Let's discuss the revolutionary sounds of the counter culture music of the 80s. Pic related is an absolute essential of the genre.

This is my favourite album by The Cure. Minimal, melancholic, glacial, cold and distant. Those are the adjectives that better describe it. Songs like In your house, play for today or The Forest really hit me hard. Their later works don't come anywhere close near this in my opinion.

I'm relatively new to post punk and related genres so I'm gonna post two albums that I like and I hope you can recommend me something general.
>Caifanes - Caifanes (1989)
This one is very straight forward sounding post punk, tho they do mix it up a little. The guitars, drums and some sax parts give this album a great vibe to listen at anytime or anyplace. It's full of bangers since the first track and it also has a lot of that 80's post punk sound so, if you don't mind listening to music that sounds like the time it came out of, give it a chance.

>.Stendal - Vectores (2020)
This is a more recent album (January of this year more specifically) but it's still a jam. It has a slight tilt towards dreampop and synthpop but it's still a great abum. The melancholic vocals, reverbed out guitars and punchy dreams keep you very entertained for a long time. Very recommended.

The first one sounds really good, too bad the vocals are in spanish. The second one is good as well, the guitar riff of the song you posted reminds me a lot of this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmFFTkjs-O0. Even the dreamy guitar tone with no bass, chorus and reverb.
Pic related is also another very interesting post punk record. It's the tuxedomoon debut, very experimental, hermetic and almost hypnotic at times. Really weird sounding stuff that mixes a lot instruments, also the song structures are very unconvential. It's much more closer to avant-garde than post-punk.

I have always really enjoyed This Heat; they have made some really unique post-punk. Their first album was pretty much straight experimental but is very good and is worth a listen. The second album, Deceit, combines post-punk with the frantic, off-kilter and discordant delivery of the first. The result is a very interesting, unsettling album and I haven't found many like it. Definitely worth checking out. Here's the track, Paper Hats, from that album:

Suburban Lawns was a short-lived but pretty fun New Wave group. They have a bizarre, kind of quirky sound that I have not really seen anywhere else:

I love post-punk. Two of my favorites have to be Big Black and Swell Maps. Big Black just go so hard and are not afraid at all to push the envelope sonically or lyrically and address topics that so many others are unwilling to touch. Swell Maps just sound fvcking great and were just so influential on post-punk and music in general.
