Any similar bands with deep, otherworldly sounds and narrative-esque lyrics in the same genre?
I find this band pretty great when you take a dip into the lyrics and find out they contain some pretty obscure references (John Dee's Mirror and Sandy Pearlman's vampire gf)

Warrior on the Edge of Time by Hawkwind gives off a slightly similar vibe. If you've got the patience to listen to a 10 minute track, Assault and Battery/Golden Void is a trip and a half.

>Rishloo - Obscure references and esoteric lyrics set to longer songs (5-10 minutes) with numerous shifts in tempo and sound to convey changes to the story
>Tool/perfect circle/Puscifer
>Pink Floyd
>It's a Beautiful Day
Maybe
>Led Zeppelin (lots of interesting references, especially to LotR)
>Dio (A fun classic metal band)
>Alt+J (obscure sounds and some interesting lyrics)
>Iron Maiden (empire of the clouds being one of the longest rock songs ever made, it's an 18 minute story about an obscure aircraft accident)
There is also a genre called psychedelic rock that may be of interest, as for BOC, Pink floyd is probably more similar in style and sound

As of late I've actually gotten into listening into one of their later albums that I hadn't listened to because people said it was soykaf (not really, it's just that with old bands the fans tend to be old glitterboys averse to any changes in musical styles) - Like 'Heaven Forbid', I also like most songs on their Imaginos album.
I seem to enjoy their metal-ish mix with what I think is called hard rock like in tracks like 'See you in Black' and 'Revenge of Vera Gemini'. Their weird lorebuilding with imaginos is also pretty cool.
Yeah I know this is a lot different to what I said in the OP but w/e.

Off of the top of my head,
Early Rush (especially 2112, A Farewell to Kings and Hemispheres where they reference the Apollonian/Dionysian split in the mind) and Dream Theater (Images and Words all the way up to Metropolis pt 2: Scenes from a Memory fit the bill here from what I've listened to. Haven't listened to their discography past that so there may be more). Also Om, which is a psychedelic metal band with themes centering around the more esoteric parts of Abrahamic religions and Vedic traditions.

my god seeing my boys OM here makes me happy
I like god is good a little bit more (Even though all of their discography is amazing) something about this 19 minute masterpiece makes me get lost in another world.
