Nice links, OP. I've recently been getting into it, so I'm grateful for varied recommendations like this. It's fascinating to me how the chill, jazzy chords and spastic drums don't contradict, but rather contrast and complement each other. >Cloud Nine - Jazzmin (Tango Remix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhcYe6AQvrE >dBridge & Calibre - Ponderosa https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StjbyKOA7TQ >Omni Trio - Thru The Vibe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TJUnOPMLgI >Zachary Waltman - Track 1 (feat. Mark "8en" Moss is the guy who brought jungle to Detroit in the early 90s. Though Detroit was never really an important jungle scene, he's used his collection and experience to make multi-part mixes for every year in the '90s. Check it out! From ragga to jump-up, it's all there. https://www.mixcloud.com/8en/8en-1995-part-1/

The atmospheric 'intelligent' jungle music was really something special. It now seems more relevant in 2020 than it was in the 90s. Jungle was far ahead of its time and very cyberpunk. Anyone know of any good Trance & Bass in the vein of John B? He just released a 2020 remaster of a bunch of his stuff. blessed thread, thank you guys. May return with some reccs of my own after I've gone through all these. But, while I'm posting, Bandcamp is where jungle gets posted the most (in case you guys were looking and didn't know). Lots of new stuff still goes straight to vinyl, so if you do a search there, you'll find new tracks every month to buy. I actually produce some my own (not very good), and my city has a nice cozy scene for it. Jungle is the futuresound so I'm over the moon to find it here.

this may be a bit off topic, but does anyone know any good books about jungle/dnb/ culture from the 90s? would love to read about it. sharing this happy hardcore tape for good measure: https://archive.org/details/rave_Paulina_Taylor_Smile/Paulina+Taylor+-+Smile+-+Side+A.mp3

I'll post it here because it's criminally underrated ever heard a jungle track that features one of the best saxophonist in the free jazz world? Now you did. And that buildup is mindblowing >Method of Defiance - Ta'Wil https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CZyI5toPfY

There is something about the samples in dnb/jungle that makes me feel a way i cant describe. its like the world slows down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSbWbecYpX4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePDjyAfOprQ there has never been a more futuristic sound in all the all the edm ive listened to trance, house, electro, dubstep all trash. this track does something to me, it sounds so futuristic and nostalgic all at the same time, but so spiritual and tribal sounding. it settles deep down in my soul and makes it self at home where it belongs or perhaps its allways been there.

Found myself listening to these tracks alot in the past few years, not all Jungle, there's Breakbeat Hardcore and Jungle Tekno too, which I prefer to be honest: > Zero-B - Lock Up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaZth6fz9jQ > White Lightning - So Many Tears https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0TN9XNj1f0 > Wax Doctor - New Direction (Jack Smooth '93 Remix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99amqXrCQqc > Vital Link - Yeah Jah https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNN3KTnYUR4 > The Undergraduates - Space https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87sMZk2oCnA > The Undergraduates - Into Da Future (Massive Mix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5YfW9iXjfc > The Invisible Man - The Flute https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2n_fWcupixs > The Invisible Man - Power https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXuMsV_nzos > Intense - The Quickening https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-t_Qv2v0CQ > Underworld - The Rising https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_azhe_yuow > Fast Floor - 7th Heaven https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrP8HUxqhCc > Engineers Without Fears - Spiritual Aura https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQ_tDZWMnHE > Electronic Experienced - No. 303 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXsT5BwiDAc > Engineers Without Fears - Rhythm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YA2sMglzwzw > Dance Conspiracy - Dub War (Chapter One) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXxkVTEOGA8

Does anyone have any dnb that incorporates the Indian tabla? Talvin singh is more of a ambient producer but he only ever did one track and it had no tabla. there is something so hypnotic the way he plays it reminds me alot of asymmetrical jungle drum patterns and apparently the Indian community doesn't like him too much since doesn't play in the traditional style. post more indian influenced dnb https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmotF46pg4Y https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYeioo508wA

Late 90's drum and bass has such a distinctive style.
