Let's have thread for electric guitar mastery albums. Just assume that 'Surfing with an alien' is an ideal example of such and album and give me moar like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlqLUawIkOc

>>1393 I made a typo "such a album" not "such and album" Here goes less known album from 2009. AFAIK it was distributed only with polish guitar magazine Gitarzysta ("Guitarist") I especially like tracks "W jeden dzień", "Dojechali rowerami" and "Retrospekcja" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBDMn4aYQrM I would sell my mother to slavery to get tabs of this rare masterpiece

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXvanvjJXxU&list=PLccpwGk_xup-Iqziohetl7fajffEE1kIA Allan Holdsworth - "Then". This is Allan's best live album, one of the greatest jazz/fusion guitarists ever at the top of his game. http://sunnysidezone.com/album/oceana Ben Monder - "Oceana". I've seen this album described as a baroque cathedral for a guitar and it's quite a good description. https://youtu.be/nEpv8U4k4OE Scott Henderson - "Well to the bone". This is a forward-thinking blues album made by Tribal Tech guitarist. It kicks ass. https://youtu.be/WSacRLZkXA8 Paco de Lucia - "Flamenco Virtuoso". It's Paco, what am I even supposed to say? This is a compilation album.

I haven't been into shred guitar for a while but Paul Gilbert's "Silence Followed By a Deafening Roar" was one of my favorite albums back in the day. "Norwegian Cowbell" is a good excerpt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnmIXBZlMqM Polyphia is great, too. You can't go wrong, although their first album isn't as good as the rest of them. Here's my favorite by them (that flutter-ridden chorus, goddamn) with a ridiculous Jason Richardson feature: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kd6hTuN0bLg

StarFleet Project was Brian May and Eddie Van Halen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL4QEsOJG0A Mostly the whole thing was just an excuse to cover this kickass theme tune to a Japanese marionette show, an answer to Thunderbirds. This would make such a Guitar Hero track. Both guys are just going full ham, trying to outdo each other... It's like the metal Duelling Banjos.
