Maybe I am reading too many /hum/ vent threads but I got a feeling some lainons are into emo. Post good emo tracks/albums/sets here. Bonus points if it's modern emo (from the last 10 years). I'll post some tracks I have been enjoying recently to start off. All of them come from pretty decent albums, especially the Nouns album. Nouns - Dogs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1ty-xK3cC8 Michael Cera Palin - Portrait of a Woman on a Couch With Cats: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPvoYEtiwig Weatherday - Come In: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5uYKbZ_aJBE Glocca Morra - Irrevocable, Motherfucker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bj0JR6RZlq4

>>6187 Happy to see another lainon who knows Weatherday! Have you heard of The Brave Little Abacus? It was apparently a big influence on Come In https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=727mQuiMp_E

Im not sure if Carissa's Wierd is emo (it was the 2000s, everyone was a little emo then) but i love their mix between emotional arrangements with lofi. Some of their songs have some really melancholic lyrics, like wtf happened in their lives to make them? This track is almost comically grim tho, love sound though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=61MFUPSkjUQ I guess they have one of the more depressive rock tracks ever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7zHZrcHdxg

>>6189 I do know and enjoy Brave Little Abacus! I did not know they influenced Weatherday but I can definitely see the influence now! Do you know any higher energy emo like Weatherday and BLA? Whenever I try to surf algo recommendations for them, I just get mu soykaf. >>6190 They certainly have an emo tinge to them. Pretty chill, somber tracks >>6192 Hard for me to judge given I don't speak Japanese but they do kind of evoke the emo style sometimes. They are pretty chill tho! If you want Japanese emo, try Summerman: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP5NCjxnBgw

I'm not too much into emo, but I love this album. It's from a spanish band called Corea, in this album they mix screamo, post rock and something that I've never heard in an emo album, harsh noise. https://youtu.be/uPRCS52jpCg

I'm going to assume OP meant emo as in screamo and not boring soykaf like TOP or BMTH I'm a big fan of skramz to be honest, and I love the fact that there are still many awesome bands, especially in the russian scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVjU8mcmhsA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzzu0by10t0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooL9T0zQsV8 (this one is actually from belarus iirc)

OP back with more emo. > You've Got the Map Backwards, Matt - Marietta https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DRdps64sjk > Safari - 125, Rue Montmartre https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S24h9W6LqNQ > Scottie Spliffin - Dikembe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBYPYdrHiQc > Katsuragi - Good Carl https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMMvnfkHWmk > Transistor - Don Martin Three https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDpOqAiiXbs >>6219 As much as I would like too, I have never been able to go into screamo or scramz; I have no idea why. This is pretty interesting though with the harsh noise; I would think it wouldn't fit well in the album but it fits well and is pretty enjoyable. Noise is why I liked Nouns in the first post; they kind of verge on noise pop which is something you don't see much in emo.

>>6328 I'm 90% sure I saw Daddy's Hands play a basement show in Vancouver ~1998? Something like that anyway.

I've got a whole bunch of emo and skramz to share, gonna post some skramz for now and might come back later with the emo recs: >Father Figure - 死の手 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2pC2o7uew7GCd7dSL7DrRFODcwKzoYjL >BLIND GIRLS - Residue https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kIF7-n2GblMgIvTkTGbWiwHFBa8n-2eM8 >unable to fully embrace this happiness - The Morning Sun & The End Of The World https://youtu.be/7CI0fXgse64 >Lord Snow - Winterhold https://youtu.be/FR_tfwg3Txo >iwrotehaikusaboutcannibalisminyouryearbook - s/t https://youtu.be/Y7CyZGlI4yE If you're to listen to any of the links I posted, I'd definitely recommend the last one (pic related). My all-time favorite album, absolutely soul crushing but so beautifully made at the same time. The link is to their full discography, the first 12 songs and the bonus track (end of the video) are what I'm really talking about but the other stuff from their demo tape is worth a listen if you like their popular stuff. >>6189 TBLA is the soykaf, probably one of my favorite emo acts of all time for sure. If you haven't heard Masked Dancers yet, it's also really good, not quite as good as Just Got Back but still has some amazing moments. >>6220 based skramz poster

I've been in love with these guys recently, they are more on The Killers side of emo, but they make good stuff Some of my favorites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWyePx5bS3I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ct_3d347cto https://youtu.be/1R4JcZbDvy8
