ex-yu music

There was a similar thread here not too long ago but it seems that it's rip so I'm starting a new one. ITT we post and discuss music from the parts of ex-Yugoslavia, some of our Eurobros are probably familiar with it. Post your favorite songs, artists, bands, thoughts on the past/present music landscape in our parts, etc. I've attached some songs which I believe are pretty neat, the latter two are pretty good for drowning your sorrows.

Never thought this thread would be picked up again. > thoughts on the past/present music landscape in our parts I'm not from down there, I'm a second generation immigrant in northern Europe, so I have no idea what the current scene is like. 98% of the music I know is via my parents, so it's basically all 70's/80's (see attached files). Is there anything worth listening to now? I've tried searching, but I just end up with folk music.

>>6200 >Is there anything worth listening to now? I've tried searching, but I just end up with folk music. Dunno, there's always music coming out from our parts, you'll always find new turbo-folk if that's your thing... The first file I've attached in the OP is relatively new, it's from an album titled "Tunguzija" by Svemirko, it has Haustor vibes to it. https://jasamsvemirko.bandcamp.com/album/tunguzija Maybe you should check their label više manje zauvijek https://www.youtube.com/c/vi%C5%A1emanjezauvijek/videos There's also a lot of rap but that's not really my thing. If you want something a bit older and relatively obscure/forgotten check this channel out https://www.youtube.com/user/Dronemf11 You can rip one of their playlists via youtube-dl https://www.youtube.com/user/Dronemf11/playlists?view=1&sort=dd&shelf_id=0 there's crap ton of things I've never heard about here.

>>6206 fuarrrk I totally forgot about Mortal Kombat and Brkovi. Mortal Kombat leans more towards heavier sounds with punkish/funny lyrics. Brkovi also have punkish/funny lyrics in their songs but they lean more towards punk-rock + folk(??). I can't really say much about Hladno Pivo because I only know a couple of their songs, the one I've attached is probably my favorite from the group.

Not European but I stumbled some pretty cool ex-yu tracks on YouTube. Karstof - Prah: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrcHQ99UjQo Demolition Group - You Better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hH0tweZgLdc Trivalia - To Nisam Više Ja: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1_egqqNYyA The YouTube channel I found them on Dronemf S. has a pretty good collection of tracks from all over Eastern Europe from the 70s, 80s, and 90s; I highly recommend checking them out!

I grew up listening to a lot of more mainstream yu-rock like Riblja Corba and Crvena Jabuka, but have recently started listening to some more obscure stuff I missed as a kid, so here's some of my favorites. https://youtu.be/AJJqbtovT2k Boomerang - Na Zapadu Nista Novo https://youtu.be/MA96qD4P-Lw Jakarta - San Je Jak https://youtu.be/ZyL2Di_H_nY Kineski Zid - Priđi Malo Bliže https://youtu.be/QgnNmboS7PU Trivalia - Poreklo https://youtu.be/s4ddgI4aH2k Videosex - Detektivska prica https://youtu.be/5srEVMgCVU0 Max & Intro - Ostavi Sve https://youtu.be/easpOi2Pix8 Pauk - Mumije lazu https://youtu.be/-rmzuGWivD8 September - Florida I was frankly shocked to see that there is a decently sized English-speaking audience interested in ex-yu music, as this stuff has been largely forgotten by everyone except the yugonostalgists and "le wrong generation" kiddies.

Depending on where you go in former yugoslavia, you'll still get to hear a lot of it.
