Whats a song or album you will always love because it came at a very important in your life? What was that important moment or memory?

There was a time when I was homeless... living with my mom and older brother in various hotels or in our car. I will never forget the day my brother drove just us two to get some taco bell and hang out at a park while mom was working. He had just got the Demon Days cd when it was released. I was 11 at the time and had never heard Gorrilaz music. Feel Good Inc. was the first song i distinctively remember hearing that evening. We were talking about our situation and he offered very comforting words that assured me that everything was going to be okay. I'll never forget that day. That period of my life made me very insular, withdrawn, and bitter. Ten years later, I have a car and a home to live in. I graduate in a matter of weeks. He was right. With a little effort and a positive attitude, it will all work out in the end. I miss you a lot.

XXYYXX - Never Leave
The song makes me extremely emotional when I hear it. I was a lot happier then. Probably the only night I ever spent with people I could call my friends. It never happened again.

Well, none of those albums came out recently, but they have really helped me when I'm having a bad time. There's something about grindcore that makes me feel great or gives me energy when I need it.
The albums are:
Insect Warfare - World Extermination. Notable songs: Oxygen Corrosion, Human Trafficking and Necessary Death. The song Pestilent Excruciation from the Carcass Grinder split is also a killer.
Nasum - Human 2.0 and Shift. Two lovely albums. The song Shadows and Corrosion from Human 2.0 should be fine for tasting.
Death Toll 80k - Harsh Realities. When some angry OOOUUUGH and AAAAAAAGH only makes sense. The song No Escape should be good for tasting, but I recommend listening to the album as a whole (like every album).

Literally lisafrank420. I soykaf you not.
>>when I first heard it I realized that I don't have to be this "LOL RANDOM XD" person anymore, that maybe the internet and current society isn't ideally right. It changed my attitude.
It changed my life

Fullkawa Honpo - Girlfriend From Kyoto. Funnily enough, the important part of my life was expanding my artistic sensibilities past EDM and rap. Later on, the lyrics spoke to me since he talks about loneliness and loss, which I've had to deal with since I was a kid.

Pic is made of love. Good thing his dad wasn't into Discharge instead of Napalm Death. Imagine the jokes the other kids would make.

I don't really think it was a very important time in my life as much as it was the best.
My cousin introduced me to a fair bit of music that shaped my ideals and tollerance towards others as well as my morality.
He was a few years older than me and I thought he was the coolest guy. My parents had me when they were teenagers and my cousin's mother was an alchoholic nurse so she was always at work or too drunk to take care of him. His father left his mother a month after he was born. We would spend all day together either at my grandmothers house where we all lived or at my uncle's house with him and my younger cousin when there was no one to watch us. He was a brother to me as much as we spent time together.
When i was about 8 my parents moved about 2 hours away and he moved all over for years because his mother kept getting kicked out of different hospitals. For a few years he came back to stay with our grandmother and I would go over to visit them from time to time. We would go up stairs to the computer room that used to be my parents and lay on the floor next to eachother in front of the monitor and we'd listen to Bob Marley and sing along while i watched him play fallout or doom or someting else on his xbox.
I was never good at video games and was just so content to sit there and watch him play and he would tell me the meaning of different songs and why bob marely was so great and how his songs impacted him.
He's dead now.
I listen to songs like this and all I can do is remember a better time. All I can do is remember when I felt truly loved and could truly love another person. All I can do is remember when I felt safe and happy.
I miss him.

It was a fuarrrked up time in my life, friends leaving and all turning to drugs. Left Behind I had no one. Family left me and parents went through a rough divorce. I remember riding a bike that night stopping in a CD shop to ease my mind. I saw this album and couldn't look away from the cover art. Picked it up and bought it for 2 dollars and listened to the whole thing in my car later that night. This was my favorite song and gives me a particularly nice feeling every time I listen to it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4YAjUDLIdE

These songs are very personal and will identify me if certain people read this, but what the hell. These are all songs that were played during moments I will remember for the rest of my life and will probably stick with me as long as I live:
Frank Ocean - Solo: Chilling with friends, at the end of a fun night as it's all winding down. Reminds me of a time a bit more innocent than the world we live in today even if it was almost a year ago.
Chrome Sparks - Sparks EP: Listening to this album, driving around with friends smoking weed back when I had more free time.
Sales - Getting It On: Laying in bed with my ex-girlfriend, and seeing them perform in a small, intimate concert with friends later on.
Kanye West - Homecoming: Being on the subway in Chicago as a kid when the song first came out, and coming back to the city later on with friends.
Weezer - Pork and Beans: At a young age watched the music video on google videos (remember that?), first introduction to memetics.
MACINTOSH PLUS - リサフランク420 / 現代のコンピュー: Heard this song and immediately got super autistic about it. Learned to play it on piano by practicing from sundown to sunup. This seems to be a common song here, I wonder what place in society (if any) it will have in a decade or two?

Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix
I wasn't into music before that song, and after it it didn't take long before I was studying music and guitar at a prestigious school. I got a lot of respect and friends through playing guitar, so one can say the song changed my life pretty drastically. Also:
Java Man - Michael Hedges
It made me move away from electric blues to percussive fingerstyle acoustic, and there were also a lot of things going on when I first heard it.
Probably are some other songs, but those are the ones I remember from off the top of my mind.

i understand that feel man. car rides and music are a strange yet powerful combination, dont know why.
for me, i'd say i'm emotionally attached to Rosetta's "au pays natal". an intense, evolving post-metal anthem. lyrics reflect on the thoughts and feelings of a man who "escapes" to space, as a metaphor of living in seclusion, avoiding his family, friends and responsibilites. it got me in a moment of my life in where i noticed i was doing that same thing: lying to myself, pretending i was reaching for the stars, while all i was doing was encasing myself in an opaque yet fragile shell.
its acoustic version is killer.

Floral Shoppe by Macintosh Plus, cause i lost my virginity over that album
fuarrrk, i really had fortune finding such a well-tasted girlfriend

There's one song which I had completely forgotten about, but rediscovered recently. I used to listen to it almost daily when I was a kid to cheer myself up. Mostly because of how fuarrrked up my life was at that point and how everything around me just kept getting worse.
Saw it once on the 5inch b&w my "family" had and then tried my best to hunt down a music tape with it.
Doubt that anyone here will like it much since it's in my native language instead of English or instrumental.

Holy Diver (the album) by Dio introdused me to metal genre, love to which will blossom inside me until the day I die.
Shumann's Cello Concerto in A minor, Op. 129 by Rostropovich and Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto №2 by whoever played the piece for Nodame Cantabile. There was a sudden drag towards classical music when I began to fall out of social life. These pieces are sort of associatives of my solitary life since then.

Mozart - Piano Sonata No 16 K545 in C major
I really wanted to play the piano after listening to this. I started lessons because of this and have been going once a week for one hour for the last two months.
I haven't progressed much though. I guess it takes time.

Loved this record since it came out. Some songs get me hyper, some give me chills. All together, it is about a perfect album. The re-release by Streelight Manifesto was somehow even perfecter. But this one here was the one I decided, when deployed to a desert island, that if I had to have only one record on a desert island, this would be it.
