Also, does anyone have any sad chiptunes? Like whole artists or albums. There's some stuff like that in what I listed, but nothing consistent

Rob Hubbard's theme for the Commodore 64 game based on the 2000ad comic Nemesis The Warlock.
Not exactly sad, but a kind of space-goth dirge/anthem.

Nectarine radio plays tracker tunes and sometimes chiptunes.

This guy makes cool things with cool chips. Including a remake of Nine Inch Nail's debut:

4mat aka Matthew Simmonds. I also recommend the music he did for Amiga versions of Dizzy games back in the early 90s. It's wonderful stuff.

I miss the J. Arthur Keenes band's earlier instrumentation.

I've only listened to Nadir. It's a really cool album. There's a lot of variety thematically and with the sampling. I'll have to give Surrender a listen.

Are there any good chiptune/tracker emulators for linux? I'm aware of renoise but I'm thinking of emulations of real old-school soundchips...

There's a dead, but aparently working, version of famitracker for linux out there somewhere. And LSDJ can be used in any GB/GBA emulator, although I don't know of any really good native ones. Bgb works well in wine, and it's what I like to use.

You guys need to check out Make Acid. He makes really amazing music in my opinion

You should definitely check out his song "anthem"

There's a new release out from Brother Android. I've been waiting quite awhile for some new material from him, and I'm pretty pleased with it. I'd also recommend checking out the rest of his discography too, along with one of his side projects, Dragon Warrior: https://dragonwarrior.bandcamp.com/

Other Commodore 64K classics:
Rob Hubbard: Thrust

Another eargasmic masterpiece. The SID chip was doing stuff it didn't know it could do.
Martin Galway: Parallax
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igVxjCecmEg
People used to stop the game loading just to listen to this.
Rob Hubbard: Delta
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79UMFLJLi7w
This game loader allowed you to compose your own chiptune while the game loaded.
Matt Gray: Driller

At nearly 9mins long this in-game music track in a solid 3D game took the piss on what could be done with 64Kb.
