Does anyone know any good German song recommendations? I’m learning the language and would like to immerse myself in the culture more. I mostly listen to industrial music so far.

My favorite is Stillste Stund. It's an early 2000's exerimental electronic music with lots of lyrics in german. Check out maybe Untertage, or Elfentanz, and you will find your way to the rest. They have about 15 good songs IMO.

Not German, but Swiss, "Mordor" is one of the best bands i know. Start with their album "Odes" from 1990.

>>14274 >I mostly listen to industrial music so far. Well, you can get far just by that genre - if you think of it as German culture unconsciously processing their unflattering past. But I too listen industrial music heavily, and then some. For learning purposes, I guess Einstürzende Neubauten, Eisbrecher (the song "Verrückt" is something I absolutely adore, along with "Die Hölle muss warten"), Knorkator ("Warum" is a good start, I think), And One, Laserkraft 3D ("Nein mann" is kinda fun for a German song), and then there's Rammstein, obviously. Can't think of anything else for now. Maybe Beethoven's 9th symphony's lyric part "Ode to Joy", based on a poem by Schiller? It's hard to listen to, but I think reading the lyrics themselves in German could be a worthwhile experience.

>>14274 truly obligatory answer but nowdays i listen to a lot of rammstein, then i also really like we butter the bread with butter (der kleine vampir is one of my favorite metal tracks ever), then of course there are more nintendocore inspired bands like shemales from outtaspace of death or take back the roman empire

>>14274 Rummelsnuff must be one of my favorite German voices as of recent. https://www.youtube.com › watch?v=TKBDk6V8s2A https://www.youtube.com › watch?v=TKBDk6V8s2A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSRCSK6hDsI here are my 3 go-to's Since you mentioned Industrial: >Nachtmahre (probably already on your list) >Centhron >SITD >And One if you like black/pagan metal: >absurd >eisregen >nordglanz (if not, check at least "Die wahre Elektrohexe - Eisregen" out, it's not exactly industrial but they experimented in that song with a more synth approach) also if you are learning German, "Mittel Alta" could be fun to listen to. it combines old-german with medieval beats and rap.
