Bandcamp thread? I made this album fusing other albums together to make some interesting parallels and there's lots of numerology to be found. Idk what genre to call it bc I never heard such things. Give me your gmhonest opinions about the album and what genre would you think it is. >Inb4 admins Post your albums and give s brief about them. What did you make, why would it be interesting or smth like that idk https://amornebrolmo.bandcamp.com/album/why-do-only-lucky-people-get-to-live-fast-and-die-young-4(USER WAS WARNED FOR THIS POST, You should always elaborate on your opinions rather than just spilling the soykaf.)

About to listen to your album, I'll post again when I'm done This is my first album which I released about a month ago. I'd describe it as schizo rock and blues, for lack of a better term. It's rock and blues, but not normal, and not necessarily good. It'll definitely appeal to some people more than others. It's free to download in 24/96 flac if you'd like https://radelodia.bandcamp.com/album/exultant-album Any feedback is welcome

>>13700 Just finished it and, since you're asking for honest feedback, I'll give it. I didn't like it...way too much clipping and nonsensical soykaf But I don't really listen to that kind of stuff anyway and I doubt you care much about listenability. There are moments that I liked, mostly when the clipping died out. My favorite track was Zenith, The Wandering Caretaker. I also thought Unveil the Majora Mask was cool. All the others kind of blurred together and I can't distinguish them off the top of my head. I quickly skimmed your first album from 2000 and there was way less clipping, did you intentionally change your style?\ As for what genre...I don't know. It makes me think of trying to listen to music on terrible earbuds while mowing the lawn. You crank them up as loud as they'll go but the lawn mower is still louder so you just hear occasional blasts of music as the engine roars. Like I said, not my thing, but you don't have to listen to me of course. I'm curious to hear from you about your thought process for the album, do you enjoy listening to noisy soykaf like that?
Lady Jessica · 2025-04-29 06:03
>>13700 pretty good for a modern noise-adjacent album, though it does get maybe a bit boring in some parts to be honest >>13709 as much as i hate modern rock that sounds like it came out of the 70s or 80s this album was good. didn't like the bluesy stuff at first but maybe that's just cus i didn't expect it from the cover
Incognito · 2025-04-29 07:19
Here is a death metal album I made for my friend's tabletop game. A sort of half-joke emulation of the Bolt Thrower/Warhammer 40k relationship. Let me know what you think of my silly sci-fi songs. https://scumhunter.bandcamp.com/album/scumhunter >>13700 This was a really fun listen! Every now and then I just want to listen to something unpredictable, where I really can't anticipate what's coming next, and this scratched that itch for me. I'll be sure to explore your other releases soon. >>13709 I really like this too! I can see why you settled on "schizo rock", the influences and styles are fairly eclectic. I hear Gentle Giant, Guided by Voices, Talking Heads, post-punk, no-wave, good ol blues, and plenty more. I do agree with thr above lain on the artwork, it doesn't represent how the album feels very well. Not a huge deal, but something to consider on future releases.

>>13712 I also have a dungeon synth project. A few people have described it as "save room music" and I think it's pretty fitting. Definitely more on the 'dark ambient' side of DS and less 'timpanis and trumpets' https://taconicpeaks.bandcamp.com/

>>13711 >didn't like the bluesy stuff at first but maybe that's just cus i didn't expect it from the cover to be fair, my blues is not that great and yeah I can understand the album cover not fitting the music, I kinda threw it together at the last moment glad you didn't mind it too much though. I'm not a huge fan of "classic rock" in general either, although there is a ton of music from that era I like I find a lot of the generic stuff to be pretty boring and annoying. Cream would probably be my favorite among the older rock bands >>13712 I appreciate the feedback. You're the second person who's pointed out the incongruous album cover so I definitely could've picked something better I really like your death metal album! You called it a half-joke but it's not half bad. I'm an uncultured swine when it comes to stuff like death metal, noise, etc, but I liked your release. I dig the guitar playing, especially the solo on Termination Condition. I like how each song seemed to have a concept too. Shopbot 4000 and Error 0xF5045A were my favorite tracks I'll give your dungeon synth album a listen after I get home

>>13710 Based by your response I would think I'm doing what I want to do right. >I doubt you care about listenability Yeah, for most of the part. It's mostly that I want to make something (just for a comparison or explanation) like Sophie did with sounds that actually sound like metal. I just want an echo chamber of metal, it's not really about "making it big" my music was always about experimentation. >I quickly skimmed your first album from 2000 and there was way less clipping, did you intentionally change your style? Yeah, like I said I had an idea and wanted to experiment. Tracks like the one you liked like Zenith was me trying to get to know how use a DAW and everything that comes after it. It's also an old track. >I'm curious to hear from you about your thought process for the album, do you enjoy listening to noisy soykaf like that? Yeah my style (current) came about when I listened to Coil, some shoegaze, Stalaggh and other noise artists. I like this style because when you're finished listening to the album you feel like you've been underwater and now you can hear properly. Something like that comes to mind. >>13711 >It does get boring Yeah, I know. I can't quite figure out how to make an album that's "exciting" but still has more than 4 tracks. >>13712 That itch that you have could be what I'm looking for to be honest. If you want more one of my most "popular" tracks is Say Hello To The No of Hi. I'd recommend the "Post no of Electrowave". Thanks everyone for their feedback! I will listen to your music too but I can't post more feedback because this post is already too long.

>>13709 Kinda weird mixed references I got from this particular song "Neurocast" it's like mixture of library music and the strokes. The production could have been a little better too. >>13712 Really like the growls. Seems like I've heard this style previously.

Me and the boys down at the lab are putting together another proper album but at the moment it is nowhere near done. Here's our last album if you want to check it out(https://efinivapejuice.bandcamp.com/album/miscellaneous-selections-2024). At the end of every year we put together our demos, finish them up and release them. We have 3 people in our group with different styles sometimes we produce solo and other times we help out with eacthother's tracks. Its pretty fun.

>>14472 yoooo thats fuarrrking awesome !!! the main drum part on Old Sword is something i made on my SP404 MkII. iirc its all one shots. most of my sample packs were on the sd card when i bought it, but i also got a few from humble bundle. ive got 'Big Cop Sample Pack', 'Voyage Comps And Stems', 'ProducerPlanet LoFi HipHop', 'Cookin Soul - Lo-Bap Life vol. 4 Drum Kit', 'FRIQUENCY VOLUME 3', 'Kount Drums Volumes 3 and 4', and 'Diskette Drum Breaks Vol.2'. not a huge sampler user lol. just checked the mix. theres some layers of live stuff, mostly just that hi hat. the tracks are waay extra since i copied a template with a drum mic setup i was using elsewhere. i was more liberal with my vsts at the time... a lot of airwindows (mostly from the starter kit, also the consoles) and some goodhertz (tupe and midside matrix). if youre referring to jjs blues, thats all my playing. the middle section is the same recording just sped up 2x

Hey, I just put out a small experimental record called Vecraft’s Theme Electronix. It’s built entirely around a single theme that first appeared in some older tracks of mine. This time I took that idea and let it run through whole pieces instead of just appearing once. Everything is electronic, made from code in Sonic Pi and then shaped in a DAW. tools : sonicpi, python, reaper, spek https://ayman.bandcamp.com/album/vecraft-s-theme-electronix
