Ok, I was sitting around playing with a simple drum and bass midi bit I wrote to practice to, and I didn't realize I was dubbing a bunch of guitar parts over it until I played it back. Made me laugh.

Thanks to everyone for the tracks you've sent! they're all comfy for listen to. >>12051 are you acetylene? if so, we got your submission. its coming along smoothly and we plan to release the mixtape this summer as track44, alongside a music issue. if it turns out that we have more than enough to dub to a single cassette, which is what we are approaching, we can think about doing a volume 1 & 2 twice as fast without music zine or simply releasing everything spawned from this thread separately on its own timeline (to be discussed here) as a separate release - my concern being that my stepping in with lainzine's music project already underway, like i did, might undermine the organic production of a lainchan mixtape not dependent on my / lainzine's time resources. However it seems like nobody else has really stepped forward to collect submissions or set up any kind of distribution infrastructure (such as a bandcamp), to release your music as a matter of lainchan representing itself. we are also planning to release / develop a music edition of the lainzine, and only need one longform article about music for the music zine to feel complete and typeset it. or at least so was the demand of the person who track44 was their idea and volunteered to typeset. I planned to focus on this in June, but if that falls apart come midsummer we'll just release all the article in subsequent issues of the lainzine. this is because track44 was envisioned as a place to put all the interviews we collected (machine girl, octo octa, esper99, goreshit, a couple other cool artists) in one place, in line with the thing some lains wanted of doing themed releases and dedicating an entire music section - people have been sending us tracks for a while, so putting up a compilation seems like the best thing to do with it before creating an entire record label. tl;dr if enough people post songs here / submit from this thread, we can do an entire mixtape of lainchan music. otherwise we'll put everything into track44 with all the music we've already received. we can also release just a mixtape sooner than midsummer if a critical mass of musicians sending in content want to.
