DOT JAY PEE FRONT PAGE DESCRIPTION AND STATEMENT RELEASED -- ANTI-DRAMA GLITTERBOYS BTFO

Jane Doe · 2017-04-21 18:19
In a public statement released on the front page of DOT JAY PEE PEE, Seph and her runaway mods have released the following front page description of their opposition website, attacking Appleman as a stumbling idiot: >why we call ourselves lainchan Lainchan is larger than any one website. It is the inventive community of people that brought us Lainchan, Lainstream, Laintracker, Lainwiki, and Lainzine. Taking risks and creating things is part of the ethos of Lain. This endeavor is made of the same spirit. When Kalyx sold the website to Appleman, he did not sell the community. He sold a domain name. The domain did not come with the guarantee that its staff and members would continue using the service indefinitely and unconditionally. Administrators, moderators, and developers grew weary as we watched the new manager repeatedly stumble while simultaneously denying both assistance and responsibility. We collectively decided that we would not stand idly by and let our community wither. Creating this website is our best means of ensuring her continued growth and longevity. If you agree with us, welcome to your new home. “Close this world, open the NeXT.” tl;dr Appleman is like kicking dead whales down the beach, come to our new "home", DOT ORG is "withering". IN OTHER NEWS: Jove forced to pick a side Junk betrays the dot org base and is attempting to run away with their content for Lainzine 4, the latest installment of DOT ORG's most successful project. Seph's puppets continue to infiltrate DOT ORG discussions to prevent new filters for the .jp link, defend Kalyx, and put down all advocations for retailiation. Appleman continues to accept "advice" on rebuilding the website from the ones who destroyed it. Kalyx continues to "help" Appleman and say he has nothing to do with JAY PEE Where were you when .org came to the verge of dying?
Acid Burn · 2017-04-21 18:53
Thats just sad, this is a great place. I just hope they don't steal the lainzine and stop the aggression, I would visit if they weren't motivated by hate.
Bobby Newmark · 2017-04-21 19:12
Lainchan.org on the verge of dying is quite the exaggeration. Despite this anti-appleman propaganda drive, he's put in a lot of effort trying to please literally everyone, and perhaps that's where his fault lies. /q/ is a cancerous bikeshedding soykafhole due to its low barrier to entry; posts like this prove my point. Lainchan.jp obviously should be filtered and aggressively ignored, Appleman should do what Appleman thinks because you all have too many opinions, and we should all continue making threads and replying outside of /q/. When too much chaos pops up, order must follow.
Agent Jones · 2017-04-21 19:17
What did appleman do, exactly? "I don't like you" =/= "You do not do a good job". This drama leads to a lot of loud talkers, but very little facts are being said. Lainchan is as good as it ever was, the feelings of a group of mods does not change the day to day posts in here. Unless there is active proof of something appleman did to hurt lainchan and the community, i don't see that as anything more than a tantrum, aka "the admin is not doing what i want him to do".
SHODAN · 2017-04-21 19:23
There's lots of talk about the split but, judging by their /λ/, the only thing of value that was lost is potentially the lainzine.
Tank · 2017-04-21 19:30
>>1741 The .jp group got buttmad that their boards couldn't be restored immediately *gasp*. They have no other arguments now other than an autistic hissy fit about how selling a website is participating in the great evil of capitalism(TM). Because of course, Appleman is milking massive profit margins off of lainchan amirite?
Agent Richard Gill · 2017-04-21 19:33
>>1743 >how selling a website is participating in the great evil of capitalism But trade as a practice has nothing to do with capitalism. Not only that but i cannot understand why appleman goes through all of this trouble and invests all of this time into Lainchan. I would have given up long ago. .jp staff seems like a bunch of children, the best way to deal with them is by ignoring their actions i think.
Arisu Mizuki · 2017-04-21 19:50
I seriously don't get the kalyx fanboyism, he was a way greater threat to destroying the community through his soykafty decisions when he owned this place than anything else.
Trinity · 2017-04-21 19:54
>>1744 Trade and barter are inherently capitalist since they create market economies. I'll probably always use both .org and .jp
Sipho Nkosi · 2017-04-21 19:57
>>1741 Well, he did not back up the server. But I don't think people should get so angry about a mistake, even if it's a big one like that. The place is back up, and claiming that years' worth of content was lost is seriously stupid considering it's an imageboard. >>1746 So you are suggesting a society without any trade whatsoever? Also, capitalism is a new thing, it started during the middle ages, and before that, trade had always existed.
Agent Richard Gill · 2017-04-21 20:03
>>1747 I suggest a society with a gift economy. An economy that's not a market economy. >capitalism is a new thing Nope.
Bob Arctor · 2017-04-21 20:15
>>1748 Capitalism as we know it began half a dozen centuries ago. Words have meaning and "currency" does not imply "capitalist society". The act of trading is not inherently capitalist. Capitalism refers to the practice of making other people work for you for a fraction of what you receive, they have the skill and you softly enslave them with your influence. Not only that but he (your employer) will tell you that working hard is representative of your value as a human being. Capitalism is a whole, complex culture. Boiling it down to the act of trade is naive at best. We can have a gift-based economy and still have capitalism. We can have an economy based on intentions and even necessity, and still have capitalism.

>>1745 how much do they pay you for sh1lling? or do you do that for free?
Random · 2017-04-21 21:25
>>1749 >>1748 >>1747 >>1746 >I claim .jp is an outside force trying to gain moderation/administration over lain.org or gain lainchans audience >I claim it's because of political reasons >"n-no, it h-h-has nothing t-to do with p-politics" >.jp wage slave thread devolves in discussion about politics and capitalism you anarchist bastards trying to subvert lainchan are fuarrrking up your own game go, shoo run away nobody is buying your .jp soykaf
Donna Hawthorne · 2017-04-21 21:31
All this talk of how dot org is dying and how how Appleman is fuarrrking up etc and how dot jp is the community's new home. All these boards they restored so fast, but what's in them? They're damn near empty and the two biggest threads are a distro thread and a desktop thread. Distroposting and desktopposting, really makes you think about the number and caliber of anons that migrated to dot jp.
Acid Burn · 2017-04-21 21:37
>>1757 it's the anarchists thinking they are smart because they roleplay some kind of cyber hacker group and repost everything they see on 4chan/g/ just ignore them, they will go away soon enough
John Doe · 2017-04-21 21:40
>>1758 good riddance then
barrucadu · 2017-04-21 21:50
There are four threads about .jp on the first page of /q/. There is no need for so many. Please use one of the others.
