Jack Kerouac

Whats the best way to post a never before released online 3+ hour long mp3 interview of Jack Kerouac, Stanley Twardowicz, and other unknown folks from 1964? Looking for a site that will specifically allow me to upload mp3s and preferably a full folder of them (also have a compressed format of the folder if that helps). Anyone know a good site from which to do this? The interview is broken up into 10 parts. Its from 1964 and was done by the request from the public library before Kerouac moved out of Northport. Since the interview was never given a name I have titled it the “Secret Northport Tapes”. As far as I know its never been uploaded to the internet and I found it buried deep in the vault of the local archives myself. If you hear the interview it will become readily evident why it wasnt ever uploaded online, because its quite spicy and extremely insightful. I have researched Kerouac for the past decade on and off and there is a lot about the man which has been obscured or covered up by others who knew him. This link is also has some extremely rare and interesting information on Jack Kerouac ~ https://whokilledkerouac.com/ If there are other people here interested in the subject I can potentially share other rare pieces of information and interesting insights into the mans life.

Yeah, i love beat gen and Jack's works. Thanks for the link. I am personally interested. But, i don't know the perfect site for it, so...If you just share it somewhere, i'll love to explore it. And feel free to share some info on Kerouac, too.
Nemissa · 2023-04-03 08:24
>>8768 You can post it on pomf.lain.la - Just for hosting, but I don't know. I'm extremely interested in this interview. Can you post it here?

>>8768 >Whats the best way to post a never before released online 3+ hour long mp3 interview of Jack Kerouac, Stanley Twardowicz, and other unknown folks from 1964? Internet Archive[0], probably. If anyone knows of any other public data archiving services feel free to share them. Beyond that, a torrent or a post (not sure what the terminology is) on I2P? Share it on various forums or image boards? Make a Neocities[1] site for it and post updated links? This site[2] has some useful, if somewhat dated, notes on spreading data. [0] https://archive.org/ [1] https://neocities.org/ [2] https://dhitma.neocities.org/html/upload >>8770 pomf should be fine for long-term data storage, barring a DMCA request.

>>8771 >DMCA request It probably wouldn't apply or happen, but the request would be publically logged. I'd also keep a personal, offline copy of it. I archive everything important, provided I have the space for it.

>>8774 lets see if i can put it on here directly. also just made a recording of my reflections and conclusions on the life of jack kerouac.
Donna Hawthorne · 2023-04-03 15:26
Please put it on youtube. Yes, it's a crappy site but it's the most commonly used and everyone should have the opportunity to listen to it. Know a lot of old folks and colleagues that would be immensly interested and they all use yt
Drifter · 2023-04-04 13:47
>>8778 this should suffice. last time i made a youtube account it got derezzed within 24 hours so im done with all google accounts.

Really love to hear thoughts on this. This interview definitely touched on a lot, although its mixed in with a lot of drunk talk and silly stuff.
Joe Bloggs · 2023-05-25 11:45
>>8803 Literally the longest and most in depth Kerouac interview ever given and so hot topic and controversial no one wanted to release it online. Can I at least get some feedback for my troubles? Sorry for bitching, this interview it a true treasure to me and I was hesitant to post it for some months.

>15 posts in >no mention of a torrent /lit/ truly is the dumbest board, if 5 people say they'll seed it I'll make a torrent, there's no risk of it being lost that way
Technician · 2023-07-24 10:08
>>9156 Good idear. I will seed it off my computer when I go back home in a few days if you do that.

After over a decade of putting it off I finally read and finished The Town and The City a few days ago. Fantastic book but definitely written different then Kerouacs others. I a, very interested to look at the original copy that he gifted to Northport Library, which Sampas (the family accused of murdering Kerouac either intentionally or accidentally) tried to claim was rightfully theirs in court but thankfully lost. The same people who denied the existence of Kerouacs daughter Jan when being asked in court if Kerouac had any kids that his estate belonged to. Jan tried to legally grt it back, lost and mysteriously died right after. Smoked a cigar next to Kerouacs old house as I read the end of the book. His fathers life and death really set a course for him, powerful stuff.

Anyone who knows how to speak french should do a translation of this. Definitely looks like a super great interview and two small parts of it were available with english subs on Jack Kerouac Estates youtube page. Wonder if that really is the Estate because if it is thats Sampas Yotube.

Here is an amazing essay that actually for once accurately describes Jack Kerouac and the Beats from the perspective of a true Kerouac and Beat Generation connoisseur. " This is the first major attempt to examine the life and work of Jack Kerouac from the Right, to assess the damage that the Kerouac myth has done in Western culture, and to rescue the real Kerouac from the distortions and misrepresentations that characterize most of the works about him. Almost universally seen as a kind of proto-hippy figure who preached free love and the road of excess, author Semmelweis shows the ignored, reactionary side of Kerouac. Kerouac the patriot, Kerouac the devout Catholic, Kerouac the anti-communist and despiser of the 1960s counter-culture that claimed him, against his will, as an inspiration." >https://www.amazon.com/Jack-Kerouac-Decline-West-Semmelweis-ebook/dp/B08DD24VT5 Highly recommended by Old Pee and 4chins-/lit/, actually I only knew bout it bc of /lit/ so im passing the buck. Also heres a fun list of things we need to root out IMMEDIATELY, courtesy of whokilledkerouac, straight from the Top High Command Dept. of Lowell. And finally the completely wrong and totally bullshit SOON TO BE CORRECTED ONCE AND FOR ALL transcript of The Northport Library Interview 1964. Will post the one corrected personally by hand, because the bullshit has got to stop, NOW.
