Realizing he had access to the server's control panel, Kalyx decided to be a dick and erase the server entirely, thinking appleman could just restore it from back ups. Appleman in a remarkable feat of stupidity kept lainchan's back ups on the same server it was hosted on, so those got nuked at the same time as the rest of the site.

In a word, !!FUN!! My body is very long, but that spoils the joke a tad.

I always thought Lain would get hacked from the outside, its kind of tempting it when you have /sec/. This is something else altogether.

I honestly don't see how it's anyone's fault except Appleman's. If kalyx did it on purpose (which he even claims he didn't) it's a dick move but not even more than usual. But not having backups (backups on the same server are not backups) is unacceptable for anyone who had the audacity to buy a site like this and think he could run it.
