I am currently working on software to automate the recovery of specific posts and threads so they can be restored. (mysqldump only restores full tables, or full databases, and the schema of the current lainchan database doesn't match the schema of the backup)
If there are particular requests lainons would like restored or restoration to be prioritized for, please post them in this thread.

Hey, Appleman, how do you think about the archive?
I sent the archive to you on Wednesday, how it is going? If you couldn't open it, I'll help you, because I was derezzed in lainchan.jp (see pic) and they don't offer a link to access the archive so far.
As you know, I don't work for admins, but I'll work for users. We have the right to access the archive for a certain period, because it was lost suddenly and accidentally. You should back it up.
Users, if you want to know the details, see https://meguca.org/g/1841607?last=100#p2018782 and https://lainchan.jp/b/res/49.html
In short, I have an archive before 1 April, and you can view it by using CatChan. It contains all posts in public boards probably.
Appleman1234 · 2017-04-30 04:38
>>2328
Thank you for providing the archive that you did from CatChan, I am currently in the process of using it in combination with earlier 7th September 2016 backup in order to recover threads requested in this thread, either to the >>>/archive/ or to elsewhere.
As for why I haven't just used Catchan to restore the backup provided immediately, this is because am not sure from looking at 15,000 lines of JavaScript that is Catchan that it can restore threads to boards that the threads were not made in, also the backup provided is only thumbnails and post content, and overlaps with the existing older database backup.
Currently I am working on software, which will be available on Github, and will be ported from the Python it is written to PHP to be used directly from lainchan / vichan to better recover posts from backups in both mysql dump and filesystem format, and in the format used by CatChan, which only has thumbnail images, and not the original files and will support thread merging from multiple backup sources.
HELIOS · 2017-04-30 05:33
>>2329
You should do it finally, but also you should give an alternative temporal solution for users, because some users may just want to read posts. For example,
>>1453
You can restore both threads with CatChan, Pic. related.
>>1508
Which one? See pic.
So, you are doing the best final solution. You are going right way, go ahead. But for an alternative temporal solution, you should place the archive file somewhere, then I'll help who want to view it using CatChan. And posts.json in the archive are your thread.json itself. If you have JSON dump/restoration instead of binary dump/restoration, your DB may be able to read the archive without modification.
For users:
My archive file probably contains all posts, 50% of thumbnails and no original images. If you want to read posts, it make sense. I'll help you if you want to view it.

Or Appleman, if you know it and you can answer immediately, teach me what. You don't have to investigate this because you have so much burden already, therefore ignore this post simply if you don't know.

cult/1190 was already restored in >>>/r/103 from the original database backup, (I believe 108 posts were recovered, though there may have been more) and the original OP was not spoilered or deleted. As for why Catchan has filename as false it may be because the filename (file_path, thumb_path, were both to /w/ and not to /cult/, but this is just a guess. For 1190, the catchan json file has 171 elements, and I will restore the remaining 63 posts to the thread in /r/ as part of testing the software I am writing works with the format Catchan uses.
Faye Valentine · 2017-04-30 07:59
>>2334
> cult/1190 was already restored in >>>/r/103 from the original database backup
Oh, you are doing great job. Go ahead. 171 posts are right. Your restoration was probably done by "post and modify timestamps" manner, so it becomes an "appended" one, but it works. You can correct it later.
> the original OP was not spoilered or deleted
OK, thanks, it may be a bug of CatChan.
> the format Catchan uses.
I'll repeatedly say, this is YOUR format. CatChan make an archive as follows if the target is this thread,
var response = RESPONSE_OF_AJAX('https://lainchan.org/q/res/268.json');
save_file(JSON.stringify(response));
Therefore, you can restore the file by following command with JavaScript,
JSON.parse(lain_q_268.json);
It's a standard JSON format and you can restore it easily. The content is the response of server itself without any modification as much as possible, because I use the same function to show them. I just switch source of data from server to local archive file to make archiver function. Because this is the easiest way. And by this, you can make archives for CatChan by typing Ctrl-S manually if you want.
Therefore, that is YOUR format. And I don't modify the property of "filename" to false as far as I remember. While it's a bulk of patches, so it may be a bug, or I just forgot something. Anyway, thank you for information.
BTW, dollchan use their format to make archives, so their archives are independent from site. But CatChan uses server response itself to make archives, so archive is dependent on site heavily, but you can make it without CatChan. If you have a collection of Ctrl-S saved htmls, CatChan can read and show them in catalog.
Aristóteles Amadópulus · 2017-04-30 08:24
>>2334
So, you don't have to read CatChan code when you restore the archive, because it is the same as your server, though I'll help you if you want to read.
For details,
YourDB -> (PHP of vichan) -> server_response(A) : this is JSON.
server_response(A) -> (chrome will parse by JSON.parse() or similar function) -> server_response for JavaScript in browser(B) : this is object of JavaScript.
server_response for JavaScript in browser(B) -> (CatChan will stringify by JSON.stringify()) -> archived_posts(C) : this is JSON.
JSON.stringify(JSON.parse( server_response(A) ) === archived_posts(C) basically. Therefore CatChan can read HTML or JSON file which was made by Ctrl-S manually. And mapping of property is the same as you do in your vichan in PHP, so you don't have to do reverse-engineering CatChan.
Appleman1234 · 2017-04-30 08:48
>>2336
Thank you for telling me information I already know, despite knowing this information I am very grateful for your offers of assistance. Apologies regarding my labeling of the vichan json export as Catchan export format, I meant no disrespect by it, it is just that Catchan uses the vichan json form for archives, as opposed to the vichan database format which is different again.
I am just in the process of writing the json dump to sql dump conversion code at the moment.
>>the original OP was not spoilered or deleted
>OK, thanks, it may be a bug of CatChan.
As I said earlier I am not sure if it is a bug of Catchan unless you count support for Lainchan's legacy board aliases, historical structure and posts that were moved from a database perspective but their files/ images were not moved as a Catchan feature.
As a side note, just asking, if possible, if you want to make a Catchan specific discussion thread can you do so in another post in >>>/q/ or >>>/r/ as this thread is general archived resources, regardless of the source of the data or the archive mechanism.
The restoration method being used leaves the original time stamp intact, it just updates the id, and thread fields.
Roy Batty · 2017-04-30 09:11
>>2337
> Apologies regarding my labeling of the vichan json export as Catchan export format
No, I didn't want to criticize, I just think that you already have your importer probably, and you don't have to hassle to make it. How have you been modifying your DB so far? I assume there are some interface with JSON. And you can use it. Though I don't know about DB anything.
So, I felt that you were walking away accidentally. If you don't have it, you must make it.
> As I said earlier I am not sure if it is a bug of Catchan
It seems to be a bug of CatChan so far, I'll investigate more. Anyway, you are trying direct conversion without CatChan, so this is just an issue of mine.
> if you want to make a Catchan specific discussion thread
No. I just want to show the correct way to restore, as I stated above.
> The restoration method being used leaves the original time stamp intact, it just updates the id, and thread fields.
OK, probably this works well.
Ender · 2017-04-30 11:34
>>2337
I haven't caught the bug so far, but it is a bug of CatChan probably. When it hit the case, "filename" were lost from archive. The property means "original filename", so it's not critical luckily. Therefore,
1. You must determine whether the post has image or not by using "ext" or something other than "filename" property.
2. It's better to check that all thumbnails are annotated after restoration.
If you find any other inconsistency, tell me it here or meguca. I haven't verified so severe, there may be.

Archive belongs to the community without any doubt. I just happened to have it. It shall be returned and restored.
However, I don't understand why they and the Appleman required such a long time to restore. The format is the same as here, so it could be restored in a day or such if they are really eligible. I know members of jp are retarded, but the Appleman have been fixed technical problems one by one, so he can do it probably. This was why I explained about the format repeatedly here. As someone stated in another thread, I seem Appleman are trying to manage to do too much jobs by only himself.
Nanashi No Gombe · 2017-05-05 11:45
>>2626
Nah, it's not as simple as that. I can't speak for .jp but Appleman is combining it with the old backups we have to fill in any gaps (mostly missing images I believe).
>The format is the same as here
That's not how that works. Correct me if I'm wrong but you provided JSON archives. While you can display the boards as JSON, the database behind it is SQL and so it does need translating. It's more than just a simple formatting thing either. In order for >>2625 to work there need to be extra database entries (iirc anyway it's been a long while since I looked at lainchan's code).
Pulse · 2017-05-05 14:08
>>2633
No. It's simple and all they tried to solve the problem difficultly because of their poor skill.
Apart from the problem of Appleman, a very big problem of your community is that you don't have any expert here even you are talking about programming. The Appleman is far better than average of your community members, so I'd support him technically. But you had better get eyes to distinguish who can be reliable. For example, >>2618 stated that JSON was not an archive. He is crazy apparently. And probably you thought >>2625 was the same guy as >>2618, and cited his comment here. This is also crazy because you cited an crazy comment as if it was the right. This is why you don't have any experts here. And this is the thing I mentioned in meguca that I wanted to avoid.
As for the Appleman, I haven't seen these technical gaps so far, so I trust him in regard of technical aspects. I guess he is trying things with too much perfectionism. But that is also his choice.
tl;dr; Shut up your mouth if you don't have skills.
Lady 3Jane.. · 2017-05-05 15:36
>>2636
>cited his comment here
No, no you mistake me. I wasn't trying to cite any post specifically (honestly I thought I'd cited yours but I typo'd and went one post number too low). I meant that in order for citations in general to work there need to be entries in the database. So you can't just run a regex to parse the JSON into SQL.

Ok the initial Lainchan Archive Request Preview Page has been generated at https://lainchan.org/archive_preview.html .
It still needs to have the OPs that are only in the catchan archive added to it, however.
This page is used as a reference to request for the restoration of a thread either into /archive/ for static viewing or into a new board for active posting / resurrection.
Currently lainchan doesn't have non game-able poll functionality, but if there are enough requests for a specific thread along with a specification of read only archive or bring back, then it will be considered and eventually brought back.
Existing requests that I am aware of include
* the additional 63 posts from the girls with glass thread that was on /cult/ and now is in /r/.
* /zzz/ entire board ???
Source code for the recovery software isn''t on Github yet because it is still being tested and I want to wait until a I have confirmed a minimal viable proof of concept before publishing it. It is written in Python, but could be ported to PHP or a lainchan PHP extension that calls the Python program could be written to make it more self service, but this hasn't been done yet.
Random · 2017-05-05 23:59

Man, why are you so incoherent? People don't want such a page. People just want to read and post as they were. People don't want to search threads in your request page definitely. Your search page is beautiful, but that's all.
If I were, I would do like this:
1. Put the archive somewhere with usage.
2. Restore them as read-only static threads.
3. Restore them as read-only threads.
4. Restore them as live threads.
5. Don't upload the glue code in Python.
Why? It's easy to understand.
1. Users can view all archives in 10 minutes. Just download the archive and install CatChan.
2. Users can view all archives without any effort, but the threads don't have any popups, they may be hard to read.
3. Users can view all archives cozily, but they can't continue their conversation.
4. Users can use them as they were. This is a final solution.
You are working not for users, but for yourself. The Python code is not required to upload because it will never be used as you won't have any archives later. And people don't want to get any evidence of your struggle. People are just waiting your result.
1. can be done in 10 minutes if you have server account.
2. can be done by placing all HTMLs in server. CatChan doesn't have this function directly, because I dropped this since it was redundant. So you have to do it manually, like open and Ctrl-S manner. This will be too bored, but it can be done in a day. (If I were, I would modify the code of CatChan and generate this in 6 hours.) This doesn't require any DB acknowledgement. You can put HTMLs in server statically.
3. Then you'll notice your js can be applied to 2 with small modification of HTMLs. You'll write a code for this and this can be done in 12 hours.
4. You aimed to this from the beginning. This was not so bad since you didn't know details about the archive. You chose your best way; direct conversion. But this means that you estimated you could provide functions of 1,2,3 in equal or subtle extra time IF YOU SORTED SOLUTIONS BY USER'S BENEFIT. What you are lacking is this.
Anyway, now users can view 3. in jp, so you don't have to be bothered from 1,2,3.
Appleman1234 · 2017-05-06 00:15

People haven't said what they want, and if they had said as what you suggested, they would just use the archive made by mkwia at archive.lainchan.jp and not be asking for stuff here.
Hi dogman8, thanks for your opinion. I don't trust CatChan and its 15000 lines of JavaScript, At least 4 hours was spent attempting to audit it and finding bugs in it, before concluding it was not viable for what the archive approach that is happening here.
This means 1. is not viable. The Python code will be turned into PHP code and upstreamed to allow other users of lainchan and vichan to restore posts from mysqldump and json files.

I didn't say you had to trust my code, nor you had to put the CatChan here. I just said you could have provided another choice for users. And users who trust my code could view the archive instantly by installing CatChan from GitHub. Whether trust or not should be user's choice. It's definitely not your choice.

OK, now is your turn. Show your skill by your code. However, I haven't seen anyone here showed their GitHub here. Appleman showed it when he bought here, but it was vacant.
However, I don't know why you want to argue this thing. What are you aiming for? It's impossible to audit 15,000 lines of code in 4 hours for anybody, so he wasted 4 hours. This posts clearly shows why your community is so bad at programming. I don't want to identify real you, but a good discussion needs good participants, so I do need participants to identify that they have enough skill to argue with the agenda. I'm the author obviously, so if you have any doubt about my skill, you must have higher skill than me. This is why I requested your GitHub. And if you didn't have any account which could show here, you shouldn't have said it. You could imagine this flow of conversation easily. You have been evading from these matters always, as the λx.x did. You don't have good faith. And programming needs good faith. This is why you are so bad at programming.
And relax. As you know, I had left this site, and I didn't come here if these things hadn't happened. I don't like the Appleman, and I don't trust any admins here, so I don't make a thread here, and I'll leave after this crazy party.

you: "i'm a good programmer here is my github"

>And if you didn't have any account which could show here, you shouldn't have said it.

This is me, this is my first post, at this point in time i didn't know who you were, at this point to me you were just someone pretentious trying to make use of his highschool programming knowledge.
All replies with sage are also me. Don't assume i'm someone else and don't derail a conversation. I'm not criticizing you personally hotshot, i don't know who the fuarrrk you are and i've never read a single line of code you've written. This is an anonymous imageboard, the key concept here is anonymity, not identity. You talk using arguments that are independent on your personality, when you depend on personality you create a Kalyx and a Ilikebiscuits.
My point, as i mentioned time and time again, is that your assumption of "you need to read 15k lines before making a decision!" isn't based off of reality. That is all. Nobody needs to read an entire codebase before adopting a new piece of software or ditching it, code is not read like that, it was never read like that in the history of computer science.
This affirmation says nothing about your skill or lack of it as a programmer, so calm your ass down and stop bitching. Maybe you didn't even mean that you need to actually read 15k lines, maybe you were just pissed because someone didn't like your code, i don't fuarrrking know and i don't give a fuarrrk, my only claim is that the concept of having to read the whole codebase before adoption is total bullsoykaf.
So either counter that argument specifically or shut the fuarrrk up about who the fuarrrk you are, i don't give a fuarrrk, what the fuarrrk.

Yeah, he haven't done such a thing. But it was unclear when the archive would be restored before members of jp had accomplished. They said they would do it in 3 days, but they were so closed minded and they hadn't reported any progress in public, and there were no links after 3 days. This was the Appleman also. Therefore I came here and asked it for him in >>2328. And you people didn't know about the archive before it was restored in jp as you see >>2341, this is also crazy for me. People have the right to know what's going on.
As a result, you got the archive in jp, so task for now is restoring them as live threads, and the Appleman is doing this. This is right. But if member of jp couldn't have restored the archive as the Appleman, what would you do? Appleman should have reported its progress, and restored it for a temporal archive as I stated in >>2652. Then he should have tried to final solution; live threads. As it takes too long time, his choice is a mistake apparently.

Regarding your question, the specific rules are
Do not whine and cry about 8chan, lainchan.jp, "quality", "invasions", "new users", mods, bans, or kalyx outside of /q/.
Do not spam or advertise unrelated content.
E.g. You can link to archive.lainchan.jp if the content you are linking to is relevant both in and outside of /q/ without getting derezzed.
But complaining about lainchan.jp outside of /q/ will get you derezzed, and just posting a link to archive.lainchan.jp as the sole content of a post has the possibility of getting the post deleted or the user derezzed for Rule 4 violation, You should always elaborate on your opinions rather than just spilling the soykaf. because just posting a link without any other post content is usually advertising or soykaf.

Appleman, you are really bad at administration. Why do people need the link to the archive? BECAUSE YOU HAVEN'T RESTORED YET. So you should just say, "links to the archive in lainchan.jp shall be treated as links to posts to lainchan.org before the archive is restored here."

Links to posts on lainchan.org would be treated in the same way (i.e. if it's the only thing in your post that's against rule 4). In this context, there's no reason to treat the archive special because we don't treat the site special.

Man, you are not good at making a good discussion in chans, as other people here are. As you know, I'm not a staff here, while your question needs them clearly. So you should add the link to >>2724 to outstand your question explicitly.
Generally staffs can't read all posts, nor follow all conversation. Because it is impossible simply. Therefore questions for staff must be outstood, be explicit, or contain direct links to their posts. While the Appleman is quite active, he have tried to read and follow all conversation as I see. This is a good face of him. But this makes him busy. Now he has too much duty, so you should try to reduce his work.
And Appleman could evade your question if he would have made crosslink as you stated. Because offering the function in native js shows an approval of them implicitly. Both of you are not good at chans, as I said.

I'm the CatChan guy, who made the archive. I'll explain technical aspects of the archive.
> seems like the missing images across both archives are thumbnail previews for webm's or spoilered images?
Yes mainly, but no exactly. All thumbnails of webm or spoilered shall be lost, but some thumbnails of others may be lost also randomly. And also, posts may be lost sometimes. As for /diy/3429, all information in the archive is restored in jp.
The Appleman is trying to restore threads from his backup. This contains all information of September 7th 2016. >>1177
>>1180 All threads or posts later are based on my CatChan's archive probably. /diy/3429 is so.
CatChan's archive is based on JSON which is provided from the server, for example of this thread, https://lainchan.org/q/res/268.json . While vichan code base is too poor as I stated in >>2658, it has too much inconsistencies in it. For example, this JSON doesn't contain any information about thumbnails of webm or spoilered, so they shall be lost. (BTW, I reported it in jp, they mistook it as I reported bugs of my script and was hijacking their thread, and I got derezzed. They are really crazy. You can see this in >>2767 and >>2328)
The archive I transferred to them and the Appleman was a dump of archive in IndexedDB which has an odd specification; automatic deletion. If its capacity is NEAR the limit, files which are not used recently will be deleted to get free space automatically, and users can't stop this deletion. This is a specification of IndexedDB in browsers, not a spec of my CatChan. Therefore information in IndexedDB may be deleted randomly, since my archive hit the limit every day. (BTW, this is why I provided two way archiver; files and IndexedDB. Archive in usual file system is NOT deleted automatically. However, unfortunately I stopped the file archiver long time ago, because I had finished its debug.) While CatChan's archiver checks missing files in IndexedDB at every "reload" and try to re-archive it if there are free space. Therefore probability of lost of posts' information is much lower than those of thumbnails, because it's small. (However, I "reloaded" once in a week or such.)
Archive of IndexedDB can hold all information if its usage is far lower than its limit, so I tried to keep enough free space, but I tired to do this, and I gave up and finished debugging it on 6 Apr. And I restarted it 11 or 12 Apr. So the archive DOESN'T contain any information which was made and lost in this period. For example, some posts which were made on 8 Apr. in threads which were pruned 10 Apr. shall be lost. But this case is rare here, because here is a slow chan. All posts which were live on 12 Apr. were archived if they had posted in this period. Therefore the archive contains all live posts on 1 Apr. and later probably.
However, auto deletion may occur for any information including posts, and several threads were so certainly. For example, I saw some threads whose OP or all posts were deleted. (There are threads of thumbnails only in the archive.) These threads are NOT restored in jp. I found these in debugging. >>2354 And patched. >>2350 You can see them by yourself if you got the archive file. I said that the file should be placed in public for users here, but jp hides it, and the Appleman has ignored this request. >>2330 If you have an appropriate server and you are willing to place it in public for users, I'll send it to you also. ("public" means public space for all users here exclusively, not for all internet users. For example, I can place it in my gmail account, but I think it's not appropriate, because it will be scanned by google who haven't used here. The best solution is placing it in /f/. Hey! Appleman!)
tl;dr; It depends on your luck. Because it's a dump of archive in IndexedDB.

Thanks, I know that my English is bad, but not too bad to interpret for natives as I said in https://archive.lainchan.jp/q/res/11628.html#12221 . If you are interested in the drama about CatChan's archive, it started from https://archive.lainchan.jp/q/res/11628.html#12145
The archive contains deleted posts also. They didn't restore it probably, though I didn't check it. You can see almost of all deleted posts if you see it directly. Probability of loss of deleted posts in the archive is the same as loss of posts.

What ever came from this? Has this database been uploaded anywhere? There are a few threads I couldn't find in the .jp archive probably because they purged before the time that backup was taken.

https://lainchan.org/archive_preview.html should now have the opening posts from the April 1st backup, though I am still making sure all the thumbnails got copied correctly.
There is a total of 2734 opening posts , with 91 opening post images not availiable , and possibly additional opening post images avaliable but not yet copied to the archive preview image location yet.
I am still working on a solution in order to have polling functionality in lainchan that is gamification resistant despite identity or lack of identity used, but until then any request for the return of a thread in this thread will be considered and priortized based on demand, assuming the opening ID, original board, and type of restore (static restore to /archive/, dynamic restore to another board , restore to generated PDF, etc) and the desired retention are specifed.

Why are you so insane? Why did you do propaganda it so much as you mentioned in >>2618 ? You are really crazy. You are fools who believe any propaganda from CNN.
As chemical weapon factories make antidote first, though you don't know this simple manner because you are retard and believer of CNN, archivers contain restorers basically, because they are requited at debugging. How could we debug archivers without restorers? You are really bad at programming, you must shut up your mouth for any technical matters.
And you crazy, all what I pointed out in >>2328 were your bugs apparently, though you have been doing propaganda them as my bugs. All experts shall abandon you because of your craziness, while people here are all beginners who can't understand these and your propaganda seems successful here.

This is a CNN style clearly.

No. But I can do it technically.
The basic aim of the script is reducing polling cost of microchans. We have to visit microchans to check new replies, but this wastes our time if there are no new replies. Therefore I made the script which can catch new replies from over microchans without my cost. I can catch new replies without any efforts. I'll post my screenshot.
- Favicon shows there are replies to me.
- Desktop notification poped up
- New replies are marked in page view, and the thread is sorted to the top.
So, I can grep new replies easily.

The Phantom Phreak · 2017-05-15 03:49
>>3100
No. Appleman haven't made any fake news. Who are doing propaganda are admins of jp.
Anyway, I'll resign this conversation because you are the same retard as >>2657 , and you are derailing intentionally. This is a thread for archive. And the archive was taken by me, and CatChan is the archiver and restorer, so the script links this thread directly. Mkwia have been trying to conceal this everywhere, I don't know why. But this is a style of CNN; they don't provide any information they don't want to spread, they provides information only they want to spread. This contradicts chans' mind clearly; all information must be open. While you stated repeatedly you are not chans, yeah, this is your choice.
And all of you have the right to view archives because archive is yours as I stated in >>2626 . So I tried to help Appleman to restore it, but he haven't wanted to be helped so far. Therefore I'll leave here. I have no reason to stay here if you wouldn't try to make a reply to me. Calm down, please.

I believe darkengine has that september backup file but the one posted in >>3091 seems to be some kind of mixed archive that was rebuilt. The boards seem to be repopulated either from new threads or reposts so I don't know how much restoring you'll be doing anyways.

Joe Bloggs · 2017-05-17 15:18
>>3121
OK. You are still ignoring me completely, that is also your choice. So I'll say this for others.
As I stated in >>2818, or I stated it at the beginning in meguca, I have archives of all recent threads which were pruned before 1 Apr. For example, I have 198 and 228 threads which were pruned Mar. and Feb. respectively. While they are too many, and .org had worked fine before the wipe as far as I saw, I chose 1 Apr. for the date of archive, and I made a zip file which you can see in >>3090 . These archives were taken during debugging of my script, they might contain any type of failures, but I think this is far better than no information. I can give these technically. But I don't upload these anywhere without your request, because admins here don't want any archives made, and these threads were pruned as designed, therefore I don't have to do with. However I despise all admins here, I don't worry about bans since I'll leave here soon again, and I'm for support public archives personally, I'll upload these files if you request it. You can view these archives with CatChan, or I can make a screenshot if you couldn't install user scripts by halal. Or you can view these archives if you build a local proxy, because CatChan's archives are server responses themselves. Pruned threads are individual tar file, so you must say board name and thread No.of your request. These are included in url.
If you are considering vulnerability of my script, resolution is simple.
1. I'm not a web developer, so there are vulnerabilities maybe.
2. But vichan's code is soykafter than my script apparently, don't worry as long as you use here.
3. And you can avoid these using userprofile of browser. JS is sandboxed in each userprofile, so you must make a userprofile for browse only for imageboards, then you'll be happy and safe.
4. Or you don't trust any userscript, build a local proxy and redirect 404 to the json files. This will work probably.
However, you might get bans if you request it here, so you can request this in meguca also.
https://meguca.org/g/1841607?last=100
Turner · 2017-05-19 13:52
Org is far better than js clearly. I forgot to say this.
Though I don't like Appleman and moderators here, they are far better than those of jp clearly. This is why I came here and I haven't provided any additional information in jp since the ban. Admins of jp are evils obviously, though admins here are retards.
Indeed, I have a lot of conflicts about opinions around all matters, but these are differences of opinions. And you have the rights,
1. You have the right to know what we discussed.
2. You have the right to deny what I proposed.
3. You have the right to hate me if it based on my behavior or what I said.
Therefore deletion is evil. Hiding is the better. No moderation is the best personally. And meguca support hiding.
https://meguca.org/g/1954994#p2042591
Sudden pruning is also bad. 4chan adopts "delayed pruning". Meguca adopts this also after I suggested it IIRC. Pruning of meguca based on time manner; if a thread have no posts in 30 days, they will be pruned. I had suggested this also here IIRC, and they had denied, so I provided "delayed pruning" in my script.
Although we don't share opinions, mods here haven't deleted any my posts. So your rights are protected. As I said, of course, you have the right to hate me by your responsibility. But admins of jp deleted all my posts and force you to believe their thought, so your rights were violated. This is why I think .org is far better than .jp.
I don't have to say this, but I said bad about here repeatedly in this thread, so I thought my behavior was not fair. Org is far better than jp since you can see all discussion.
Anyway, I support transparency and public archive, but this is your choice. You can make a personal archive by CatChan. This is equivalent to Cntr-S basically, but it is automated; once you see the post, the post will be stored in archive.
You can contact me in meguca.
https://meguca.org/g/1841607?last=100

Archive preview is a way of providing threads that can be restored from the archive available, so Lainons could request threads to be restored to the archive board, because individual thread restoral is still only a semi-automatic process that takes at least 30 minutes per thread.

Therapy is useless and only delays your suicide in vast majority of countries. And where it doesn't, if just makes you a pill slave for the rest of your life, literally leaving you a walking zombie. Suicide isn't as bad as you think.
The Oracle · 2024-05-24 08:49
therapy is, at best, neutral on average, and it ruins some peoples lives. just go out and do things. If you can't keep up the will to do things, come up with some trick that will force you out of your rutine in any case. Move across the country or something, force yourself into a situation where you'll either starve out on the street, or figure something out, and there's a good chance you'll figure something out.
If you're considering suicide, you ought to be willing to do some radical crazy living soykaf, too. Whats the worst that could happen, you die ? lol!

Therapy can be extraordinarily useful as long as you understand that it isn't a magic quick fix. A therapist's job isn't to make you feel better. Their job is to help you understanding the underlying causes behind given emotions. It's the reason that CBT is spectacularly effective at treating depression. Obviously this is only in conjunction with the patient doing the leg work to undergo life changes to improve their baseline.
Its not too terribly different than physical therapy. You shouldn't expect a physical therapist to "fix" you. They help you diagnose the underlying issues that cause you your knee pain and what you can do improve those issues and eventually remove your knee pain.

When I've seen people go to Physical Therapy (Ph.T.), its usually about a specific injury/surgery/problem. They go, and they either improve it or remain about the same. It a little hard to tell whether the Ph.T. helps; if you just got a hip replaced then you'll probably be healing up / getting used to it anyway, but in either case when I've seen it it certainly doesn't seem to hurt, and sometimes it really seems to help.
Psycho Therapy (Ps.T.) does not proceed along these lines. I have seen people who could barely walk go to Ph.T. and get better, I have seen people who outwardly appeared fine and were observably perfectly functional/independent go to Ps.T. and ruin their lives to the point of loosing their jobs and having major social issues, or deciding they need radical surgical interventions to damage their observably healthy and functional bodies. These people are doing the legwork and cooperating with their Ps.T.s, its just that the results are not improvements. I have met people who claim Ps.T. helped them, but I have never seen Ps.T. help a person in the way I've seen it ruin them, and I've seen it ruin multiple people.
And I understand, maybe some things take time to get over, maybe a bit of regression is acceptable as a step towards improvement, but when it gets to the point of wasting years of a persons (otherwise a bit depressive but functional) youth, or encouraging radical surgeries on healthy individuals, it is clearly not a good option.

Found another way of archiving threads - https://lainchan.org/q/res/13691.html#q13832 (https://lainchan.org/q/src/1768825079763-0.txt)
Since I read on the site's FAQ page you can attach text documents, I tested this out on the fly by archiving text documents of completed threads from Lainchan, zzzchan.xyz, and more. I had scraped these via some of the OP links and converted them into text documents for easier reading. There aren't any images within any of them, including the sample linked in this post, and within my opinion for a good reason.
