My Little Pony Music

After 2010 and to the present, there's been so much music dedicated to the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, having attracted a following that will likely persist similarly to that for Serial Experiments Lain. I won't tell you how much light has been brought into my life by these little ponies, but let's use this thread for sharing our favorite pony music, new releases, or perhaps just the obscure songs we want others to notice.

You'll want gapless playback when listening to either of these. The latter half of the album has good tracks, but lacks the cohesion of the former half, because the multi-track songs are all there. Despite this, I get the feeling there's a very loose story in the ordering, so I wouldn't change it. The only tracks I don't like are the first, last, and thirteenth. The first two are meta, with the last track being too somber for my liking, and the thirteenth just doesn't appeal to me. As some final thoughts, I listen to this album while driving and no one else knows it's a pony album. You can safely listen to tracks six through thirteen and track seventeen, because these don't mention hooves, ponies, or like things. Track fourteen may be safe to listen to, but I don't listen to it enough and track sixteen is good if you're feeling adventurous. So far, I think track five, Friendship Is Power, is my favorite, even though it seems to reference season eight and I've only heard bad things about the last two seasons, with the exception of the Kirin episode. I stopped watching in season five. It seems like a few tracks would be safe to listen to around unaware people, but part of the fun of pony music is it being undeniably pony. There's quite a bit of pony music without vocals and it seems mostly like they just wanted to attach the brand to sell music easier, but they may have been using inspiration that just flew over my head. >>5110 That was nice. I don't listen to much Pony music, despite me jacking off to some Pinkie pics on derpibooru twenty minutes ago and being part of the community in part since 2012, but I have some that I deem my favourites. SoGreatAndPowerful - The Standard Model One of the most well known albums to come from Pony, and the first one I truly gave a listen a few years ago. Great plunderphonics album that still holds a special place in my heart. The artist is a little finicky though, its easy to find his discography online, but not from him. He fuarrrked off for the first time around 2014, and recently came back a couple months ago, but left again without a trace. When I first found out about him, I got hooked and listened to him for a few days. It's mostly Ambient and Post-Industrial from what I remember. I'm more interested in the writing aspect of the fandom, and I'm not one of the best people to ask on what I think of the music that comes from it, but a lot of talent came and still comes to this fandom to this day. Shame that MLP became popular in the early 2010's, when dubstep and other mediocre electronic music was becoming popular. >>5106 I think the fandom is entering entropy with the last episodes coming out last year. Despite 4/mlp/ being full of generals, 8/pone/ dead, and twitter becoming a place for retarded political debate, this won't stop it from continuing to exist. Even the lack of episodes will not stop anything from being produced. Most people I talk to haven't watched the show in years, mainly because there was a huge drop off in quality past the third season.

They have vocals and detail Luna's thoughts and feelings while trapped on the moon, until she decides to explore the universe while banished. After that, the album changes dramatically in style. The music tends to either lack vocals, reuse earlier vocals, or have random vocals (A line of cursing I recognized from Southpark is in one as an example.), but there are still scattered songs that have complex and unique vocals. The songs tie in to the main theme, like a song that represents the cacophony of voices while she's so far in space there's not even any light, or one in which she's being chased to the ends of time. It's still admittedly weird, but this is pony music anyway. So the last three quarters of the album are hit or miss, you'll either like them, only some of them, or maybe even none of them. Even if that's the case, I still think the first few tracks are more than good enough to justify the album. It's got a unique character to it. I didn't notice until now, looking for lyrics, that each track's page has a bit of story not included in the download, not that it really matters. I've been listening to it for years without knowing about it. Track three is the only track that can't be listened to around others, since it mentions how she doesn't need anypony else. With the rest of the album, no normal person will recognize it, and I often listen to it with others in my car while I chauffeur others. It would be great if I weren't the only one reviewing albums in this thread. I want to know what your favorite track is, and what you like about it. My favorite track is the fourth, Accelerate, because it has a nice theme and I love the way it titularly, gradually ramps up in speed. It's a nice track to get on the interstate with.

I don't understand how adult men can watch this show. I still don't, and I never will. I don't understand how someone over the age of 7 could watch this show, and become entertained, let alone sexually aroused by it's content. I have tried watching things like Doraemon as an adult, and there is just a explainable visceral reaction within me of disgust when I am confronted with video like that. This show is completely antithetical to everything that Lainchan, or cyberpunk as a whole, stands for. It's a consumerist, corporate-pedophilic show for little girls to get them to buy toys... My brutal opinion is that most pony musicians are hacks who can't kick it anywhere else, but thanks to the bad taste of Bronies (I mean come on, they like a little kids show...) they achieve success that way. I'm saying this as someone who was such a Brony, I went to a convention in another state! Most of the music is just bad pop and bad electronic, in most trite prefabricated structures ever. On the other hand, the visual art community has some exceptional talent, and it's just sad they use their talents for this disgusting 'community'.
