Daoism

Hello I am looking to be more informed on Daoism (Beliefs, customs, etc) and so I'm after books that contain commentaries on Daoist texts, and lived experiences preferably from Chinese Daoists themselves, but I'll take anything if it's good. I've heard Red Pine is excellent and I plan on reading The Collected Songs of Cold Mountain, but maybe not until I have a better understanding.

You're likely familiar with the following, even so its worthwhile to contemplate the writings of Chuang Tzu and about interpreting the I Ching. Alan Watts has written extensively about Asian religions and many of his complete lectures are found on youtube. The lectures are entertaining although he tends to ramble. His writings are good but are primarily about Zen. The Tao of Pooh (yes indeed, Winnie the Pooh) Bruce Lee studied philosophy in college and his books are excellent. Check your local library for a copy of his Striking Thoughts.

I would recommend the book of Alan watts on Daoism, though not before reading at least the Dao De Ching a few times. Currently going through his book on Zen and it’s also very good
