrong for social situations and his expectation for people to obey very odd routines is mistaken. Neurotypical aren't autistics, so you need to respect that, and how they'e different. He should abate his some of his managerial role and allow people who understand politics to manage or process certain social issues, like those with high social pressure.
Personally I agree that Appleman shouldn't ban the pedos, except Tsutsukakushi who admitted he downloaded a huge quantity of child pornography and crash_override for linking child models. The channel can remain, monitored, since I have no issue with pedophiles merely discussing children through text, as long as I don't see it.

I have talked to Appleman quite a bit, in bits and pieces over a long period of time. He utterly refuses to recognize that he has any impairment or indeed, that there is anything odd or different about how he does these things.
He simply has a complete lack of insight - regarding how Lainchan is run for example, he simply constantly states that "things are complicated" when it is actually his crippled incompetence that makes it complicated - and he is too far down the hole to realize that it would not be so for other people.
He also takes any criticism as a personal attack and also resorts to a threatening tone in private when trying to deal with this - he cannot deal with his own emotions and it frequently seems like tearful child-like anger is always hovering beneath the surface during such conversations. He has no depth in his emotional processing and that is sometimes frightening and creepy.
I can accept autistic people - indeed, my own autistic tendencies is what allows me to empathize with him at all, many other people simply treat him like a stupid golem - but an autistic person without self-insight and who refuses to embark on any self-reflection that would give him such, cannot be reasoned with.
And treating autistic people in the way you suggest - being "understanding" of their "non-neurotypicality" and so on is equivalent to reducing them to children or animals which is something I refuse to do.

It's an issue of tone. I treat him like a person who has chosen a position in life for which he is utterly unsuited. You use that "middle-aged social worker lady" tone and vocabulary to talk about him, which I detest.
Also I am 100% aware of everything you said about autism. One of the things you missed was the concept of "weak central coherence" which I think is central to why Appleman approaches things the way he does. He simply cannot integrate details into a whole, and therefore resort to building these horrifyingly baroque procedures to plaster over the holes between his thoughts.
Roger Pollack · 2017-06-17 05:31
>>3973
Before I get out of this dumb argument, that tone is completely self-perceived. My /social worker tone/ is instead an objective, emotionally neutral refutation because you wrote a strong black and white depiction of Appleman's autism, which is frequently the case in people who want to dehumanize autistics on account of their personality faults. I don't buy your "I respect autistics and you don't" bullsoykaf one bit. whiteline · 2017-06-17 05:37

It is indeed a stupid argument and yes, the parallel with right-wingers and so on is spot-on analysis tbh.
It's simply showing respect via displaying/asserting aggression openly as it where which is roughly the same thing as when the nazi-conservatives go "oh durr we ain't gonna pat the negroes on the head with no social programs."

Mmm. This is why I am so upset, even though I have no personal experience of molestation. Some people do not understand that pedophiles constitute such a huge threat and tries to equate it to homosexuality or such.
But just look at those logs - we have a pedophile who freely admits that he lives within close range of several schools and that he seeks out contact with children to play with them. This sounds innocent until you remember that he is in fact sexually and romantically attracted to them in the same way as most men are to adult women.
He's also said that he won't "do anything until they take the initiative" - but that is the reason that many nations have grooming laws - you can groom a kid and the pedo can keep pushing the limits more and more (goaded on and helped by the 'acceptance' they find at places such as #childlove) until it's close enough to "the kid took the initiative" and "our love for each other was real/we had a relationship" for them to absolve themselves of guilt.
It's sickening to think about but in order to face this threat head-on one has to force oneself to.

Some people do not understand that child abusers constitute such a huge threat and tries to equate it to paedophilia or such. According to the ACF only 8.4% (see first image) of all victims were sexually abused and of those only between ~13.7% and ~15.8% (see second image) were psychologically maltreated. I can also imagine that they're taking alcoholics who aren't necessarily paedophiles into account. [1]
The perpetrators we're talking about are those who act on their feelings, not all paedophiles. In fact most prefer not to have sexual contact with prepubescent boys or girls because of ethical or legal issues. Of course finding accurate numbers for that is very difficult for obvious reasons.

In addition to the actions mentioned in the previous post
>>3950
The following additional actions have been taken.
All 3 channels have been locked either using Services functionality for registered channels or IRC Server functionality for unregistered channels.
Yes I used a CHANKILL command which temporarily derezzed people (for 5 seconds) in those 3 channels in order to enumerate channel user presence, the intention was not to ban them but to kick them, and chankick or chanpart isn't a thing.
Currently the global blacklist prevention of the creation of new channels is yet to be deployed, because the compiled white list is only partially complete .
I am still waiting for channel owning lainons to get back to me on whether they want their channel white listed or not. I will probably wait between 12 and 48 hours for replies and at a certain point just enable the global blacklist. From that point forward new channels will need to be approved in a manner similar to requesting an account for the Stream, e.g. private message a member of staff and answer a short survey that takes between 5 and 30 minutes, normally it is closer to 8 minutes though.
Regarding taking any further actions e.g banning people, I am still waiting for validation of the who to ban and why, and I am not sure that retroactive banning is a good idea, because if retroactive bans are issued on the IRC server, then they should be consistent regardless of cause, and that impacts a lot more lainons than the 5 or 6 this thread has named and shamed with limited evidence.
whiteline · 2017-06-17 15:56
>>3987
There is absolutely nothing at all that says that you need to engage in petty legalistic consistency re. retroactive banning. That's a construct that you've created inside that little autistic noggin of yours in order to manage a cruel and chaotic world.
But I understand that you need actionable information so, if banning occurs then the following people should be derezzed for the following reasons (note that this is normal-person-reasons and not autism-people-reasons which you can follow back into some sort of legalistic axioms - if we where chimpanzees then the following are the monkeys who would get stones thrown at them, basically):
Tsutsukakushi - for creeping on little girls IRL.
Iwakura - for amongst other things admitting that he would want to engage in child sex tourism.
Joka - for wanting to do what Tsutsukakushi does and just lacking the confidence to do so consistently.
Kek - for admitting to molesting a child he babysat.
Do not ban: crash_override - because he lives a non-contact lifestyle and has, at least as far as I know, sworn off child pornography. He has defended the other people in the banning crowd but this is not surprising nor does it constitute any sort of inherent offense.
I have unregistered #books. You should contact the person who uses that channel and ask them to become the new registrar. No, I will not do it myself.
Nameless · 2017-06-17 16:23
>>3986
>of those only between ~13.7% and ~15.8% (see second image) were psychologically maltreated
Sorry, I was sleepy and misinterpreted the table a bit. It's in fact much lower.
| Q_{sexually_abused} | = 44611 + 9166 + 1256 + 403 + 1079 = 56515
P("sexually abused and psychologically maltreated") = 403 / 56515 = 0.0071308502 = ~0.71%
So if we want to know the percentage of all sexual victims who were additionally physically abused, neglected or psychologically maltreated, i.e. fuarrrked by bad people, then we have (9166 + 1256 + 403 + 1079) / 56515 = 0.21063434 = ~21%
Of course as always, it could be a bit higher or lower in reality.

Have you forgotten all about your childhood? I haven't.
Child sexuality is one of the most controversial and tabooed subjects in the average human society. Even today, in modern, well-educated and scientific times, it is still a taboo.
The fact is that all healthy children are sexually active, which is perfectly normal. They are sexually active all the way from birth and their very first gasp of breath, and it stays with all of us until we die of old age. When I say sexually active, I mean that they are all capable of feeling and enjoying sex just as any adult person is. They can feel sexual arousal and stimuli. They can enjoy sex and begin breathing faster and deeper while being sexually stimulated. They can reach climaxes during sexual stimuli, as in strong and powerful orgasms, which afterwards make them feel relived and happy. And all this can happen with all healthy children of either gender and all ages.
They feel a natural urge to explore it, and they enjoy doing that because it feels nice. They need to learn about sex, learn how their genitals work, learn how to stimulate themselves, learn how to handle orgasms, and so forth. And eventually, they will feel an urge to explore others, so they will also learn how to interact sexually with other humans; and especially learn about opposite gender genitals, how they work, and how to stimulate them.
It has been suggested by underground researchers that sexual relationships between children and adults are natural and evolutionary advantageous. The adult gets sexually stimulated and satisfied, the child learns important things about sex, and they both create very special bonds that make them even closer; which in the end motivates the adult to further love and protect the child, thus becoming yet another evolutionary advantage for the child's actual survival.
However, this is a very hard and strong meal to swallow and digest for most anti-pedophiles and law enforcement agents, who usually claim that this is not true. So will most religious people claim as well. But claiming that this isn't true, is just like claiming that the earth is flat. They will need to start reading books and start educating themselves within child sexuality to become enlightened. The earth is actually round, and this round earth inhabits horny and healthy children.

>That's a construct that you've created inside that little autistic noggin of yours in order to manage a cruel and chaotic world.
>note that this is normal-person-reasons and not autism-people-reasons
How you expect to talk to someone in so patronising a tone and get anywhere I don't know. I don't think he's the only one who's socially incompetent. I get it, you don't see these things and all of it is just going over your head. You should just do what I tell you and stop talking because this is obviously something that you're fundamentally incapable of grasping.
You see now? It's not a nice thing to be told something like that and it certainly doesn't actually convince you that it's the case. More than that it isn't the case. He's not oblivious and, more importantly, your assessment of who should be derezzed is not universal. Yes, everybody knows that there's a problem and stuff needs to be done about it but you personally have pushed so hard that he should just suspend critical thought and do what you say immediately because that's what any "normal" person would do and any hesitation on his part is evidence of autism. That's not reasonable, especially when he has a whole bunch of other people telling him different things regarding the details.
He's done the same thing here he always does. Gone slowly and carefully and done things thoroughly. Look at the new rules for IRC, there's all sorts of stuff in there about things like not telling people to run malicious commands and other unrelated, but good, rules. In general he seems to have focused on making sure it doesn't happen again (and it has happened before) rather than just banning people and forgetting about it. As with every other time something comes up all it takes is a little patience and it's fine.

I'm actually trying to have a meaningful conversation about child sexuality with you, but all I'm getting are ad hominems. Are you denying or ignoring the fact that child sexuality exists? In any case, once you grow up and you've got yourself a family with children, you will eventually notice it and be able to verify what I'm telling you.
>when in reality it only causes people to recoil in horror and disgust.
Well, it shouldn't surprise you that I don't care what other people think of me. I can think for myself.
Nevertheless, as if it wasn't enough that children are capable of becoming aroused and get multiple orgasms all the way from their birth, it almost becomes a little bit too much when I now add that children actually have sexual needs as well, just like us sexually mature have.
So yes, children have sexual needs. However, the basis for their needs is quite different from us sexually mature: If we start with us sexually mature, our needs are based on the hormone Testosterone. The testosterone levels within males increases along with our semen storage, making us more horny and sexually aggressive if our semen storage fills up. The testosterone levels within females increases according to their menstrual cycles, and when they're most fertile during this cycle. It can also increase within both males and females when being sexually triggered by e.g. touch and romance.
Young teen males and females who've just entered puberty are even more hornier than any adult will ever be, because their hormone balance is way off during this challenging period and transition into adulthood. Puberty is actually triggered by the level of Testosterone within humans, meaning that prepubescent children normally have much lower Testosterone levels than youths and adults. Since Testosterone is a part of puberty and adult sex drive, where does this leave the prepubescents and young kiddies? What makes these little sweeties horny?
Their primary sex drive is mostly based on sexual curiosity. The children brains are simply hardwired for strong sexual curiosity, and this curiosity motivates them to peek at and explore their own genitals, and the genitals of others. And then, a chain reaction happens: their sexual curiosity motivates them to touch themselves, which feels good and sexually arousing, which again motivates them to masturbate, which finally gives them great pleasures and orgasms. And, as soon as they learn how to achieve orgasms, they will attempt to achieve it a lot, especially little girls. Prepubescent girls seem to be more sexually active and aggressive than prepubescent boys, on average, but does of course vary some from child to child.
Their curiosity based sexual needs doesn't only make them turn to their own genitals for exploration and touching, but also the genitals of others. And since adult genitalia is an especially restricted area for these little sweeties, that area is the precise area they aim to explore, sooner or later. Thus, most children girls and boys have a high motivation to explore and touch adult genitalia, which will really stimulate their sexual needs, while also arousing them. It's not an uncommon phenomena that young girls get wet by touching and playing with adult male genitals for the first time.
A child's sexual curiosity goes like a bell curve through its childhood; it slowly increases to an insane level that peaks around 4-8 years of age, and from there decreases slowly and down to a normal level towards adulthood, when Testosterone based sexual needs take over for their earlier curiosity based sexual needs. This means that most elementary school first-graders have insane sexual needs, in the name of curiosity, thus being the easiest ones for pedophiles to seduce sexually.
>>4002
I am a genuine pedophile myself, and are exclusively attracted to young children; which led me onto a path in life of education and work within general psychology, to learn about myself and my unique orientation; which again and further led me to child psychology and sexology, to learn about how children function on an emotional and sexual level.
My education and work did finally solve that initially unsolvable puzzle that laid there in front of me, made all those tiny pieces finally fit together, which gave me a totally different perspective on myself, my role in this world, and pedophilia as a sexual orientation. It also changed my perspective on children, by learning many important and surprising things about them, some of which where quite chocking.
If you want me to elaborate on some parts of my post, please quote it precisely, because otherwise I don't know what you want from me. But be aware that my next answer may take some time, because I'm going out early with my little girl tomorrow and spend most of the day with her.

Like we care about this insignificant detail?
>From that point forward new channels will need to be approved in a manner similar to requesting an account for the Stream, e.g. private message a member of staff and answer a short survey that takes between 5 and 30 minutes, normally it is closer to 8 minutes though.
Like we don't have enough bureaucracy already? Which reminds me, where are all of the other admins and mods? They have been conspicuously silent during this whole affair. They probably don't want to touch this situation with a ten foot pole. And for good reason. Who wants to associate themselves with a board owner that needs to take a 3 day 'audit' to review a pedo room?
It seems like the staff that left for lainchan.jp got out at the right time. If they hadn't already left, they sure of hell would have done so now.
Which takes me to my final point. To all of those defending and rationalizing and justifying each and every action Appleman1234 ever takes no matter how insane or ridiculous...
...let's just say for the sake of argument that there never was lainchan.org. There was just lainchan1 and lainchan2. If lainchan1 were run by Appleman1234 and lainchan2 were run by all of the other staff here and on jp, who would honestly go to Appleman1234's site?
No one. So why should we have to put up with him destroying lainchan.org.
I don't understand how he is able to buy all of your support. You can simultaneously want the best for lainchan.org yet admit that soykaf is going downhill and fast. Just because you criticize Appleman1234 or the direction the site is going doesn't mean you're a boogeyman out to get him and promote XYZ website.
I'm so fuarrrking sick of the witchhunt. When will we be allowed to criticize the administration here without having every single criticism dismissed because another website on the internet exists?
Do you know how invalidating it feels to constantly be told you're "from" another site just because you want soykaf to improve here? You must not be a 'lain' unless you blindly accept and retroactively 'want' everything Appleman1234 ever does.
Stop justifying his behavior. It's only making soykaf worse.

Alright, in the spirit of good discussion that lainchan seeks to foster, I am going to respond to this post as seriously and dispassionately as I can.
>all children are sexually active from birth
>When I say sexually active, I mean that they are all capable of feeling and enjoying sex just as any adult person is.
This is simply a falsehood. Children cannot engage in regular penetrative sex. Newborn infants cannot penetrate a woman, and a female or male baby, toddler, or preteen being penetrated by an adult male is going to cause serious tearing and physical trauma.
>they can reach climaxes during sexual stimuli
I would be interested to see if you can provide any actual scientific source for this. If you believe babies can achieve climax through stimulation of the genitals, then, by all means, provide some actual proof.
>they feel a natural urge to explore it
This is correct, and it is safely and naturally explored between children of their own age. Playing doctor, I'll show you mine if you show me yours, things like that. This is perfectly natural, and is in a whole other world from engaging in full blown sex with an adult.
>It has been suggested by underground researchers
What you are referring to here, is child sex rings. Let us be very clear. There is no scientific research of any method being produced by these alleged researchers. If you have an "underground research" paper that, while practicing experiments considered unethical, follows a sound research methodology and produces reproducible results, then by all means, post it.
You talk a lot about this being a hard pill to swallow, and people going closeminded and persecutory. So come on anon, prove me wrong and respond to my post. I'll be waiting.

The fact that the "drama" hasn't let up since /q/ was removed from /mega/ would seem to suggest that much of the criticism was actually organic. If anything this bullsoykaf is validating their decision. We should really try to promote from within and find others that can kind of balance Appleman out as he seems totally unable to do it alone. It wasn't like this when Kalyx was admin. Sure he would fuarrrk up, but there were others to mostly hold him in check. Despite Appleman insisting that he runs everything by the community, at the end of the day he really is set in his ways and just reads the community opinion however he sees fit. Asking for feedback before doing what it is you planned to do is still unilateral action. He needs to distribute power or else this soykaf will never end. If there were other admins on the IRC, the channels would have been removed immediately. But instead everything has to go through the cognitive bottleneck that is Appleman's fuarrrked up mind.

I can tell you for certain that's not the case. Kalyx sold his investment, certainly.
The staff that stayed with Lainchan easily have more invested than them. Now, even though Junk carelessly violated staff rules concerning revealing staff dealings, personally affecting me, even, I won't go into detail on their investment or lack thereof in Lainchan. As I refuse to release logs, as they have, you'll simply need to take my word for it.

I was giving Appleman1234 my opinion in the staff communications over this. I believe he's handling it well. Now, again unlike those others, I'm not going to deanonymize users, as that's unacceptable behavior, but I do ask that you keep in mind that kalyx et al. have been shown to be posting on this board with their nonsense.
>...let's just say for the sake of argument that there never was lainchan.org. There was just lainchan1 and lainchan2. If lainchan1 were run by Appleman1234 and lainchan2 were run by all of the other staff here and on jp, who would honestly go to Appleman1234's site?
Your hypothetical is useless and your motives obvious. Arguing with it in detail would require revealing staff dealings and so I won't.
>No one. So why should we have to put up with him destroying lainchan.org.
Kalyx literally destroyed Lainchan after selling it and is now staff on the .jp site. Why anyone would follow that fool is beyond me. I never liked him, for various reasons. Appleman1234 is more responsible and reasonable than he ever was. I can tell you that Appleman1234 has made my moderating much more convenient than it previously was with some of his improvements to vichan.
>I'm so fuarrrking sick of the witchhunt. When will we be allowed to criticize the administration here without having every single criticism dismissed because another website on the internet exists?
Valid criticism is actually being mulled over. Insulting everyone here and whatnot is being ignored. Don't act as if much of what is being written is constructive criticism.

This was a normal response based on intuitively ferreting out the fact that, yes, this might be a somewhat libertine social space but the vast majority of people in it still detest pedophiles and most of the rest would if they where not naive about how pedophiles worked.
This is an instant conclusion and needs no process. If you where alienated from the userbase, the most you would have to drop a few social sinkers but you could have that done in a day. And Appleman isn't (or shouldn't be) alienated from the userbase in that way.

having a rule against tricking users into executing malicious code makes sense, and seems a fair thing to do.
part of the issue with applemans style is that, it seems, a few weeks ago, he would have hesitated to kick someone who was doing just that. a good op, seeing a user being tricked into executing dangerous commands, would step in, and consider kicking or otherwise removing the malicious user if it seemed prudent.
appleman, on the other hand, would listen to both sides, give them some lectures about community, meditate for several days, and eventually publish a rule that allows an op to do what any reasonable person should be compelled to do anyway, just by virtue of being a decent human being.
does his method have merit? yes, but this community is something that is happening at every moment. in some situations, a calculated, careful approach is needed, but sometimes new questions arise and need to be responded to far faster than is appleman's custom.

* - 9. If you are considering publishing channel logs, think it through.
* - The Lainchan IRC network is an interactive, real-time environment where discussions may be heavily influenced by external context.
* - Even on public channels, most users do not weigh their comments with the idea that they will be enshrined in perpetuity to stand on their own.
* - For that reason, few participants publish logs and we encourage those communities that do to make their participants aware of this fact.

of course not. pedophiles and their sympathizers are most welcome here.

Liberals, marxists, anarchists, and communists pose a greater threat to freedom and individuality than a couple of pedos.

Yea I disagree, just ban all of the following instead tbh
1) Americans 2) Females 3) Drug users 4) Non-virgins 5) Non-Free software apologists

As a twenty year old single male I think it's very hard to find a girl who's actually interested in free software. I've had girls jokingly ask to "Netflix and chill" but when I tell her that I don't use Netflix since Netflix requires proprietary software to stream content, they stop talking to me. And worse if they do stay they think I'm weird since I blocked google IP's in my host file and we can't even watch youtube. I can't ever seem to get girls to come over to my place and I can't text them either. Once I get their numbers since I've added customs roms to my phone and refuse to use sms since it's a security concern I require all of my friends to download a free and open source messaging app and I share with them my public gpg key so that we can verify that our conversations are secure. None of my friends are willing to do this. And I can't use sites like tinder since it's not only proprietary software but a major privacy vulnerability. How come it is so hard to find a girl concerned about software freedom. I feel like I'm going to be a virgin forever.

Yes. But I found a great rebuttal to it here >>4173
>Yes, Appleman owns the site and in theory can do whatever he damn well pleases. However, doing so would alienate a good majority of its userbase and turn a lot of newcomers off to using the site. Appleman's counterproductive tendencies need to be kept in check by the community, because he doesn't know any better otherwise. If he doesn't listen to us he'll just end up slowly driving everyone away, which has obviously already begun to happen.

If you don't like him that much just hide /q/. Nobody is asking you to get involved helping him run the place. If you want to that's great but it's not a requirement.

Obviously not. Appleman only went as far as deleting the channels because the community pushed him so hard. He doesn't actually give a soykaf about pedophiles otherwise.

>So what are we really doing here? Babysitting some incapable autist because he "doesn't know any better"?
Honestly, yes. The only reason Appleman owns the site is because he was able to produce $5,000 to buy it. That five grand doesn't mean he's qualified, but he's the owner now so we have to deal with him.
>>4205
>If you don't like him that much just hide /q/. Nobody is asking you to get involved helping him run the place.
Except his autistry extends far beyond the scope of /q/. It affects things on the whole site.

>>4208
>we have to deal with him.
Insofar as you have to be on the same site as him, yeah. This isn't a stage show. You don't have to be friends with him or even interact with him the vast majority of the time.
>Except his autistry extends far beyond the scope of /q/. It affects things on the whole site.
Such as? The worst he's done is warned some posts. There's long term considerations when it comes to things like encouraging people to help run the place but those are solvable problems and they aren't immediately pressing. Like everything else, it'll probably be a case of going slow and steady and doing things thoroughly.

It is not the responsibility of lainchan staff to be the Internet police and aside from
>Be smart when posting about potentially illegal activities.
Featured in the pro tips on the Rules Page and unless otherwise required by law or hosting terms of service, we don't offer recommendation on or report unverified text that people type over the Internet to any authorities, because of several reasons
1. People typing text into a computer is not verified information. It could be true, It could be false, it be a soykafpost or a joke, it could be one person slandering another or some other sort of misinformation campaign.
2. The world is not your country, different countries have different legal systems, law enforcement systems and reporting structures, and even if we can accurately determine the poster's IP address (inb4 tor, behind 17 proxies, neighbor's WiFi, public libraries, etc), then that IP address doesn't necessarily tie to a specific individual at a specific location or jurisdiction.
3. See the joke warrant canary at the bottom of the page, which was left in place for historic cultural reasons. E.g. Normally we wait for requests before providing information.
As for the actual canary (warrant or actual real bird) is elsewhere
E.g. If actual information requests were made, then the real canary would not be renewed, and if the body guards couldn't protect its physical avatar from the agents of KAOS , then there would be announcements as part of the standard lainchan.org emergency response procedure
E.g. there would be funeral or pet funeral notice for the name of physical avatar 石田香凜, in both the New York Times, The Times, and the Yori-Shimbun etc , in additional to twitter messages, message on Freenode #lainchan, and other such internet messages
and yes my revealing this, implies that these messages may involve additional obfuscation / DDT/ stenography , etc .
>>4193
This is not true and is a misinterpretation on your part. This misinterpretation also seems to be common on lainchan.jp for some reason, the response to which I will provide in a later thread.
From the Rules
https://lainchan.org/rules.html
>Do not spam or advertise unrelated content.
>Do not post child pornography or questionable 2D/3DCG/3DPG sexual depictions of children. This includes "child models".
>If you must post it, spoiler any NSFW content and make sure it's relevant to the discussion.
From the IRC network rules see >>4053.

S1ohy doesn't speak for me or on my behalf.
Yes I pay for the at least one of the servers that provides lainons with services / platform and the domain, keep the website up, but my stewardship of this site and community isn't regardless of what the community wants.
I consider the Lainchan community to be community driven, e.g. We are all being the change we want to see on the communication platforms and the world around us, we are all posting on Lainchan the sorts of conversations and discussions we want to have , etc.
>>4202
I have no intention of alienating a good majority of its userbase and turn a lot of newcomers off to using the site, and I do know better despite the claims of >>4173.
However I don't know everything, so any advice , help or support is welcome, that is one of the reasons /q/ exists , see >>>/q/2911 for more information on ways to help.
>>4206
This is also not true, and seems to be associated with the viewpoint expressed in the posts made by whiteline and the fact that the official response was not in a time frame that suited the people complaining in this thread.

But then why did you, as we discussed yesterday, do something so "obviously wrong" as try to use warnings for rule violations to improve discourse quality, assuming that people would interpret it as a "soft signal to improve" rather than a thwack on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper?
If you knew better then you would not do such things in the first place.

What in the actual fuarrrk is wrong with you, Appleman?
John Doe · 2017-06-25 02:00
Holy hell you're on the wired lains! This drekk blows my mind.
"Oh how I wish the internet was more like the wild west" except I don't wanna see anything bad
"I believe in free speech" as long as it's something I agree with
"Muh eternal september"
You must take the good with the bad. If you can't, you deserve to be a slave to the State. You deserve to have your content controlled and censored.
Good job blowing this small issue way out of proportion. This is a side effect of free speech. Jim and Hotwheels knew all about it. Every single person that has run a website believing in free speech has had this problem.
I can guarantee, banning/censoring pedophiles won't get rid of them (out of sight, out of mind). This is equivalent to thinking that banning all drugs will stop people from taking them.
whiteline · 2017-06-25 09:53
>>4222
>You must...
And you need to learn to take the world as it is, authoritarian assholes and all. If you don't, you "deserve" to be ineffectual.
True freedom means constant struggle and strife. It does not mean "here are my principles that guarantee perfect Freedom(tm) forever, now apply them so we can have that pls."
Furthermore, no-one has infringed upon anyone's freedom of speech. No thugs have been sent out in the night to silence anyone. Free speech is by nature a construct of governance of a nation or a similar construct. The smallest/weakest construct you could apply it to would probably be something like a mafia organization. It is a bond and a claim that such an organization will not use it's violence monopoly in a certain way.
It can never ever apply to private communities. That's essentially a "wouldn't it be nice if we all got along?" argument that is furthermore meaningless since said communities _at most_ only claim a monopoly of control over the shared resources of voluntarily participating members.
Turner · 2017-06-25 17:57

So there is absolutely no content that should be removed from lainchan whatsoever?
sage · 2017-06-25 18:42
>>4222
Freedom of speech is to not be oppressed by the government for your views, since this is a private site it doesnt apply here. And there was never any unrestricted speech to begin with since this site has the totalitarian methods called rules
Linda Lee · 2017-06-26 07:48
>>4222
So by your logic we should also allow brewing soykaf and spam right?
nobody thinks banning/censoring pedophiles will get rid of them, it's about whether this site stands for it or if its the place to discuss such things. Much in the same way random soykafposts and personal attacks aren't something this site stands for or wants here.
Lainchan isn't "no rules" there is plenty of sites for you to go to if you want that. It's also not a hivemind, in general it stands for keeping governments and corporations out of our personal information, which has nothing to do with letting pedophiles discuss their love of children.
You really think lainchan stands against any social site owner that decides to moderate what topics can be discussed on their forum/board/whatever? Because you seem to think people here have something against an individual or community disallowing certain topics be discussed.
