Inspirations & Musical Genres

What are the genres & artists that you lains take inspiration on, in order to do music?
I usually take a lot of inspiration on snippets of different songs.
I also use samples from time to time, but i don't really like my songs to revolve around them.

I've taken a lot of inspiration on heavy bass lines (as a lot of other dnb producers do) And dub & breakbeat elements.
As for death grips, i think that the thing i like the most about them, is the aggressive, yet really quirky sound that they where able to accomplish on the Year Of The Snitch.
Shit, i remember the first time i listened to them, i fuarrrking hated them, but after some time, it just clicked.
I remember that the song that really got me into them was Ha Ha Ha.
I'll attach a link to a song of mine so that you lains can see what kind of things i make

please, if any of you lains feels like it, upload compositions of your own, and explain what inspirations have you taken.

It depends a lot on what emotion I want to evoke with my music, since I listen to a lot of things. Most of the time I try to analyze a song or part of something that gave me a certain impression or feeling, then I try to replicate it but emphasizing some parts more than others. I pretty much do it from scratch without the use of samples, not because I'm against it or anything like that, but because I'm not good at sampling and I end up having more fun writing and mixing something that I made myself

For melancholic tracks, what inspirations would you take for instance?
And also, would you mind sharing your stuff

Brian Eno, Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Autechre, man I really love that melancholic Industrial feeling, that old synths and electric pianos are totally alien.
About my own stuff: I really haven't published anything yet, but here's something...

I like how the little piano melodies sound, and whatever you did with the bass is also really interesting.
Thanks for sharing lain!

I generally take more of an abstract inspiration from artists. For example, I would never write a song that sounded like any of the styles Tom Waits covered, but I do take inspiration from his willingness to not get tied down with one sound and his use of narrative, structure and tone across a whole album. Then again, I have more experience and skill with literature than music so that's probably why.
However, sound wise I tend to drift towards anything with a striking bassline and a good use of texture

I can't take inspiration from other musicians even if i wanted to. I just do whatever I feel like without thinking about it.

That sounds somewhat not really that convincing at least from the perspective that I've got, since at the end of the day, even if we don't don't want it, we are a product of our environment, and we have almost 0 control of what we do, but, nonetheless, i would like to hear the stuff that you do, if you don't mind of course.
