Hello, I have recently discovered the UK Garage genre and I have been really enjoying it. I love the diverse beats, vocals and the whole spirit behind the scene. Here are three of my favourites:
It's Too Late by The Streets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0LGscAiX3M
Bagsy Not In Net by The 1975: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUOXfzo3vxU
The Escapist by The Streets: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24f9nJZBCD8
I particularly like the contrast the lyricism and the beats have with the beautiful and harmonious instruments. From my limited knowledge of the genre, I understand these works are more akin to UKG-derivatives than UKG in its true essence. Is there a formal name for this more 'instrumentalized' and emotional form of UKG? If so, what are other songs in this style?
