HYPERTRANCE

A renaissance of Y2K art and music.

>>9231 Please more of this. That was great.

As if trance ever went away.

I'm really digging the 00s nostalgia stuff with the jungle/dnb music as well. Not just the music, but the whole aesthetic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXSuBxVDSGU

>>9230 I'm surprised you're starting a thread called "Hypertrance" and not pointing out the guy who's been coining the term. https://volantmusic.bandcamp.com/album/hypertrance-soundset-rs500 He's even got the big boy samplepack going on. Also see the depressingly short lived Virtual Self project. https://virtualself.co/

>>9230 This person definitely reminds me a lot of the Y2K music from back in the early 00's and somewhat mid-00's. https://youtu.be/ipUXR8sULmg Shiftdelete - TranceblasterEarly 00's Trance https://youtu.be/5oFqQn9o0gg Shiftdelete Soundrise Mid-00's Trance.

>>9446 Oddly enough i have been searching through for more NeoY2k music and i was wondering why Volant was everywhere especially on this playlist, or if this was a popular artist. Thank you for telling me the backstory. I hope this genre can grow more in the future even if it's small. It may have something of a compliment to Vaporwave of sorts.

does y2k metalcore count? https://youtu.be/WvV86yIJ7Mk

>>9442 Yeah Trance has always existed. But I think what he means is the sounds of Y2K trance. From that era.

Check out Virtual Self. The creator (Porter Robinson) cites early 2000s internet culture and Lain as a big inspiration for the project. He even plays a Duvet remix and has Lain pop up on screen when he performs. Does this count? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHMzCpy0fXc

>>9718 Yeah I think so. It's just aesthetics and trance style from that time.
