Anyone have recommendations for stuff like Nujabes or https://city-girl.bandcamp.com/album/neon-impasse and minimal to no lyrics
Chillhop general, I guess?

I've been getting into retro-Japanese grooves lately, not so much specifically chillhop as such, but I'll tell you what I turned up.
Casiopea

Pretty much gave birth to Outrun as a genre, having inspired Hiroshi Kawaguchi's soundtrack to the game Outrun, that inspired the music genre itself.
Ryo Fukui

Legendary self-taught jazz pianist.
Fishmans

Japanese dub with androgynous vocals from the late Shinji Sato.
Godiego

Micky Yoshino's grand old psychedelic rock band, mostly famous for providing the soundtrack to the Monkey TV series. Sang a lot of their lyrics in English, so the soundtrack was unchanged in the dub, which inspired a generation of acid/jazz/rock bands in Britain and Australia (Stone Monkeys, Pigsy Roared, Tripitaka, Monkey Majik, and Gorillaz).

If you even know who these maniacs are, you are officially too cool for school. They never even made any official releases, so there are only bootlegs, soundboards, and a couple of aborted attempts at a recording a studio album. The bass player hijacked a 747 with the Red Army, and the biseinen lead singer Takashi Mizutani hasn't been seen by anyone since 1997. Actually that was the last time any of the band members were seen in public save for a bass player and the guitarist, who is dead...
And there were fifteen members throughout the band's history, so that's pretty strange statistically at least.

80's funk/disco/pop, inspiration for the vaporwave and future-funk movements.
Junko Yagami

Another 80's Japanese QT-in-a-suit, another 80's jazz-disco-pop icon reinvented as vapourwave.

An electronic producer who has worked with Nujabes in the past (With Rainy Eyes in particular, which was featured on one of the Hydeout collections). Really chilled out guitar-based loops and smooth piano + synths.

Straying into the Jungle/IDM territory, but Tom Jenkinson put out a ton of chillhop-esque stuff in the 90s and early 2000s. British DnB-scene electronic music with heavy jazz influences.
Prefuse 73

Another artist from Warp Records. Lots of sample+loop-heavy electronic music. Has a very distinct grooving sound to most of his work, though it often strays into more experimental, upbeat territory a-la Flying Lotus and co.

You should listen to them if you're looking for music that would fit into the category of "chillhop" and "lofi", i.e hiphop-influenced electronic music. If you don't want to bother, then don't.

I've been listening to a live broadcast on Youtube by the user ChilledCow despite the fact that I am not a hip-hop fan.
Also, despite the fact that I am more of a rock; metal; classical piano; and Baltic folk pagan music fan, I enjoy these two lo-fi and chillwave songs.
