>>2203 I'm listening to it right now. I have only listened to Blue Train and A Love Supreme before. It doesn't feel like an album, more like raw material with some tracks that were not meant to be in an album. Sometimes they play parts of previous albums in a tune, probably experimenting. It's good considering the context but if it was released while he was alive, i don't think it would be well received. I also think releasing the raw product now is better than if they tried to finish it posthumously.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKOekWuzk3o If this isn't the smoothest soykaf you have ever had cum in your earpussy I will eat a dick. This was a huge influence on Hiroshi Kawaguchi when he composed the soundtrack for Outrun, so in a way this is the granddaddy of the entire Outrun/Synthwave genre.

some great suggestions in this thread already this is about as far from bebop as jazz gets but it deserves a share. a british duo called yussef kamaal put out this absolute gem of a record maybe two years ago and then split up shortly after https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYUR38Yo8aw
Marly Krushkhova · 2019-01-20 18:47
>>3134 >Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio Good pick. I love the KEXP recording sessions, they're always high quality. The drummer and guitarist are also part of "The True Loves". Worth checking out https://truelovesband.bandcamp.com/album/famous-last-words

>>3149 Yeah, KEXP is great. I especially enjoed Thee Oh Sees's and King Lizzard and The Lizzard Wizzard's performances (flying microtonal banana KEXP session is 10/10). As this is jazz thread I will post jazz gem: ADHD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHmSaLxA4T8 Check out this guitar tone! >>2154 IRAKERE [yey ye-ye yah] Chucho Valdez composed a tune for IRAKERE called misa negra (black mass, but black as in black people, not satanic). There's a 17 minute version of it on spotify and its a journey. IRAKERE's interpretation mozart's adagio with paquito d rivera on sax is also very fun to listen to.
John Rain · 2019-02-03 09:47

Bobby Newmark · 2019-03-27 19:29
>>2154 Charlie parker and dizzy Gillespie are big names in bebop. If you want more laid back I really like Undercurrent by Jim hall and bill Evan's Cannonball adderley is sick(he did an album with bill Evan's, though most of his work is stellar) John Coltrane plays bebop that'll make your head spin Miles davis is also one of the greats. The diaspora of jazz is massive, what specifically were you looking for? Do you know the different subgenres of jazz, how much exposure have you had? Just asking so I can recommend more effectively. Also, django Reinhardt- swing from paris >I love django, I'm a music student studying jazz.

>>2566 Do I have to buy this to get it in lossless? can't find it on rutracker or piratebay
Dox · 2019-04-04 14:32
>>3406 I couldn't find soykaf also I asked 4/t/ and their response was that there's lossless on "Soulseek" and another gave a link to an FTP site w/ a bunch of Casiopea albums, but Casiopea (1979) only had an MP3 version. I looked up Soulseek [1] because I'd never heard of it. Apparently it's a p2p file sharing protocol+application, it's not open source (Freeware) so I'm iffy about it. 1: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soulseek

I rewatched Blade Runner and I downloaded the soundtrack because there were some nice tracks I thought sounded jazzy. The track, Love Theme ("Tema Lubirri" in the "Gongo Music" release of the soundtrack), while quiet, is amazing. Not so jazzy, but other good songs on the soundtrack include: Blade Runner Blues, Deckard Meets Rachel, Bicycle Riders and End Titles.
