>>410 If he put a youtube link half the people here wouldnt even click it and a quarter would call him out for putting a link to youtube or wherever becauze they are FSF/security nuts. Especially if he only put a link with no title.

I really like this track and specially how this upload used that image, since then I always think of this picture and relate it to the song.

This is a fantastic piece. The artist, Ken Wong, is also great. I met him a few years ago, I believe he was the lead artist for the game monument valley

>>418 The genre is post-rock. There's a ton of it although most is mediocre. My favorite post-rock song is taijin kyufusho by evpatoria report.

>>344 Mogwai are some of the most brilliant artists of alive today They have everything from heavier stuff with soul crushing builds to stuff like Take Me Somewhere Listen through The Hawk is Howling if you get a chance, its absolutely brilliant, esp. first track, "I'm Jim Morrison, I'm Dead" I also would recommend "May Nothing But Happiness Come Through Your Door" and "Friend of the Night" if you want stuff with the same sort of vibe as Take Me Somewhere Also, check out Explosions in the Sky, MONO, and God is an Astronaut if you like that sound

>>540 Have you heard Blanck Mass's remix of Remurdered? Its badass

>>418 >>1110 I also forgot to mention "Tracy" off of their first full length album, absolutely incredible song And "I Know You Are, But What Am I?"

>>344 I was bored one day and just typed "take me somewhere nice" into Google, and I found this. I was very pleasantly surprised, it's great.

>>418 Post rock's a frustrating genre with a lot of wasted potential. There's little innovation these days as most bands copy everyone else. You can generally expect an unenthusiastic crescendo into an unearned climax: crescendo-core as it's been dubbed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F836tdz1Meo Explosions in the sky, MONO, and God is an Astronaut are probably some of the best crescendo-core out there. I grew up on that stuff and I hold it dear to my heart. This is what I can recommend if you want something similar to pic related Mogwai: 1) More Mogwai -Start with come on die young. It contains take me somewhere nice. -Then Rock action and young team. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17d6WRnQeuo 2) Bands that influenced Mogwai: As far as I know, Slint influenced Mogwai the most, at least initially. Compare this song with Take me somewhere nice. Pay close attention to the guitar, the drums, the vocals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yEgcb167k4 3) Bands that add something unique to the post rock they write. with Jazz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAbNarBqrBs with black metal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w_prtHy_a_o math rock https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mMVE3NEYG1Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDzSp5MABl4 Bonus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dh_wnykggWM >>1112 Great choices! >>1111 you might enjoy mogwai a wrenched virile lore https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tn2HXGYK6XA

Rosetta - "quintessential ephemera" what if explosions in the sky actually bombed the clouds instead of being lame girly crescendocore.

>>1174 hey, no hating on Explosions in the Sky, i love them passionately and i don't care how girly or overly crescendocore it may be but The Earth is not a Cold Dead Place is one of my favorite albums of all time >>1165 good call on A Wrenched Virile Lore, there's some pretty cool stuff there also, yeah, Slint definitely had a huge impact on early Mogwai, although they've progressed a fair bit from there For more good crescendocore I would also recommend sleepmakeswaves, In Today Already Walks Tomorrow is a fastastic album, especially "What We Cannot Speak of Must Be Passed Ever in Silence" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3YCc7uMjWc
