Metal Thread

I see alot of threads for electronic based music or guitar but seemingly related to softer music. I love metal, and I'm sure someone out there does too. I just discovered the (death-thrash) band Disciples of Power (https://youtu.be/1hbNEXtRdMM). What's your favorite metal tunes or currently listening to?

I like Death Metal. Some of my favorites: Blood Incantation - Hidden Histories of the Human Race (https://youtu.be/Ozor-bT-sOs) Tomb Mold - Planetary Clairvoyance (https://youtu.be/zx7RPlrt5jI) Witch Vomit - Buried Deep In A Bottomless Grave (https://youtu.be/wHOqyxh947A)

Here's some drone metal and doom metal I have been listening to recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RNMAUbdB68 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gavvZ9U2ic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfM9P4yrn4U

Gonna post a few classics. Everyone knows Black Sabbath but here is a good one anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mDvik6PvMw And from the seminal death-metal band; Death: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjB101k2Bog and a staple of drone-doom, Earth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOUbZJbkHNw

>>6052 Can't say I have heard of Earth. Will definitely listen to it.

I'm a self-proclaimed huge metal head, mostly into black/death but I fuarrrk with everything really except for core stuff (although I like some grindcore). Here's a few albums I found recently that I'm really into: Whoredom Rife - Dommedagskvad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZJD4RUjUyo Cosmic Putrefaction - The Horizons Towards Which Splendour Withers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHnlW16kyds Hræ - Þar sem skepnur reika https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DSgT6Zda6g Also one of my fav BM albums of all time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvENeQoloew

My frog Fadades deliver pretty nice metal tunes with engaging lyrics and profound metaphysical subjects. >>6058 The thumbnail of the dude holding Dave Mustaines head really caught my attention cause I am a huge Megadeth fan.

>>6056 What do you think of Bathory switching from black metal to viking metal? https://youtu.be/RIXzvix5Hkk

>>6038 i'm not a metal guy i would say, but i came across Burzum a while ago and liked it quite a bit, especially the ambient pieces. anyone else?

>>6061 Haven't listened to Burzum. Not really a black metal person.

>>6060 Well I like Blood Fire Death and Hammerheart a bunch, but after a while it got a little too...um...cheesy for my tastes. I like their BM era more but I respect Quorthon's creative decisions

>>6065 Quorthon. What a name. But yeah, some of Bathory's newer stuff sounds like stock viking metal. Amon Amarth is pretty damn good though.

Spinning this recently https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUnpuXmsSwo

>>6038 When I played I was into this really technical prog metal that nobody liked https://youtube.com/watch?v=q-BL1Wnxl7c https://youtube.com/watch?v=9-fOpoLtj7U https://youtube.com/watch?v=3djFn44xu-U https://youtube.com/watch?v=x0GhbFqIQCo obligatory video of the drummer I still enjoy some of it very rarely

>>6061 Not metal but if you're into ambient Dungeon Synth is where it's at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKSu-wZChcQ&t=579s As for BM reqs I always recommend Drudkh https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B60yvu8GHH0 Gotten into Dragged Into Sunlight lately too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LtJV60xVbA&t=1498s
